The Cadanthine Cure

Lyra was left alone in the room as Elara walked out. The light from the candles made shadows dance on the walls. She got into her warm bed, snuggled under the colorful quilt, and thought about the amazing stories of the winged angels.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, Lyra heard voices coming from the other room. Curious, she got out of bed quietly and crept to the door, listening closely.

"...and that's when I figured out how important cadanthine is," Elara's voice came through the door, sounding excited and a little worried. "If we can make the stuff in the Lunar Lily work in a potion, it might be able to fix the problems caused by the bad Sanguine essence technique."

Oren's voice, low and thoughtful, replied, "This is what we've always wanted, my love. If we can help the people who were made to use the Sanguine essence technique, to make them like they were before, it could change everything in Nocturnia. No more innocent people would have their lives messed up by those who misuse this power."

Lyra's heart beat fast as she realized how big her mother's discovery was. A way to fix the harm done by the forced Sanguine trigger, to give hope to those pushed into darkness against their will?

As Lyra kept listening, she heard her mother's voice again, now sounding a bit worried. "But we're still a long way from making it work, Oren. The cadanthine is really unstable, and we need more time to get the potion right. One mistake, and things could go very wrong."

Oren's reply was strong and encouraging. "I get why you're worried, Elara, but I think we're on the right track. With my new testing way, we could maybe make things go faster. By using a controlled space and watching the reactions closely, we can make the risks smaller and get the info we need to make the treatment better."

Elara sighed heavily, feeling the weight of responsibility. "I know you're right, my love. It's just... there's so much at stake. We can't afford to mess up. So many lives depend on us."

"And that's exactly why we have to keep going," Oren said, sounding determined. "Every day we wait, more innocent people are lost to the corrupted Sanguine essence technique. We have the knowledge and the ability to change things, to bring hope to those who have been forced to live in unimaginable darkness."

Lyra felt proud and amazed by her parents. Their strong desire to help others, even when facing tough challenges, showed how strong they were and how much they loved the people of Nocturnia.
