"You..."

Before she could hear more, she felt herself growing increasingly faint, her senses dulled, and she fell unconscious.

Before the girl could touch the ground, she was snatched by two strong hands. The mysterious man caught her before she hit the uncomfortable floor, cradling her effortlessly with one arm while turning to face his adversaries.

The nine remaining shinobi, who had been watching the scene unfold, erupted into panic at the sight of the man once again focusing his attention on them. Some of them were so overcome with fear that their legs turned to jelly, nearly causing them to collapse.

Even the leader of this small group was shocked by the power and brutality of the unknown man. However, he quickly regained his composure and prepared for the impending battle. Seizing the brief distraction caused by the man catching the girl, he swiftly performed the hand signs for the Hiding Mist Technique, intending to obscure the man's vision.

Signaling his members to conceal themselves within the mist and attack him unnoticed, he positioned himself near the man with his sword, intent on striking him down without detection. Uninterested in their petty games, the unknown man was visibly annoyed by their audacity. His frustration manifested in the wild thrashing of his long hair.

"How dare these insects attempt to lay hands on me? And with such feeble ninjutsu! Do they truly believe they can defeat me? Ludicrous!" were his only thoughts. With a loud "tsk," his patience exhausted, he vanished from his spot, reappearing behind the group's leader.

His hand pierced through the unfortunate man's chest, the victim unaware of the attack until his final moments, unaware of what had killed him. As the mysterious man dispatched the"strongest man"of the group, he raised his hand, and the same fate that befell their first comrade awaited the remaining ninja.

In a dimly lit chamber where the only source of light emanated from the moon, a green-haired girl lay on a luxurious Western-style bed. The girl's fingers twitched, and her eyes flickered, indicating that she would soon awaken from her slumber. Minutes later, the girl slowly opened her eyes, revealing orbs of orange light that, though weary, retained their brilliance.

Her gaze was glazed, suggesting she was not fully awake. However, the young girl suddenly widened her eyes completely and leaped from the bed, assuming a defensive stance. Yet, she couldn't remain standing for long as dizziness overcame her, sapping her strength. But before her knees could touch the ground, she was caught by two strong arms.

"Easy there," a deep voice said to the girl. She looked at the arms, then upward, meeting two azure eyes. Briefly, she was entranced. Those eyes cast a spell on her, drawing her closer to the still unfamiliar man. She was inches away when a sharp pain snapped her out of her trance.

"Hmm, your wound has reopened," said the mysterious man as he gently laid her back on the bed, observing her silently. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. With a delay, she asked the man, "Um, who are you?" The man tore his gaze from her newly opened wound, blood trickling, and focused on her two orange eyes. "Kyūketsuki Kaito," was his terse reply.

Before she could inquire further, she noticed him snap his fingers, and suddenly, a chair materialized. Shocked, she watched as the man seated himself before speaking. "I imagine you have many questions you'd like to ask, I assume?" he inquired before continuing.

The green-haired girl nervously nodded. She didn't know if she could trust this man or what he might do to her. Heck, she didn't even know where the man came from or why she was here. But panicking now would only make the situation worse. She had to stay calm and devise a plan in case the man tried anything funny.

The man, sensing her nervousness, said nothing, knowing that even if he reassured her that he wouldn't harm her, she wouldn't believe him. Calmly, he continued speaking.

"Do you still desire this power?" The girl tilted her head slightly, surprised and confused by his question. "What power? Why am I here, and what are you?" she countered with a question. She couldn't wait any longer with her inquiries.

She wanted to know what he was and why she was here. He didn't seem human. His appearance, though she couldn't see much in the darkness, hinted that he was very handsome. Especially those eyes that could mesmerize you if you gazed too deeply or too long, which she avoided after the little accident where she accidentally came to close to his face which she found very embarrassing. Her cheeks turned a bit red at the memory.

The man's deep voice snapped her out of her thoughts as he responded. "Hn! It seems you cannot recall our deal. But—" Before he could continue, he was interrupted by the young lady.

"It was you!" she said incredulously. Her eyes widened slightly, her mouth gaping wide, almost touching the bed. "I thought it was a demon or an animal?" The man's eyebrows shot up, his face expressing offense and displeasure at her assumptions.

"How did you come to these conclusions? Nevermind, I don't want to know. And don't interrupt me again!" he added when he noticed the girl was about to speak. "To your previous question, I am a vampire, or rather, I am the Vampire Lord." "And yes, I was in that coffin. I was sealed there years ago," he added as if he could read the girl's thoughts, anticipating the exact question she was about to ask.
