What Happened Last Night (Two)

<Acera POV>

"Ahh!..." a woman whimpered in pain.

My eyes snapped to check on her with the speed of light.

Relief disappeared from my face when a potent scent entered my nostrils and startled my entire system. It was the same scent I caught earlier. However, that vanished by the time I got here, which made me wonder if I was imagining things. Definitely, that wasn't the case.

'This can't be right. It must be a mistake.' I thought. Yet the image in front of me didn't alter.

I closed the distance and squatted down beside her and took a whiff of her scent. My eyes darkened… something inside me was pulling me to get close to her. The sound of her pumping heart, her shallow breaths, and that alluring scent.

….. I want her. Her blood. Her body… all of her.

The sound of approaching footsteps broke the spell I'd caught. I shook my head, trying to make sense of it.

They were coming in here.
