Chapter 10 - Rank 1 Spells and Casting Speed

{Next Day, In training hall}

{MC POV}

" Ok let's start magic training" said Rose.

" Yes mama" I replied in eager tone.

"Pfft..." Rose chuckled seeing her son's eager face.

" Mama, I was waiting for this day since years you know right. Please start already" Said Ray while Pouting.

" Ok fine, First give me your hand. I will teach you how to sense mana" Said Rose.

Ray followed her words. When they joined their hands, A weird energy traveled from his mother's hand to his body.

" Baby that peculiar energy which you are feeling is Mana energy" explained Rose.

" Okay mom, I can sense it" replied Ray

" Now baby try to make mana energy flow from your mana core to your body. Try to circulate it everywhere" said Rose.

It took him some minutes to get accustomed to mana energy because it is harder to control as compared to internal energy.

" Yes baby now you are able to draw and control your mana energy. Pick up any spell book and follow steps written in that book" Said Rose.

Then Ray picked up Fire missile spell book and started reading it.

He held out his hand and started to draw mana from his mana core then he willed it move towards his fingertip. The mana started attracting fire elements particles from surroundings, and he tried to condense those particles to form a small fire missile But unfortunately his missile dispersed once it was half formed.

Several tries later.... He managed to create Fire missile, but before he could shoot the missile again disperse. Then his mana became empty, and he had to wait for ten minutes to recover.

Numerous tries later... He managed to shoot it but speed was extremely slow and missile dispersed before reaching half way the target

Several tries later..... He managed to shoot it, and it even reaches its target, but speed was not up to the standard that's why he did not got any notification from the system.

{Few hours later}

Finally Ray condensed a Fire missile and shot it towards Training Dummy in the training hall and This time Fire missile do not disperse and traveled to the required target at extremely fast speed. Ray's hand also got injured because of the recoil of the fire missile, but hand got healed immediately because of 'Divine Vampire Instant Regeneration'. Though injury cause some pain for a moment, but There was a big smile on Ray's face because of

After seeing this Ray finally lost control of his body and became unconscious because he was pushing himself past the limits. Before he could fall on the ground, Rose teleported towards to his position and hugged him then teleported to the bedroom where first she cast 'Clean spell' to clean all sweat from Ray's body Then she placed her son's head on her lap then gently kissed on his forehead and started stroking his hair.

Learning Water Bubble spell took a lot of time because Ray had to form a water bubble big enough to cover his full body from all sides.

Then To learn Elemental Healing spell book, he had to study body structure of all kinds of races especially Vampires.

" Now baby I will tell you some important things related to mages" Said Rose

" Ok mama" i said

" Let me ask you a question first. Baby How much time you take to cast these rank 1 spells?" asked Rose.

" Mama it takes me 5 seconds to use these spells" I replied.

" Yes then baby in a battle, 5 seconds time is too long. So to use these spells in battle, you will have to shorten the casting time. For this you will first have to understand why it takes such long time to cast magic spells while knight skills can be used instantly." said Rose

"ok mama" I said.

" When we gather our mana. It attracts element particles of all types. So it takes time for element particles of particular type to get collect and condense. Example if you are using fire spell. When you will start gathering mana to use this spell it will attract all element particles like water element particles, wind, dark, space, time etc. So it takes a long time to collect required amount of fire particles and use fire skill. Do you understand?" asked Rose.

" Yes mama" I replied

" Now Baby there are two methods to reduce casting time. First method is used by everyone in this world and Second Method is special method." said Rose.

"Ok mama, tell me how can I reduce my casting time" said Ray with determination.

" First method is used by everyone in this world. Where basically all spells have mastery. So you just have to increase your mastery of all your spells to reduce their casting time. To increase mastery you just simply spam all your spells." explained Rose.

" Ok mama and what is the Second Method" asked Ray.

" Baby This Second method is one of the reasons why your mama became the strongest mage and is considered most dangerous because of instant casting speed. This Special method is mentioned in a Rank 6 book. There are only ten copies of this book in the whole world. Copies of this book are purchased by all gods from various races and remaining copies were purchased by headmasters from different academies.

This special method explains us about element comprehension.

Baby basically when a person reaches Rank 6, he can create his own magic spell. So at Rank 6 people usually start comprehending the concept of elements which takes them years and once they comprehend the element to some percentage, they become able to control it. So they can create new spells.

So Baby this special method is that it teaches us a way to comprehend elements even before reaching Rank 6. It will be very hard for you to comprehend elements at this Rank and your brain will be under high pressure, so you will get a lot of headaches, but Your Mama is here to heal you, ease your pain, and help you comprehend elements. Plus baby you have High comprehending Speed because of your Blessing.

So you can practice Both First and Second methods using which you will be able to cast spells almost instantly, and You will also become Dangerous Mage just like your mother.

But casting speed will also depend on Rank of spell.

Let's take your Flame Missile spell for example. It takes you 5 seconds to cast it.

You will first have to master this spell to 100% Then it will take you 3 second to cast this spell.

And if you comprehend Fire Element by 10% then you will be able to immediately cast this Fire element spell.

If you can comprehend an Element to 80% then its even possible to change the spell or increase its Rank. Like you can increase damage, defence and other parameters of your spells and even change the element type of the spell. Like you can convert water element spell into Ice. But baby you can only change Rank 1 to Rank 4 Spells. For spells of Rank 5 and Rank 6 you will need 100% element Comprehension which is impossible to achieve before becoming Rank 6 mage.

But let me tell you one more thing baby. It is very easy to comprehend fire, water, wind, earth, light, dark, blood and Tree elements. But it is far harder to comprehend supreme elements like space, time, lightning and annihilation. These Elements require special conditions for fast Comprehension." explained Rose.
