"Who is she?"
"Let's not talk about her."
Drake answer shortly.
"Don't you ever turn your back on me that way!" I clamour while clenching my fists.
However, I can sense that he's hiding something from me. The woman earlier seems certain with her threats. "Why I'm even asking? You are just a man whom I've met that night."
I turn my back on him and cross my arms angrily.
Abruptly, I hear werewolves howling and growling that echoes around the entire place.
"Are you jealous of her?" He asks me from behind. I don't know what to answer but his presence gives shivers to my spine. My heart suddenly stops beating as well as the wind freezes.
I look at the glass window which the moon is evident to see. Its light seems fascinating and enthralling but anger stays in my chest.
"You don't have to feel jealous of anyone else, Thalia. You are the King's soon-to-be wife and you should be thinking about your wedding."
"I don't want to marry him, Drake. I... want to live my life to the fullest and becoming a Vampire Queen will only lead me to danger and death!"
Drake touches my shoulder and squeezes it gently. His warm hands make me calm and close my eyes for longer. "I want to escape from the reality, Drake. I want to live my life the way I want to."
"Deciding whether to marry or not Jack is not a decision for you make. Your parents agree to a treaty and there's no turning back, Thalia."
"But you're here to save me!"
I turn around to see his reaction, but I am dismay when he breaths deeply and look away.
"Tell me that you will be going to save me from Jack! Tell me!"
"Forgive me, Thalia but I can't." He walks away from me and fetches the plates and empty glasses. He's quiet until he pulls the chair for me.
A deafening silence embraces the entire room. Until I notice that there are candles on the table. "Are you not going to lit up the candles?" I ask him while slicing the meat I pick.
I assume that he will be going to say something but he abruptly stand and walk towards the cupboard. Drake lit up the candles that make the gulp and clear my throat.
It seems like a romantic meal but I find it dull and bleak. "Touch your food before I put it into the garbage."
I can't take this anger anymore. The stillness urges me to slam the table as the spoon and knife fall into the floor. "Don't make me angry again, Drake! I... I'm asking you but you turn cold and silent toward me!"
"Why are you shouting at me? I've answered your question but why did you slam the table? Are... Are you out of your sanity, Thalia? Are you not aware of who I am?"
For a moment, I am stuck with my position. "Damn you!"
I curse him and walks away before I slap and cry in front of him. I never knew that being a vampire is more complicated than being a Princess.
I left him hanging and shock. My heart wants to return and wrap my arms around him but I follow my mind than what my heart is saying.
"Thalia!"
"Come back here!"
Drake calls my name but I throw myself to the soft and huge bed. I sob silently while reminiscing about everything that I've said earlier.
"What have you done, Thalia? Why did you burst out in front of him?" I asked myself until the entire room turns silent and modest.
"Drake?"
No one answers me but I hear someone washing the plates and glasses that we didn't use.
I thought I can get rid of the anger once I said everything. But, it becomes worst and horrible. "Drake, please answer me!"
I can't help see him and talk about the misunderstandings between us. I need to ask for forgiveness before he lurks again and avoid me until our wedding day.
Reaching the dining table, I see someone different from Drake's features. He's tall like him but his skin is beige that looks him as a perfect shining armour.
"Who... Who are you?"
"Drake is a mess. He let you cry at his house and goes around by himself." He replies while wiping the plates with a dry towel. "Here, drink this. It will help you to be calm and think carefully."
The man gives me a glass of blood. The colour and aroma of it make me want to sip and drink all of it without wasting even a droplet. I gulp and tastes it slowly.
"Don't look for him, instead take some rest so that your wounds will be healed. The Vampire King sent his men to look for a particular vampire who lost in the woods earlier."
Upon hearing Jack's name, I stop sipping the blood and put it down on the top of a mini table.
"Why are you here? You and Drake are vampires like me, but it sounds like you despise him as the King of all vampires." I ask him while looking intently into his grey eyes.
He put aside the plates and rinse his hand shortly. He gasps and walks suddenly towards without a warning. "I want you to leave Drake away, but I know he won't let you go. That's why I come here to look after you while goes somewhere for a moment."
The man looks away upon realizing that the sky turning blue and the sun will rise soon.
"Stay here and don't you ever go out of his room! Do you understand?"
"I don't understand! Why are you all afraid of sunlight?"
The man turns around and replies, "You will turn into ashes when you go outside during daylight."
I thought I am resistant against the sun but I'm mistaken. Emilia didn't tell me everything regarding the effect of the sunlight on a vampire.
"Wait! I need to ask you one last question."
"Hurry up, Thalia! I need to finish something before the sun rises!"
I walks closer to him and said, "Are you a vampire or are you a werewolf?"
He narrows his eyes on me and gulps. "You will know once the right time comes."
"Keep your promises, Thalia! Drake will be here before the sun rises!"
The man abruptly vanishes out from my sight and left the plates and glasses on the table.
The place is too huge and elegant for Drake. "This is Drake's house?" I ask myself while looking at the portraits hung at the concrete wall.
It looks like an old castle but it's flourished by beautiful pieces of furniture and figurines. Most of the things are made up of pure, thick glasses.
The cabinet, the ceiling and the floor are made up of beautiful glasses.
"Wow! This entire place is stunning than Jack's palace! " I clamour while touching the figurines above the cabinet.
I notice that there are roses that bloom outside of the room. But, the sun will rise sooner or later.
"Forgive me, Drake. I didn't mean to say those words to you." I murmur while starting at the vanishing moon.
