Chapter 17

Arlo walked into his office after he met with the shareholders.

He sat and started working.

Arlo just couldn't get his mind off Kira, her smile, and the way she looked at him.

She had this cold aura that he loved so much.

He felt really restless, so, he stood up to get some water.

After drinking, he went back to work but he felt his restlessness grow worse.

Through his intercom, he called his secretary.

She walked in and greeted with a bow " You called for me, sir".

What's on my schedule for the rest of the day?" Arlo inquired to at least get his mind off Kira.

You have a meeting in thirty minutes with the mayor".

You can go".

Arlo couldn't still get back to work so he decided to pick up his phone.

He searched for Kira's name on Instagram and all her pictures and videos came up.

Kira was a different person on social media. That cold and distant agent was so friendly and cool, though, her cold aura could be felt in her pictures but she was always smiling.

Since he met her, he has never seen her smile but on social media, she played and smiled.

But most of her pictures were with either some blacks who seemed to be her friends or a particular guy who seemed to be her boyfriend.

Who's he to her?" Arlo asked himself.

He moved to her TikTok account and saw videos of her with the same guy.

Arlo was burning with jealousy " He can't be her boyfriend".

He decided to overlook her videos with the guy and focused on her personal videos.

She loved to explore and try difficult things.

But what was shocking to him was that she never posted anything regarding her real family.

Could she be on bad terms with her family?" Arlo thought inwardly.

His secretary walked in " Sir, the mayor is here".

Arlo nodded then turned off his phone and placed it in his suit pocket.

He stood up and buttoned his suit before leaving the office.

Kira walked in with her usual signature walk.

Her walk carried power and arrogance, which could make anyone feel inferior.

It's Kira Kim" Other models whispered as she entered.

Kira walked in to meet the director "Good Afternoon ma'am" Kira and Nathan greeted in uniform.

Good Afternoon to my favorite model" The director smiled.

Thanks so much for coming" The director shook hands with Kira.

Thanks for also choosing her" Nathan replied quickly.

Ms. Kira, the wardrobe stylist, and the costumer are busy with some models, please wait for five minutes".

Kira nodded then sat quietly with her legs crossed and her phone in her hand.

She placed her headphones in her ears and listened to the recordings Norman sent to her.

Her exams were coming in two days.

After about ten minutes, she was asked to come into the dressing room.

Kira learned one thing when she was young "Communication" and that made her successful in her modeling career.

Kira didn't like to talk or flow with people but she had to do it.

She always had a way of making the stylist, costumer, makeup artist and photographer love her.

She tried to communicate always, even if it was just a pretentious smile, it was enough.

Afternoon" Kira greeted as she walked in.

Afternoon Miss Kira, how was your trip?" the stylist asked.

Splendid".

Please have your seat, let me get the dresses".

Kira nodded and sat down.

Then Kelly Armstrong walked in. A model with class and arrogance, she never smiles or greets anyone except the director.

No one liked her but she was a very popular model and she hated one thing "Being in the same shoot as Kira Kim".

Kelly always saw her as a rival because Kira was actually better than her.

Kira's professionalism was top-notch and her style was absolutely different.

Ms. Kelly have your seat, your dress will be brought soon" The stylist's assistant said.

Let her do her makeup first, then when you are done with Ms. Kira attend to her" The director ordered.

The makeup artist started working on Kelly's face while Kira just sat there, not bothered about her surroundings.

Soon the stylist came and Kira tried varieties of dresses.

It was a commercial shoot for a perfume with a natural and plain ambiance.

A nice simple dress was to be used with slight makeup, this was a perfect role for Kira because of her natural beauty and perfect shape.

They kept trying dresses until they decided to go with a black vintage long dress.

This is amazing" The stylist commented.

Kelly walked in arrogantly "Isn't that contradicting the style".

Everyone sighed at her words "I knew this would be trouble".

They all knew that Kira wasn't the soft type so as Kelly, though, Kelly gives up first.

They expected trouble.

Kira sighed "you want to wear this right??".

Of course, it doesn't suit you".

Kira went into the dressing room and pulled off the dress, she wasn't in the mood for trouble.

"Have it" Kira stretched out her hand.

Everyone at the shoot was surprised, even the photographer stared at her.

Kelly in embarrassment stood up slowly to collect the dress, she wasn't interested in the dress at all.

I love her" Everyone started whispering.

Then the makeup artist ran hurriedly to the stylist " I found this, it should suit Kira properly"

It was a nice floral white dress, very simple and plain.

You should try this, it will be nice on you" the makeup artist smiled.

Kira went into the dressing room and changed into the dress.

It looked beautiful like it was made specially for her. Her long slender legs added elegance to the dress.

Wow, this is so much better than the black vintage dress" Everyone chuckled.

She's so professional"

She's so beautiful"

I want to be like her"

Young and upcoming models kept on commenting and thankfully it was what Kira loved the most.

Kira's shoot began and she did a great job as she does always.

Kira changed into her clothes after the shoot and greeted everyone before going.

We have to get to the airport in an hour" Nathan informed.

Kira" Someone called from behind.

Kira turned around and found Kelly, standing helplessly.

What the heck does she want" Nathan muttered.

Kira moved to Kelly.

"Please can I have your number? I have some things to discuss with you" Kelly inquired pitifully.

Sure" Kira was in a hurry and didn't have time to waste.

Kelly handed her phone to Kira and she typed her digits before leaving.

What did she say?" Nathan asked.

Kira ignored and entered the car and as usual, placed her headphones in her ears.
