Ren's POV:

With my previous conversation with Evan I decided it was best to just confront my sister on what she had done, rather then just speculate.

I had called her several times but she didn't answer. I searched every where she could be, her house, my house, her favorite tallest location, even back at Robert's cell just in case. But nope. She was nowhere to be seen.

It wasn't untill her phones location activated at a nearby supermarket did I find her. I ran as fast as I could there, just in the nick of time to grab a hold of her when she was about to leave.

I yanked on her wrist and pulled her towards me earning a Yelp in response.

"Hey! Watch it b--!"

I cut her off with a worried, angry father tone.

"Do you have any idea how much I was looking for you? How come you didn't answer your phone?"

"Oh...Ren, I just turned it off for a few hours. I didn't know you were looking for me."

I know that was a reasonable answer but my blood was boiling. I was so frustrated by being alone with my thoughts that I just exploded on her.

"You could've sent me a message before doing so!" I yelled furiously.

"Okay. I'll do that next time. But why did you wanna see me so bad?"

She shrugged off my temper with ease. Clearly she was far to used to my angry side slipping out the occasional time.

"uhh oh right." I cleared my throat, straightening out my thoughts. It'd better if we didn't have an audience.

I dragged her out of the store and into a nearby alley so less eyes would fall upon us.

"What exactly did you do with Lucas's blood? Did you exchange it for information about the cure?"

"I-uh" She twirled her fingers around each other and lowered her head in shame. I had definitely hit the nail on the head.

"Yeah. Robert told me the only way he knew of how to save Lucas."

"And?"

"And. It is becoming a vampire."

'What?' My thoughts became jumbled and I took a step back. 'Was that really the only way? Surely not. Right?'

"That can't be."

"It is. I'm sorry I should've told you earlier and not gone behind yours and Evan's backs."

"And why didn't you?....Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" I hissed, anger resonating in every word.

Layla's face scrunched up and her mouth hung open. "Are you kidding me? How could I?"

"How was I suppose to tell you that. You'd all hate me. And heck you have no right to be getting angry at me. You've done much worse then me and acted like a saint about it!"

"What are you even talking about!? You're just trying to take the blame off of yourself!"

"Ohh! so you think I didn't know what you did to Evilin!"

My heart sank at that name. I thought no one knew about Evilin. I kept that secret the most from everyone. There was no way Layla knew. She was definitely bluffing.

At that moment Lucas walked in, hands in the air and attempting to stop our bickering at each other.

If worked for a bit, but we soon were arguing again. It wasn't untill Lucas collapse onto the fall did we stop and direct all our attention towards him.
