Chapter 35: Choice Of Blood

*Aspen*

I had four vials of blood, and I could only use one. I glanced between all four of them, trying to figure out the difference…

I looked up and saw Antony across from me, dipping his finger into his vile, tasting it before he dumped it in. If only it had been that simple for me!

"Friggin, vampires…" I grumbled, squinting to see the difference.

I was struggling, and the test had been made harder by the fact I still had the scent of that rancid meat stuck in my nostrils. The medicine Rilian had given me was already wearing off, or perhaps was just no match against the poison. I was sweating bullets, my stomach felt like someone was twisting a knife. It was so hard to stay focused.

I glanced up again; Rilian had not moved. It made me nervous how intently he was staring at me. Wasn't it a little too obvious? If it were or not, it wouldn't matter if I couldn't pull this off.
