Jessie

Several minutes ago, Aurik had been guided by Horace to one of the many mansion-like buildings on the property and had been specifically taken to a larger room on the bottom floor.

The pair passed several people on the way and the large room itself had almost a dozen people inside. Aurik was reminded once again about his confusion relating to everyone's eye colour as every single person in this building had grey eyes like himself.

'I've heard the word knight used twice now and clearly those with green eyes are the ones being referenced. Horace and the other two with green eyes from before were clearly people with more influence than the woman with grey eyes that brought out the glass bowls, or any of the people we've walked passed since. What does the colour of our eyes have to do with it?'

It was one of the many questions Aurik had been pondering for a while and it was one of the ones that bugged him the most. He had tried to ask Horace a few more questions on their way here but he didn't seem to be in the mood to answer and told Aurik to just wait a bit.

Now that they had entered the large room, Aurik could see that the dozen or so people inside were all doing training of some kind. In one corner there were people boxing and performing various other kinds of hand to hand fighting, in the other corner there were people doing the same thing only with various weapons like swords and daggers.

A woman was standing near the centre of the room and seemed to be focusing quite hard on something as her eyes were closed. Aurik's eyes were drawn to this young woman just in time for him to see her body start to change.

A mist like substance started to cover her body until she was completely engulfed by it, then a young man who was standing close to her used a thick white stick he was holding and swung it at her mid section.

It was then that Aurik realized she wasn't just covered in the mist, her body had literally become mist, as instead of slamming into her body the bat went right through her like she wasn't even there. The white stick swiped away her mid section like it was any other mist and for a moment her body was split in two with the upper half floating in place.

After a few seconds the dispersed mist slowly gathered together again, repairing the missing part of her body like nothing had happened. This process repeated itself over and over again and in that time he watched this woman lose her legs, head and chest multiple times.

Just before two minutes had passed the mist started to solidify and the body of the woman returned to normal. There wasn't a single mark or injury to be seen and aside from her heavy breathing there seemed to be no side affects for whatever she had just done.

"Jessie!" Horace suddenly shouted, attracting the attention of several people in the room. The young woman who had just turned her body into mist looked over as well but unlike the rest who went back to their tasks, she quickly approached.

"You called for me, sir?" The young woman named Jessie asked as she arrived in front of the two men.

Jessie appeared to be around the age of 20 and had the same grey ayes as everyone else in the room besides Horace. Her hair was brown and curly, reaching just passed her shoulders, and her height was such that if she stood directly in front of Aurik he could give her a kiss on the forehead without having to move his head in the slightest.

She was certainly good looking, but in a normal sort of way that didn't give her much above the other women in the room. Aurik couldn't help but compare her to a certain blonde waitress but he immediately stopped doing so as he realized it would be unfair to compare other woman with Thea.

"Yes, I'd like you to meet someone." Horace smiled and gestured to Aurik. "This young man just became one of us yesterday and I'd like you to help him get accustomed to how things work around here."

Jessie looked at Aurik quizzically. "I don't understand, wasn't everything explained to him already over the past few years?" She asked as her eyes shifted back over to Horace.

"He wasn't turned through the usual method." Horace said before quickly turning around and walking away. "Have someone take him to an empty room when you're done."

As Horace swiftly left the room, Jessie looked Aurik over from head to toe before finally sticking out her hand. "I'm Jessie, and In case you didn't guess it, Horace is my mentor."

"I'm Aurik, and I have no idea what you mean by mentor." Aurik replied as he stretched his arm forward and accepted the handshake.

"Ah, right..." Jessie let out a heavy sigh as she realized that Horace was just too lazy to explain everything himself and that he had basically dumped Aurik into her lap. "Well, Why don't we just just start with the simple stuff first. Which clan will you join when you become a knight?"

"Again, I have no idea what a knight is. As for the clans, well, I don't know which one I'll end up joining."

Jessie let out an even bigger sigh than before. "I thought for sure he would have at least explained the clans and abilities to you..."

"Oh, he did. When I was being tested earlier he gave me a brief explanation."

"Then how do you not know which clan you're in? If you have their abilities then you're in their clan, simple. So which abilities do you have?" Jessie's exasperation turned into annoyance as she tried to figure just what exactly Aurik did know.

"I don't have any." Aurik said bluntly.

"What?"

"I don't have any of the clans abilities. At least, that's what they told me."
