Sam's question cut her line of thoughts and it only seemed to confuse her more.

The Nephilim have committed unspeakable massacres both in their world and in Sam's. No matter how much one thought about it, there was no easy way for them to make amends for their crimes. They either have to embrace them or allow themselves to be wiped out, and looking at their records everyone knew what would happen if they were pushed hard enough.
"Humanity has a history with those things, you know. I don't think we have found any solution." Sam said, remembering the state of the world before the Calamities attacked.
