CH 1: The Day the Weapon was Activated [1]

For Kushina Uzumaki, things had been very hectic in her life....

Ever since she arrived in Konoha, she felt like an outsider. Received as just another outsider, she was often teased by the other students during her time at the Ninja academy, even earning the nickname 'Tomato' for her rounded face and deep red hair. However, her rough temperament made her respond somewhat excessively to provocations, earning her the nickname Akashio (Red Habenero) for the beatings she gave her classmates.

It was during this period of time that she also met her future husband, Minato Namikaze... Although love did not come overnight. At first to Kushina he seemed nothing more than a skinny sissy with dreams of being Hokage, but unlike the classic show-offs, he did have potential....

As much as she resisted, it was impossible for her not to give in to the boy's natural charm and she ended up falling madly in love with him when he saved her from a kidnapping attempt by the Kumo Ninja.

While her feelings were sincere and legitimate, the powerful physical attraction that Kushina felt towards Minato was the result of carrying the Spiral Project inside her: having all the genetic potential inside her, what the seed needed to start sprouting was simply genetic material of an outstanding shinobi and based on that, that modified egg forced the Uzumaki's endocrine system to generate hormones that caused the girl to be attracted to the most talented boy in her age range.

It was in that period of time that Mito Uzumaki passed away and Kushina fulfilled the original purpose she had when she arrived in Konoha to become the next Jinchūuriki of the Kyūubi... She was in a rather strong depressive period, as just a few days after she became the Bakegitsune (Fox Demon) containment, it was that Operation Vertical quietly unfolded, with a huge group of so-called looters being blamed for the destruction of Uzushio in order to steal her Fuinjutsu secrets and her particular relics....

She was fully aware of how her village had really disappeared as her idolized Mito had told her as soon as she had arrived in Konoha so the event had not taken her by surprise.

But at the end of the day the Uzumaki had been her family.

To the world at large, with the obvious exception of the leaders, the destruction of Uzushio came as a complete shock....

A free village where many of the strongest clans had a place to live disappeared in just one night, leaving only a handful of Uzumaki who had apparently escaped the massacre, but in reality had been allowed to flee on purpose, so that the physical virtues of the redheads would be available to the world with proper control, without them having ideas dangerous to the maintenance of the existing status quo.

As a Jinchūuriki, Kushina had exceptional conditions and could not be trained by just anyone, so she received training directly from the renowned Tsunade, known as the Princess of Slugs, granddaughter of Mito Uzumaki and the Shōdaime Hokage of Konoha, Hashirama Senju. She struggled quite a bit to control the monster within her mostly because of the monster's hostility, but eventually she was able to gain voluntary control of much of her power and her ability was soon recognized.

Kushina lived through the Third Ninja War during her adolescence...

She fought using the power of the Kyuubi and was recognized by her childhood nickname. During that period of time she met the group of Ame's Orphans, three Ninja who had lost their families during the Second Ninja War and were later trained by Jiraiya, the famous Gama-sennin (Sage of Toads) and Minato's teacher. she became good friends with the three, especially with Konan, the woman of that group.

After a few days of living together during a mission, they went their separate ways...

After a few years of conflict, hard battles and painful losses, the conflict finally ended and peace could be enjoyed in the Elemental Nations.

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Sāndaime Hokage, decided that it was time to make way for a successor and Kushina was very happy when her beloved boyfriend was chosen to take such an outstanding responsibility, as he had been an outstanding war hero who gained enormous fame in the Ninkai by being able to crush entire battalions single-handedly.

In her entire life, Kushina had experienced sad moments as well as happy ones, but none like receiving the news that she was pregnant... Her joy was never so great, for from her would be born the living proof of the love she and Minato had for each other.

However, due to her nature as a Jinchūuriki, it was taken as a state secret and she was forbidden to tell it until it was flatly impossible to hide it... Although the redhead, on the sly, told the secret to her best friend Mikoto Uchiha and also sent a letter to Konan through Jiraiya's toads.

The months of Kushina's gestation were the fullest months of her life. She enjoyed every minute knowing that a new life was growing inside her... And she also shared the pregnancy together with her friend and through the letters sent with the toads, also with Ame's girl. Nothing had filled her more in life than being an ordinary woman living the development of the baby she was carrying and sharing it with her dearest ones....

And after ten months, the normal gestation period for a Jinchūuriki woman, as she knew from her experience with Mito, the time had come for the child of Yellow Flash and Red Habenero to be born....

Quite a lot of preparations were made, for during the birth of a Jinchuuriki's baby, the seal that held the beast inside would weaken and give the monster a chance to break free. Everything appropriate was done: the birth was held in a secret facility outside Konoha in absolute secrecy, the place was surrounded by ANBU to prevent any attempt of an attack on Kushina, in order for Minato to guard the seal at all times.

Thanks to those preparations, the birth of the baby, a little guy with blond hair like his father's and whisker markings on his cheeks similar to the whiskers of a fox, was a success...

However, despite all the precautions taken, a masked individual was able to infiltrate the place, kill the midwife and her medical assistant, and, to the horror of the parents, take the little boy hostage under threat of killing him if they did not hand over the Kyuubi.

Everything was very chaotic from that moment until the point when Minato found himself in front of the Kyūubi already on the outskirts of Konoha after the destruction that the monster had left in the village...

He was ready to seal the Bakegitsune inside his own son to prevent the world from becoming unbalanced in terms of the balance of power of the villages. He was going to sacrifice his life to use the Shiki Fuujin and take the Yin half of the Kyūubi's Chakra with him into the Shinigami's stomach, but at that moment, the same Kinton Chakra Chains that Kushina had to suppress the fox emerged from the little boy.

The Kyūubi watched in astonishment as in a way he believed instinctively the little one's Kekkei Genkai was activated to help his father seal it....

But the reality was that in the programming of the Ultimate Weapon, a transcription seal had been left in the genetic code of the ultimate Uzumaki to obtain the power of a Bijūu if the opportunity arose... That is why the seal reacted to the Kyūubi's Chakra and the Kekkei Genkai repressed it long enough before the astonished gaze of his parents so that the Yōndaime had the opportunity to seal it completely inside the neonate.

So it all happened that October 10th and Minato Namikaze died like a hero, completely sealing the terrible monster inside his son, before the incredulous gaze of his wife, who moments later fell unconscious to the ground from exhaustion and the fact that the Kyuubi was taken from her and the shock she felt when she saw her beloved husband die right in front of her eyes without being able to do anything for him...
