Who Are You?

"Vee! Wait for me!" Arthrisha rushed behind me while I quickened my tail.

"We'll hurry up we're going to be late for the princes party! If you wouldn't have been trying to seduce that poor man we'd been at least a little less late." I lighted jabbed her ribs and chuckled. Arthrisha was a beautiful mermaid with pink hair and a stylish pink and purple tail. She used her looks and charming demeanor to get her way no problem. 

"Whattttt can't I have a little fun every now and then!" We both laughed and hurried on to the beautiful coral castle with blue gates in front full of guards. 

"State your name and present the letter." The guard said in a stern voice. He was very tall and had a scruffy face. 

*Sounds like he'd rather be somewhere else today* I thought. But I reached out, letter in hand and stated:

"I'm Verosika MorningStar and here is my letter." He snatched it and looked at it closely and back at me. He grunted and let me through.

"I am Arthirsha Ainsley and here's my letter. I mean you could just look at me instead of the letter, I don't mind. A handsome man like you should know taste." She winked and bit her lip seductively. 

"I'd rather just do my job ma'am have a nice party." The guard kept the letter and let her in. She pouted and fluttered her hair in the water.

"Arthrisha when are you gonna learn that you can't flirt with every man you see? You're not always on a mission now we have a party to get to and then you can swim off and land one tonight, how about that huh?" She perked her head up and had twinkling eyes. I guess that cheered her up. We crossed the golden bridge and took in the beautiful scenery. Across the bridge was these beautiful red, pink, and golden flowers. There was beautiful women, men, and even some fish that they let inside who were deemed beautiful by the royals. We reached the two doors to the castle that were wide open welcoming the public and swam to a buffet type atmosphere. Merpeople eating, chatting, and dancing. 

"What do you want to do first!" Arthrisha was having a hard time containing her excitement and bumped into a butler with her tail "Omg I'm so sorry, I'll watch my tail!" She hung her head low and curled her tail in. "It's ok madam. I must be off" he quickened his haste and went into another room. 

"Let's go eat." We hurried off to the food and something caught my eye. A very handsome merman was chatting with what looked like elite merpeople. Laughing and cracking jokes with them. His hair was dirty blonde with blue eyes. His torso was quite built and had a six pack. My eyes trailed down to his tail but unfortunately it was covered with a shawl. I looked back to his eyes and he was already looking at me. 

*Ah! What am I thinking right now! I can't believe I just got caught gawking at that man" I quickly averted my eyes and squeeze them shut to swipe the thought away then opened to kept my focus of the enormous amount of food they had at my disposal. I really love food and once I get to eating, no one shall touch my food unless they want a fork in their hand.

*Who was that?* was all I could think of.
