Kalix Noah's POV
I suddenly remembered what my wife said at that time. In that court meeting, I saw the pain and hatred in her eyes while she was telling Viscount Ruben about the crimes that Red Lily committed.
"The world is not as beautiful as you can see your majesties. Do you know why noble families were looked up to? It's not only because of their rich status. Their power to trample on one's dignity and that's what poor and normal people want," she stops talking after taking a bite of the parfait she orders.
She sips her coffee. This conversation is much heavier than I expected. I understand why she acts like that as soon as she realizes that Earl Vektas didn't keep his promise.
"Let's just enjoy the food and speak with our parents later on. This is more than just a betrayal from an Earl," I remarked.
