After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She thought that she could bear with this her entire life, until she accidentally got pregnant with a child that Michael did not want. Finally despondent, Wendy signed the divorce agreement and left. She thought they could have parted ways forever, but Michael refused to stop looking for her after the divorce. When they met again, she was the world's top designer. Wendy Stewart did not have to remain warded this time and headed home after collecting her prescription.
The difference was that Michael Lucas prohibited Wendy from returning to work at the office.
Wendy had been pushing herself at work recently so resting at home was a good change.
It was exactly four in the afternoon when they left the hospital.
Leah and Jake Stewart would be dismissed from school at four thirty, so Wendy wanted to pick them up from school.
Turning to Michael who was at the wheel, she said, "Let's go pick Jake and Leah up from school. I'm sure it would make them happy to see us waiting for them at the school gates."
"With your body in this state, it would do you good to rest at home. Let me pick them up later," Michael suggested as he was still worried about Wendy.
"I'm okay, this isn't work after all," Wendy insisted.
After some thought, Michael agreed.
