After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She thought that she could bear with this her entire life, until she accidentally got pregnant with a child that Michael did not want. Finally despondent, Wendy signed the divorce agreement and left. She thought they could have parted ways forever, but Michael refused to stop looking for her after the divorce. When they met again, she was the world's top designer. Smiling sweetly at her ex-husband, she said, "My dear, we're already divorced." Michael simply stared at her coldly, "Tell me, what will it take for us to reconcile?"
"Like your sister?" Wendy quietly mumbled to herself, but she recalled what Winnie had told her.
She said that Michael had a woman he loved dearly. He was willing to break all ties with his family for her.
Was that woman not Yvonne Taylor?
Wendy had wanted to keep that incident in her heart and not bring it up, but she also realized that she could not help thinking about that incident.
She decided to ask Michael about it.
Wendy put down her cutlery and looked up at Michael, her face and tone serious.
"Michael, do you have a lover whom you love so much that you wanted to file for divorce and leave me for her?"
"Lover?" Michael froze momentarily and then laughed. "I don't have a lover."
Wendy examined Michael's eyes closely as if she was trying to read something from them.
"Wendy, all you had was a nightmare last night. Don't keep dwelling on it," Michael said. His heart was in a panic, but he kept a straight face.
