Alka decided to step up. She did not want the person who keeps her sane these days to walk in the arms of another woman. To gain his trust and him, she was willing to do anything. 

"Check whether Mr. Bang is free today," she asked her secretary to contact Chris's office and find out. She did not want to go and disturb him. "I know he doesn't like my surprise visits," she told herself. She looked at the piled up documents on her table and looked at her secretary again. She raised her eyebrows. 

"These are the files requiring your approval ma'am. They have been here for past four days. The managers are waiting," said Mili. 

"I was busy. I had other works to take care of," Alka lied to cover up her negligence and

ignorance. She signed a few randomly and she checked the time. 

"Did you see where my driver has gone?" Alka enquired.

"No ma'am---" Mili hesitated. "Heard.. he is not well, and took off," she completed.
