THE SLEEPOVER
The girls had matching outfits on and had their face masks on already....Stella brought the popcorn and Alex brought the drinks...
"Hope you brought the movies?"..Alex asked Stella with a mouth full of popcorn...
"Of course I did"....Stella replied bringing out the movies from her bag pack....
"So when are we gonna talk about that crush of yours"....Stella said looking at Alex with eager eyes
" C'mon he's not my crush!"....Alex yelled as she blushed
"Then what exactly is he to you?"...Stella asked with a raised brow.
"Ohh Stella he's just someone"....Alex said shly.
"Well since you aren't ready to talk about him, let's talk about something else... aren't you gonna ask me why I didn't pick you up this morning?"Stella said not looking at Alex.
"Oh yh I thought my mom called to tell you I won't be going to school..."...Alex replied
"Yh she did but I was already in school by that time"....Stella said
"Ohhh so why did you show up,you always do"...Alex asked Stella as she picked a handful of popcorn to chew
"My dad...."Stella said.
Alex stopped chewing the popcorn in her mouth and she froze and stared at Stella.
" C'mon what's with the look....it's not like he's dead or anything...at least not yet"....Stella said
"Hey!....Alex shouted as she slapped Stella's lap
"Jeez.... didn't nobody ever tell you you've got strong hands for a girl..."Stella said rubbing her lap
"Stop with the jokes already....what did he do this time"...Alex asked with a serious and concerned look on.
"Well nothing he hasn't already done before...he came home drunk,with his truck bashed....
"Oh my God!"....Alex said covering her mouth with her two hands..
"Was there an accident?,was he hurt?"....she asked as she slowly removed her hands from her lips
"Well apparently ....there was,he drove when he was drunk and dumped he into a tree...and he got some bad bruises from the owner of the Bar too.
"Huh?... what?...I don't understand..."Alex said confused
"The bar owner had him badly beat up cause he said he would pay for everyone's order but then he couldn't..."
"What the...why would he do such!...Alex said as she was almost yelling.
"What other reason he was drunk of course..."Stella said
"That's why you didn't so show today...Stella am so sorry"...Alex said
" C'mon there's no need to be and besides that's not why I didn't pick you up....you think he explained all that to me?....that man didn't even wanna look at my face"...Stella said
"So did you find out then?...Alex asked.
"Well .....
STELLA AND HER DAD....
Mr Thomas, Stella's dad came home that night staggering,as it was obvious he was drunk.
As he got home,he just sat on the couch.
Stella who was lying in her room got a call ,and it was from a bar,the owner said her dad didn't pay his debt and he beat him up and that she should pay soon....he said she should also take him to the hospital cause he saw her dad bump into a tree while driving drunk....she became furious as she went to wait for her dad in the living room...to her surprise he was already there....
"DAD how could you!....it's fine for you to get drunk and waste yourself ...I don't bloody care!why would you involve me in it huh!...now am supposed to pay for your mess huh!.....this is 50 dollars dad!... stella said furiously.
Her dad just sat there motionless
As she was headed back to her room...she looked through the door and saw the truck damaged
She just looked at her dad who didn't even move
Then she yelled at him "what is wrong with you!!!!....Don't you have something to do with you life apart from making mine hard huh!!!
Just then her father stared at her, got up and hit her
"Don't you ever talk to me in that tone ever! Am still your father you hear me!"her dad said
"Then fucking act like it!!!"....Stella said crying out
"Did you just swear at me huh!".... her dad said as he staggering towards her...
Stella just kept on moving backwards...and he hit her again
"You are just like your miserable mother you that right!".....Mr Thomas said...
And just then Stella had had enough already
"Dad am tired ok!don't even bring mom in this!....fine c'mon hit me like you hit her!...put me in the hospital!then go buy alcohol inside of paying my bill!...mom could have been here!,she could have still been with me!!!!!..... Stella said as she broke down..
She was Ill instead of saving her life you went to buy alcohol... dad!!!! Do you know how much I hated you for that huh!!!....do you know how hard life is for me!....I feel like I don't even have a father!.... Stella said as her eyes were all swollen now
"I lost mom,all I ever wanted was for you to be there for me!... instead you drink and drink cause trouble and make me clean your messes!...."
"For Christ sake am just 17,and my life already feels like a living hell!....and you are supposed to be my father!!
Mr Thomas just stood there as he watched Stella climb the stairs to her room
And one could say her words hit him...
The next morning Stella had to walk to school very early,cos there was no truck and cause she needed to walk off the anger she felt...
BACK TO THE SLEEPOVER
"so yh that's why I wasn't able to come,I normally don't let him get to me,but I just had enough that night"...Stella said
"Am so sorry,am sure he would stop drinking and be a better person...and a better d
Father".... Alex said sadly
"Ahhh....jeez Stella!"....Stella said covering her ears
"Now this is why I hate telling people my problems,they give assurance everything is gonna be fine,get better,it's all a matter of time... blah blah blah"....Stella said rolling her eyes
"But they will...trust me"...Alex said putting her hand on Stella's lap
"You give assurance to people,when you aren't sure yourself...."Stella said
"My dear Alex"....Stella said taking Alex hand off her lap....
"Don't turn to a liar just to make me feel better....you know am always okay even if I hear the bitter truth"...Stella said smiling at Alex as she ruffled Alex's hair
Alex shocked by Stella's words, cause they were actually kinda true,she didn't think Stella's dad would change... atleast not anytime soon,she only wanted to make her friend feel better.
Stella had issues of her own but is always there for her,Alex couldn't think of a day Stella wasn't by her side when she needed it...now that she thinks of it she felt lucky to have Stella..
"I love you".... Alex said hugging Stella.
"Hey what's with you...I love you too"...Stella hugging her back,but with a confused look on her face
"I love you more, nothing is wrong with me,I just love you and want to stay like this forever"...Alex said with a smile as she hugged Stella even tighter.
"Ok now this Just got even weirder....stella said trying to free her self from Alex,but Alex didn't let go.
"Speaking of weird"....stella said as she successful freed her self from Alex's grip.
"Jacob was searching for you like crazy today in School".... Stella said.
"Huh, what?...me?,no way,what did he want...to find out where I was so he could tell me how me and Jason had no CHEMISTRY....Alex said rolling her eyes.
"No he wanted to apologize.... and I think he means it"....Stella said
"What!... don't make me laugh,Jacob and apology are two things that do not go together"...Alex said laughing.
"Yh so I thought too, he was searching for you in the whole school,he even wanted me to take him to your house".....stella said again.
"WOW...that's strange,I guess he really must be scared of his dad coming to school or something"....alex said
"Yh maybe,but I don't think his dad came though,but he was awfully quiet in classes today"....Stella said
"Ohhhh I see"...Alex said as she ate more popcorn.
"But it would be fun to see him actually apologize don't you think.... Stella said as she giggled.
"Hahaha very funny also"...Alex said as she laughed.
"It's just sad,I mean the guy is cute,I won't lie,he just had to be a big bully"....Stella said drinking some juice.
"Ermm cough cough, I've seen cuter"... Alex said.
"Oh oh here we go....am sure this about that dude in the park ayy?....stella said as she smiled teasingly.
Alex blushing as she covered her eyes with her two hands...
" Ok ok fine I'll tell you"....Alex said as she kept on smiling.
"Ahhh finally!"..... Stella said as she adjusted herself to face Stella.
"Ok so I decided to go for a run in the parks but Mrs Gabriel wanted me to walk Layla for her"...Alex said
"Oh Layla the cute lil poodle?...Stella asked
"Yh that's the one..."
"So we went for a walk and then Layla saw a squirrel and chased it like crazy"....
"What!. ..I didn't know poodles chased squirrels, always thought of them as innocent adorable dogs"...Stella said eating popcorn..
"Yh my thoughts exactly,so that's when I met him...".
"Ohhh oh.. .here's it...stella said as she smiled ..
"Caleb helped me get Layla under control and blah blah blah,we went for a stroll"...
"How romantic".....Stella said smiling crazy.
"Stella you are crazy"....Alex said hitting her lap
"So he said he's new in town,so I offered to show him a few places ..... we're meeting on Saturday again"....Alex said clapping her hands in obvious excitement.
"Wow fast move girl,... Saturday that's like...next tomorrow,you go girl!"...stella winking at Alex..
"Well... he also got my number and said he might call tonight"...Alex said blushing again.
"Thank God am here".... Stella excitedly said.
"But erm that reminds me hope you're coming to school tomorrow"...stella asked
"Yh of course,I've already missed today"....Alex replied.
Then few moments later the girls settled down and where now watching a movie,the Alex went to the bathroom to wash off her cloth that got stained by some fruit juice stella spilled on her,when they watched a scary scene in the movie.
"Alex your phone is ringing!!".... Stella said with her eyes still glued to the TV.
"Huh but am not expecting any call, Who's calling by this time?"....Alex said from the bathroom.
"Errm it's an unsaved number".... ohhh what if it's that Caleb dude?....Stella said as she grabbed the phone...
And in less than two seconds Alex rushed out if the bathroom...then grabbed her phone form Stella.
"Hello!.....I mean... hello?....she said as she reduced her voice the second time
"Woah ..is now not a good time?,I mean I can call tomorrow?.....it's Caleb by the way"....caleb said.
"No!....now is perfect.... totally perfect"....Alex said..
" Speaker!.... put in on speaker"...Stella mummured.....
And Alex did
"So this is your number right?"... Alex asked.
"Yep,make sure you save it"....caleb said.
"Of course"....Alex said smiling
"To be honest,I didn't think you would actually call though"....Alex said
"What...are you for real, c'mon I just made a friend and you thought i wouldn't call....you must be kidding"...Caleb said laughing at the other end of the call.
And Stella just ate her popcorn smiled as she watched Alex receiving the call.....like she was watching some kind of movie.
"Alright alright Caleb".... Alex said
"So what are you up too?.... Caleb asked.
"Oh nothing much, just Having a sleepover with a friend".....
"Best friend actually!!!"...Stella said as she yelled towards Alex's phone smile.
"Stella what the...".....Alex said pushing her away.
"Oh am I on.. speaker?....Caleb said
"Ermm yh .... sorry my friend can get a little bit crazy and OUT OF CONTROL SOMETIMES"... Alex said as she glared at Stella...who smiled at her a d threw popcorn on her face
"Oh I see,but could you maybe.... not put me on speaker....it's kinda weird, now that I know am on Speaker"....Caleb said..
"oh yh totally!...I get that".... Alex said as she turned off the speaker.
Stella just gave a frown and she stood up form the ground and went to lye on the bed .
"So where were we?".....Alex said with a smile.
After a while Alex ended her call.
"Finally it's over!.....jeez Louise Alex!....Stella said.
Alex just couldn't stop smiling
"Well am glad you are getting over jason"...Stella said with a smile
"Ahh, Stella seriously!....you just had to ruin the moment with that name...ahhh!"...Alex said as she got up irritated.
"Ahhh fine....am sorry ...ok?,it's cool ....Caleb is cool though...Stella said.
"Yh he is..... can't wait to see him on Saturday".....Alex said as she threw herself on the bed next to Stella
