Next few day went by without any incidents. Alan healed the guards and their family members and even their friends who came seeking his help. Every morning he carried out his healing work and after Lunch went out to explore the city and its surroundings. Usually Kristian would accompany him. During this time she developed liking towards Alan, a strong and capable young man who can do wonders using his healing skills. Not only that, he was even a great swordmaster.
In the blink of an eye more than two weeks went by and soon the day came when Alan decided to continue his journey.
"Your grace, my lady, Kristina, I would like to take my leave from the delta city tonight. I would like to continue my journey and explore the rest of this kingdom. I sincerely thank you for the wonderful hospitality I received during my stay here." Alan bowed to the Duke and his wife and nodded his head at Kristina with a warm smile.
Everyone looked stunned for a moment and felt sad at his sudden declaration of leaving the Delta city. Kristina especially felt heartbroken. She had became close to Alan and had developed some feelings towards him during these couple of weeks. Unfortunately she had to accept the fact that, he will be going to leave them and she can't do anything to stop him or make him stay for a few more days.
Although she knew they can't be together forever, she can't help but fall for Alan. In her view, he was a perfect man a lady can ask for. And now she had to send him with a big smile on her face. Inwardly she was suffering with a strange kind of pain. Her heart was heavy with sadness and was refusing to let him go.
Alan on the other hand refused to accept any gold or weapons or any other kind of valuable treasures form the Duke. He instead gave some medicine to lady Dyna and instructed her to take it on time for a nex few days. He gave a few vials of antidotes to the Duke to keep their family safe in case a similar incident occurred.
That night after dinner, Alan bade then farewell and walked out of the Castle, towards the stable to fetch his old traveling partner.
" Will I be able to see you again?" A melodious but sad voice came to Alan's from the darkness behind him.
He knew it was Kristina, "I will definately try to come and visit you on my way back home." He knew how Kristina was feeling but he had never saw her for anything else except as a good friend.
Taking a deep breath, he turned towards her and smiled. "Kristina, you are an amazing girl. I know how you feel towards me, but I had always considered you as a good friend."
Tears filled Kristina's eyes and spilled out. Alan wiped her tears and tousled her hairs with a warm smile. Kristina hugged him and started to cry. Stunned for a second, Alan didn't knew how to respond but then he hugged her back and consoled her.
The Duke and his wife watched this from their window helplessly and felt sad for her daughter.
After a few min, Kristina stepped back, wiped her eyes and smiled warmly. "Have a safe journey Alan. If you find someone special in your journey, do let me know." Her heart felt heavey while she said that, but her words were sincere. She truely wanted Alan to be happy.
Alan smiled and nodded. "Kristina, keep smiling and alway be happy. Take this. Its a communication medallion. Break it, if you or your family are in any danger. I will know about it and will try to come to you as soon as I can."
Kristina took it and smiled at Alan. She knew he will keep his promise. She nodded her head and waved her hand to Alan who started to walk waving his hand.
In a few seconds Alan disappeared into the night, leaving Kristina alone looking into the direction where his silhouette had disappeared.
