John took a deep breath. "Alan might have been poisoned when he extracted it."

"What...!!!" Everyone was shocked.

Jane was the quickest to respond, "You mean, he extracted it from the snakes himself?"

John nodded, "Not only did he extract it, but he was the one to catch all those snakes."

This time, no one spoke. After several seconds, John continued.

"Whatever I am about to tell you now, I urge everyone not to repeat it outside."

With everyone giving their consent by nodding, John continued, "Alan is not your normal 10-year-old child. He is extraordinary in many ways. Do you remember the conversation between Alan and Captain Kevin?" Everyone nodded, eager to know more.

"When we were about a month into our journey, we encountered a pack of wolves at night." Everyone gasped.

"How did you all make it out unscathed? If I remember correctly, I saw everyone return unscathed, minus one horse. Is that not true?" James asked.

John nodded. "Yes, and it's thanks to Alan that there were no casualties." James raised an eyebrow in question.

"Alan took down 23 fully grown wolves, including the pack leader, single-handedly."

Elizabeth and Jane felt dizzy and took a seat behind them. James shook his head in disbelief and looked at Helen. She also nodded, confirming the extraordinary feat.

"That's not even the most surprising part. There were a total of 25 wolves in the group. Eight of us easily took down two wolves with arrows. They were sprinting toward our group, and fortunately, we had a clear view of them. The remaining 23 wolves targeted the horses. Alan was the one who noticed their presence and alerted us.

"Let's indulge in a small guessing game," John grinned mischievously. Helen and Elizabeth exchanged glances and rolled their eyes. James and Jane groaned in frustration at their father's antics.

"Father, please..." Jane pleaded.

John smiled and continued, "Imagine the horses are about 30 meters away from us, and the wolves are already sprinting at full speed, approximately 100 meters away. Who do you think will reach the horses first?"

James shook his head and said with exasperation, "Obviously, the wolves will reach first."

John then looked at Jean and Elizabeth, both nodding in agreement with James.

Wrong..... John shook his head looking triumphant.

"Enough fooling around John. Please tell us about the incident". Elizabeth glared at him. John sighed. Alright, alright I will tell you the details.

It was Alan who reached the horses first.

Father, please don't fool arount. James also said sarcastically.

He is not following around dear. Helen smiled with a chagrin.

Jame looked from Helen to John and then back to Helen and sighed. Ok father please continue.

That's not even the surprising part. The awesome part is,the wolves were not not even able to reach. They fell short, all sliced in 2 by more than 20 meters from the horse.

James's body became stiff. Elizabeth and Jane jumped from where they were sitting and slumperd back after few seconds.

Is that even possible? Elizabeth asked softly and looked at Helen, who noded solemnly confirming John's tale.

Room feel into a complete silence for almost a minute.

Unbelievable.... truely Unbelievable said Jane.

The only suffering we had on that day was a 4 inch wound on Alans left forearm.

Everyone looked at his forearm and found a thin healed wound mark. After a few seconds of silence....

"And I thought my son is the only combat maniac like my father here", James sighed in disbelief. Both Jean and Elizabeth nodding at his comment.

Is that so.... "But he looks so adorable" Helen commented.

Laughter filled the room. "Indeed, he is, but his love for combat skills and fighting was becoming a concern. To divert his focus, we introduced him to healing. Fortunately, he developed an interest in it. Now, instead of worrying about him brawling in the streets every day, we only receive a couple of reports a week," Jean said, smiling fondly.

"Enough about him. Please continue, Father," James encouraged John.

"James, William can take down 2 to 3 grown adults or even a veteran C-Class adventurer. I once witnessed him giving Captain Kevin a run for his money, even though the Captain wasn't exerting his full strength, right?"

James and Jean both nodded in agreement.

"What's happening to children these days? Can't they enjoy a normal childhood?" Helen asked in surprise.

"Look who's talking," John grinned mischievously, earning a pillow thrown at his face by Helen.
