Alan woke up

Unbelievable..., Truely Unbelievable.... Jane mused. Everyone noded in agreement.

It is getting late, let us given Helen some time to rest. Helen you have also not slept since 2 days. Take some rest now. I will come in the morning with breakfast. Hope to see Alan join us on the dinner table tomorrow evening." Elizabeth said getting us from her seat. Everyone noded in agreement and left the room after that.

Helen sighed, looked at her grandson with a fond look, checked his condition and once satisfied that, she sleep on the other cot.

Next morning Alan looked in much better condition. His body temperature was also normal now.

Meanwhile Alan felt he was in a dark and cold place, which felt odd. He looked around but was unable to find anything. He groped around in the darkness which felt like several hours. When he was about to give up trying, he felt his hand touch a wall, hard and smooth.

He tried to find a door or an opening but was unable to. He tried to push but it did not budge. After trying and testing many things, he decide to used the force and try breaking the wall.

He started punching the wall. After several punches he felt his hand go numb and felt immense pain. To his relief he started noticing cracks form on the wall, took a deep breath and punched it again using all his strength one last time.

The wall gave in this time forming a big hole where he had punched. Bright light suddenly assaulted hism and he shielded his eyes immediately, and went outside after few seconds.

Alan started walking forward, turned back and was surprised to see the room he was in was enormous & oval shaped.

He heard voices ahead and approached a square-shaped room with a glass window. Inside, he saw five people having dinner – an old couple, a middle-aged couple, and a girl around 8 or 9 years old. A familiar sensation hit him.

His eyes started tearing up and felt his vision go blurry, tried to blink and looked at them carefully. At that precise moment he heard a familiar voice seemed to travel to him from a far.

He tried to look around but didn't see anyone. Even the black dome was gone. He took a few steps back towards the dome and found Helen standing there looking around for him.

Alan...., Alan..., my dear boy, what happened? Helen was lokking around for him, a worried expression on her face. Alan smiled with relief, jogged over to her side tears still in his eyes. She felt relieved and stretched out a hand. Alan took it.

All of a sudden he felt that he was on a soft and comfortable and had difficulty opening his eyes.He heard his grandma calling his name with a bit of worry in her voice. " What happened my dear ? Why are you crying? Do you feel any discomfort or any pain? Please tell me, your grandma is here and will take care of it.

She sounded like in tears now . This made Alan to open his eyes suddenly and tightened his grip which his grandmother was holding.

Helen looked up teary eyed and saw Alan wiping his own tears. He looked around in confusion and asked, what happened grandma? How did I came to bed? I remeber to be on my way to the dinner. Is it not? Alan enquired.

Helen let out a relieved laughter. Nothing to worry about my dear. You are alright now. Everything is fine, she caressed his head.

"How are you feeling now? Do you have any pain, any discomfort or any kind of uneasiness?" Helen probed him.

He shook his head and said that everything was fine. "Then why were you crying my dear? Helen asked in confusion.

This brought the memory of the ones he saw in his dream. He smiled sadly saying, " Nothing grandma. It was a dream that's all."

Helen sighed with relief. " It had been 2 days since you were sleeping. Go get yourself cleaned. It's almost time for dinner. I will instruct the maid to go and inform Elizabeth that we will be joining them for dinner tonight."

Alan was surprised to here that he was sleeping for 2 days, he got up and went to get himself clean. Helen went to the next door to instruct the maid.
