Chapter 41: Kral

Cairo and Del can be seen walking around the wide halls of the Royal Palace. Their faces have quite a passive impression on them as if everything is normal

Del is a powerful mage that has a lot of experience while Cairo is a youth that might be inexperienced but also knows how to act in certain situations

The two weren't even that afraid of being caught. After all, who would have thought that thousands of Soul Crystal Shards will be inside the pockets of a mere kid?

No normal people in their right mind would let a kid carry such precious objects and it became the perfect cover for them. The two were completely acting normal and no matter who looks at them, they wouldn't think that they are up into something

After a few more steps, the two made a left turn but coincidentally, Cairo bumped into someone

"A-ahh! I'm sorry for bumping into you!" The man that Cairo bumped into said in a hurry and his voice was filled with sincerity

When Cairo raised his head to look at the person that bumped into him, his eyes violently trembled

In return, the man just smiled at that and thought that Cairo had that reaction because of his appearance

The man has clothes that covered his body except for his face and one can clearly see the veins in them. It looks as if the man doesn't have any skin as his veins are completely visible and it made quite a gruesome sight

"I'm sorry kid" the man said before walking away. He was already used to the looks that people gave to him and Cairo's reaction was completely normal. In fact, other people would have a more violent reaction

However, that was not the reason that Cairo's eyes trembled after looking at the man. It was because a memory starts playing in his head again as soon as he saw the man's face and to put it simply ... Cairo doesn't like the memory he had

"Del, who is that man?" Cairo asked his guard while looking at the man's back

Del was confused at why Cairo would ask something like this. Based on what Del knows about Cairo, the kid isn't someone that will be offended by a person accidentally bumping on him. Just why is Cairo seems so interested in that man?

"From the insignia in his clothes, I think he is not even from our Kingdom. The red flower is the symbol of the nearby Bloodflow Kingdom" Del replied but Cairo isn't content by just that

"Any more information about him?" Cairo asked and Del raises his brows but still have him an answer

"That man is quite famous throughout the nearby Kingdoms. He has a birth defect making it so that he will often be sick and a lot of people also bullied him before because of his appearance"

"However, because of the way he grew up, he learned how to be kind to other people and he became a successful merchant that always helps a lot of people. His most famous item is the Kral's Blood Serum named after him. That serum is the same as the other serum but its effect and price is what makes it appealing "

"Also, the Bloodflow Kingdom despite its name is quite a kind and neutral Kingdom making it so that the surrounding Kingdoms like trading with him. The Bloodflow Kingdom has a lot of bloodthirsty beasts and plants, it can deter invaders from other Kingdoms but it also hindered them from exiting their own Kingdom. Hence, the real reason for the neutrality "

Cairo's eyes widened because of Del's words and he tightened his fist. "Does Larton Kingdom have a lot of trade with him in the past?" Cairo asks that just made Del more curious at why he is acting like this

"I'm afraid not. The former King is a harsh one. Kral already had his goods be sold at an extremely low price but the King would want to get foreign goods with an even cheaper price"

"It was fine for the other merchants that have high-profit margin but Kral is different. He cannot lower his price any further or he would suffer great losses"

"However, I think the Queen will want to have a cooperation with him. His blood serum is extremely cheap for its price after all"

Now that Cairo looks at where he was, he realizes that this area is extremely close to the Royal Court and Kral might just finish a meeting with the Queen

Cairo didn't waste any more time and he continued walking towards the Royal Court while his walking speed increases. Cairo even forgot his manners and directly opened the court's door before his eyes went wide open in shock

"No! Sister!" Cairo shouted and he activated a body strengthening magic in his legs to increase his speed

Cairo also controlled a whip made from sands and he tried using it to slap away the syringe that has a bloody red content inside it

Kira was shocked at Cairo's sudden actions and it gave the kid a chance to slap the syringe away. Fortunately, the serum has extraordinary effects and the glass syringe wasn't destroyed as it has a high quality

"Cairo, what are you doing?" Kira asked with a frown. Why does her little brother have this kind of reaction to the serum?

Even Kira only has a few of those serums as it was extremely pricey. Not all mage can afford them. If Cairo broke the syringe and the contents spilled, it would really be a huge waste

"Sister, don't use any serums from Kral!" Cairo said while puffing. It's not that his earlier action is tiring, it was because his heart starts beating extremely fast after he saw Kira almost injecting the serum into her body

"What do you mean?" Kira asked with knitted brows and Cairo gritted his teeth. He only knows Kral from his past memories but who knows if the man is different now? Cairo doesn't have proof that Kral will do something bad to the serums

However, Cairo's heart won't settle down after he learned what kind of person Kral is. That man is a two-faced devil! But ... how can Cairo explain himself?

Seeing Cairo's struggling expression, Kira's heart softened. "What is it? You can tell me, I will listen to you" Kira said gently and Cairo calmed himself by repeatedly taking deep breaths

"S-sister ... c-can you trust me?" Cairo asked unsurely and Kira gave him a sweet smile. "Of course, I do, what kind of question is that?"

"T-then ... c-can you not personally use that serum? Please only let weak and unimportant people use them first. I don't know if I'm right but ... Kral .... he might be into something evil ... "Cairo said and a frown appeared on Kira's face

"Cairo, you know that the Kingdom desperately needs to foster strong mages. Both the thing you made and this serum is extremely important, the serum must be given to the talented mages soon" Kira replied. Although she completely trusts Cairo, she still can't make such rash decisions easily

Cairo also knows of this but he currently has no proof. "C-can you at least give me a few weeks? If in that time I still haven't gotten any proof, you can do whatever you want with the serum. Can you please do that?"

Seeing how serious Cairo looks, Kira doesn't have a choice but to compromise. "I'll give you two weeks of time. In the meantime, the priority of the serum will be given to the prisoners that are now slaves"

Prisoners are really hot commodities. They are just not used for experimentation, they are also low-cost troops. As long as they are given the slave marks, the Kingdom only needs to give them food to survive. These prisoner slaves don't need to be given any kind of salary

In this way, no officials would make too big of a ruckus with Kira's decision. Some of them might also want to see if the serums are really safe and don't have any kind of bad side effects. Using it to the prisoners isn't that bad of a choice

"Okay, thank you sister!" After that, Cairo bowed his head before giving the spatial ring that contained all the Crytal Soul Shards to Kira and he exited the Royal Court in a hurry

"Del, full speed to my laboratory. I also want detailed information on Kral's journey since he was still a kid. I want to know him as much as possible. Also, give me some information about the Bloodflow Kingdom and the changes in them for the past years "

Del nodded his head at that and helps to Cairo fly in the air while also giving out orders to other people. Del's main job is maintaining Cairo's safety, jobs such as this are something to be given to other people

Del doesn't know what made Cairo think of Kral as the bad guy and he can only hope that the kid is wrong. After all, Kral's serum is effective and cheap, it is something that the Larton Kingdom greatly needs
