Chapter 44

Book I Chapter 44

Hyuna cracked her neck and patted the dust on her robe as she lowered her stance while looking at the fire wolf king in front of her.

She could now tell the strength of the beast.

Luckily for her, her Qi barrier talisman was able to protect her from that thing's powerful strike; if not then she would have already been wounded heavily.

"No wonder a few Outer Sect and Inner Sect disciples fell in the hands of this beast and its two companions…" she thought as she already experienced battling with the three beasts.

After experiencing their strength, Hyuna is confident that she could not best those three in a 3 versus one battle.

With the combination of those three, she is sure that even a Law Perception realm cultivator will not be a match for them.

But of course, that is if she adds that despicable human behind the scene controlling everything.

While observing her opponent, she could not help but took a glance at Il Kwan on the side. Seeing the battle between the two, she could not help but admire the guy for still holding his ground ever after that wound of his.

"I need to end this now…" she thought as she wanted to play the beauty in shining armor saving a handsome fellow in distress.

Thinking to that point, she could not help but show a faint smile on her gorgeous face.

But then her attention suddenly came back to the fight as the beast took this chance that she was not paying attention a do a sneak attack.

A fireball was actually shot from the beast's mouth and came flying at her like a speeding bullet.

"Damn this thing…" she could not help but cursed out loud as she suddenly crossed her two blades.

Clang!

Hyuna's petite body was sent flying to the wall once again and this time, she spat a mouthful of blood.

This is not due to her hitting the wall, but instead the energy ripple from that fireball.

She now could feel like her innards are being roasted by the flame energy ripple which has hit her invisibly.

"That was cheating…" she muttered while gritting her teeth in pain.

Hyuna could not help but feel a bit resentful of the beast that is being controlled by that cultivator behind it.

She is still practicing and trying to accustom herself to the new speed and strength she just created, so she felt like her opponent is taking advantage of it and for her, that was cheating.

As she spat another mouthful of blood, she slowly picks herself up from the ground.

"What's the matter, little guy? Is this all you've got?" an annoying voice jeered her from the shadows.

Feeling a bit annoyed, Hyuna smirked and shakes her head as she held on tightly to her blades.

"Hehe… Do you think that you've already beaten me? Those are deliberate mistakes…" she replied trying to act cool.

But one could tell that she is already struggling with the effect of the fireball heat energy in her body.

"You are just a mortal after all… I just wonder how you were able to control energy. Hmm… I am now curious and want to open you up… Hehehe…" the voice said with a chuckle.

Hyuna glared at the beast and suddenly moved her body to the left and right in rapid succession.

Her image began to blur and soon she was able to now create two images of herself. It was like she just created a doppelganger which suddenly astonished the person behind the beast.

This technique is new to him as he did not expect that the Urokai Sect would have such a technique. He is from the sect and is trying to get his revenge. When he was in the sect he had read many of its books and knew almost all of its fighting techniques. That is the reason why most of the disciples are not able to defeat his beasts.

But the one he is seeing right now is different.

This technique is something that he has not read before.

"It's my turn now…" two voices echoed inside the dungeon which startled the man.

Then he saw two figures rushing at the beast.

"Hehe… Nice trick but I know that there is only one of you… You cannot trick me…" he said as he suddenly commanded the fire wolf king to swipe its large claws at the figure on the right.

Clang!

The figure was sent flying and the man smirked.

But that figure easily dissipated the fire wolf king's attack and landed without a hitch on the ground.

This made the fire wolf king a bit confused. But suddenly it felt a pang of pain from its side.

It then saw a figure standing beside it with glowing daggers on hand already inserted at its side. The pain that it felt made it howl shaking the whole cave in the process.

This slightly jolted Hyuna as she staggered to the side of the beast.

Before she knew it, she was already sent flying as the beast kicked her small body with its hind paw.

That strike broke another of her barriers and she spat another mouthful of blood upon hitting a wall. She knew that she might have broken a couple of bones from that strong impact.

But she dare not pass out at this time because she knew that passing out at this point in time means death.

But her vision started to turn blurry as she saw the large beast moving towards her.

With a wave of her hand, she connected her two blades and suddenly made it spin like a buzzsaw.

Supported by the rune array on its surface, the spinning of the two blades became faster and faster creating a humming sound.

"Eat this!" Hyuna shouted as she threw the spinning blade toward her target.

Buzz!!!

The fire wolf king was a bit taken aback as fear crept on its face.

The person controlling the fire wolf king knew what that thing is. It was the same weapon that crippled him and robbed him of his chance of revenge.

Who would have known that he would see it again this time?

His resentment towards this fellow has risen higher and he now decided to stop playing with the guy and kill him so that he could vent his anger.

As the fire wolf king dodges the attack it suddenly rushes at Hyuna who is leaning on the cave's wall.

"I will kill you!" he shouted as the large beast lifted its large paws in the air and charged right at her.

Suddenly, it felt a pang of pain as a shadow appears on its side.

Who would have known that the same figure of the young man would have plunged his dagger into one of the fire wolf king's eyes at this time?

But that figure was easily dealt with by the beast's paw as it shredded the figure into three before the fire wolf king would fall to the ground in a sorry manner.

The figure suddenly vanishes and in its place are three shredded papers which suddenly turned into dust in almost an instant it landed on the ground.

Hyuna pops a pill in her mouth. This is one of the pills she has been carrying just in case she got wounded.

Since she did not have that many physical wounds and still feel pain in her body, she knew that the wound is internal.

While recovering she watches as the beast fell to the ground and quickly controlled the spinning blade to attack.

Roar!!!

The fire wolf king raised its paw trying to parry the spinning blade.

But who would have known that the blade is actually covered with wind and fire elements which easily tore through its tough skin?

With this strike alone, the right front leg of the fire wolf king was cut off cleanly.

Blood could be seen splattered all over the place as the hold of the beast filled the entire cave.

"How dare you!" shouted the man in the shadows as he too felt the pang of pain.

He truly could not fathom what is happening as he is actually being defeated by a mere mortal that uses tricks to control the elements.

If he is not in his weakest form, he knew that he could fight against this fellow. But now, he is already thinking that he might have looked down on the Urokai Sect too much.

How could he exact his revenge on the sect if he could not even beat this petite mortal guy?

But before he could think of something else, he felt a dangerous premonition in his heart.

Without hesitation, he disconnected his mind from the fire wolf king and quickly connected it to the other fire wolf.

"I will deal with you first…" He muttered.

After disconnecting he is actually watching the fire wolf king. And true to his conjecture, the fire wolf king might not be as good at countering the enemy, but it actually has a strong defensive prowess.

It was actually able to resist that spinning blade with its flames.

Confident that the fire wolf king could handle that fellow, he has decided to kill the other cultivator first and then take down that loathsome fellow using the other fire wolf.

He would do a pincer attack and kill that mortal bastard with two fire wolves.

Il Kwan and the fire wolf have already exchanged a few blows and he knew that he could take down that thing soon.

But the roar of the fire wolf king made him feel that his little brother is actually winning a battle against that thing.

Il Kwan now is sure that his little brother is hiding his true strength.

Not only is he good in martial arts, but he is also a powerful cultivator himself.

He truly felt a hint of excitement in his heart in this affirmation.

He could not wait to go back to the sect and show this to his parents.

But for now, he has to focus his mind on this battle as he could not neglect the strength of his opponent.
