Chapter 36

Book I Chapter 36

Giant Cabra is a rare poisonous snake species that originate from the territory of the Merka Empire. Due to the constant hunting and expansion of the empire, these savage beasts were chased out of their habitat and could only go to other places and claim other territories as their new habitat.

And because of this many fierce and savage beasts are chased out of their original habitat and so the cycle goes on and on.

But such incidents are not caused by people alone, there are also those sentient beasts that would expand their territory and chase out the others.

The movement of territories in the three empires of Saldonis, Merkas, and Aetowa has a huge effect on the ecosystem of all the living beings on the continent.

At this moment, the Giant Cabra is one of the savage beast species that migrated to this place from the southern empire.

Giant Cabra would grow up to 30 to 40 meters long and could devour large beasts in the forest. But this venomous snake is not a voracious eater. They would usually consume food once every week, or in time when it would begin to molt, twice a week.

But the thing that this venomous hated the most is those that intrude on its territory. Once it founds the intruder, it would immediately hunt and attack.

However, a Giant Cabra is still an animal after all, so it would not hunt those that leave its territory. Plus, it would not go near any human settlement, especially sects and villages.

But it seems that the Giant Cabra that is lurking in the forest right now is different.

Hyuna has been analyzing this fact after she recalled what she has read in the books.

After she explained this to Il Kwan, he frowned and has been in deep thought.

"So you mean… This thing… might be controlled?" Il Kwan asked in a low voice.

Hyuna nodded as this is the only explanation for the action of the Giant Cabra the two are seeing right now.

The Outer Sect members have already spread out and a few of them are on the ground groaning in pain after suffering from the poison of the Giant Cabra.

From the looks of it, the creature is actually not eating any of the cultivators around it.

"It seems that the creature wanted to gather them…" she muttered in a low voice.

Suddenly, the Meridian Refining stage cultivator named Gwan Jaeho lunges an attack while covering his blade with his strong Qi. Behind him, two more swords from a few wounded cultivators floated and attack the beast.

Clang! Clang!

The Giant Cabra actually fought him using its tail, it's like it is using its tail as a sword.

The strength of the snake is more than he could handle which threw him a few meters and the floating swords were swatted like flies.

"Damn it…" he cursed out loud as he gritted his teeth in annoyance.

His weapon is a scimitar and the blade already has been chipped due to the collision with the snake's tail.

"This is not good!" he muttered as he suddenly charges his weapons with his Qi.

As he increase the energy input to the blades, they began to glow.

"Now… eat this! Triple Dragon technique!" he shouted as he suddenly charges at the beast.

Il Kwan who saw his attack knew that something is wrong.

"Not good, he is going to escape and leave the rest in here!" he angrily said as he suddenly jumps out from the bushes.

Without hesitation, he suddenly threw an artifact that looks like a series of blades with a string behind it.

The blades suddenly spread out like a web and began wrapping themselves around the snake. The blades on the other hand began to anchor themselves on the trees nearby.

The attack that Il Kwan did was faster than the charge of Gwan Jaeho which needed more energy, so his attack was the first to hit the beast.

Gwan Jaeho showed a surprised expression but then a glitter of determination came to his sight after seeing the immobilized creature.

Without hesitation, he pulled everything he has and targeted the exposed neck of the beast.

But before he could hit the beast, a figure suddenly appear in front of him and blocks his strongest attack.

Clang!

However, the other flying blades have lodged themselves in the Giant Cabra's neck.

One of the swords even penetrated the thick scales of the Cabra and hit the tree behind it.

A fountain of red warm blood spews out of the Cabra's neck, but its vitality is still strong.

The other sword was lodged at the side of its long body and had not penetrated its skin fully.

This enraged the beast thoroughly as it began to move its huge body trying to break free from the shackle that bound it.

"Who are you!" shouted Gwan Jaeho as he glared at the man in front of him.

He could tell that the man is strong, but the clash between them made him realize that, although this person has tyrannical strength, his current condition is in a weakened state.

He still has a chance to defeat him.

Il Kwan moved to the side of Gwan Jaeho.

"Senior… I'll take care of the snake and you and the others take this guy down…" he said confidently.

With the blood gushing out of the snake's neck, Il Kwan could determine that he has a chance to defeat that thing.

With a nod of his head, Gwan Jaeho agreed.

Meanwhile, behind the bushes, Hyuna hides her presence and just waited for her opportunity.

It is not time to be a hero, she is just a mere mortal compared to these strong people.

Il Kwan kicks the ground and behind him followed Gwan Jaeho and the others that can still move.

Flying blades could be seen soaring in the air as they clash against the mysterious person and the trapped snake.

Swoosh!!!

The snake's tail suddenly got freed and tackled Il Kwan's attack.

It was able to parry the flying blades and even block Il Kwan's sword.

The exchange goes back and forth, but no one can take advantage.

Clang!!!

Suddenly, the scimitar of Gwan Jaeho broke apart after a clash with the mysterious guy. He was then kicked on his chest and tumbled toward the bushes.

The rest did not stand against the mysterious guy and was defeated.

Il Kwan saw this and gritted his teeth. He suddenly takes out a scroll and suddenly imbued it on his sword.

Then his figure flashes like a meteor and slices at the snake's stomach.

It tried to parry the incoming attack, but its tail was suddenly stopped in midair.

Ching! Ching! Crack! Crack!

The thick scales of the snake were chipped one by one as the figure of Il Kwan acted like a drill boring through the body of the snake.

Puchi!

Finally, he was able to penetrate the body and his glowing sword wounded it deeply.

Hiss!!!

The snake hisses painfully as it suddenly struggled desperately.

Twang!

The restrain was suddenly removed as the mysterious person cut off one of the wires holding it.

With the removal of the single wire, the rest followed and the snake was freed.

"You've got skills…" an eerie voice echoed in the air.

But before Il Kwan could react, he was suddenly hit by a powerful force from the side.

It was already too late to dodge, so he could only use his arms to block it.

Pwaaa!!!

All of his air almost escaped his lungs as he was hit by that strong force.

Like a rag doll, he tumbled in the air and was about to hit a tree when a figure suddenly catches him.

Then before the mysterious man could see what happened, the figure of Il Kwan was carried away through the forest.

"Damn… chase after them!" he shouted.

But suddenly the Cabra brandishes its tail at the mysterious guy which he quickly dodges by jumping into a tree.

"Hmm… It has gone berserk…" he muttered as he shook his head and distanced away from the snake.

It then followed behind Il Kwan's figure through the thick forest.

The man shook his head and began gathering the rest of the disciples who are helplessly lying on the ground.

"Hehe… You guys would be my sustenance… It would not take long now… and I will be able to fully recover my strength…" he muttered with an evil grin on his face.

As he walked to the bushes, he was suddenly dumbstruck as he noticed that one of the disciples is missing.

He could remember clearly that the strongest of them was thrown in the bushes. He knew that the fellow was wounded severely, so how could that guy still run away?

"This is not good for my plan…" he grumbled as he clenches his fist.

"I have planned this for a long time and have even learned how to control strong beasts just for the day of my revenge. But who would have known that this one slip-up might destroy my plan?" he grumbled.

Hesitation could be seen in his eyes as he looks at the disciples on the ground and then shifted his eyes in the direction of the snake.

"Should… should I abandon this plan?" he muttered.

But then he shook his head and decided to chase after the snake.

He has to tie up some loose ends before those damn old men from the sect could discover what is really happening.

He touches the leaves and a slight smirk appears on his mouth.

"You will not be able to run far…" he said as he ignored the direction of where Gwan Jaeho was headed but instead chases after the snake that is after Il Kwan and Hyuna.
