Chapter 5: Seen a Ghost?

The shop owner had previously looked down on Chen Feng, but after seeing Black Tiger, his entire demeanor changed instantly. Not only did he not charge a single penny, but he also personally packed up all the medicinal herbs that Chen Feng had selected and even stuffed a few extra ginseng roots into the bag.

"Mr. Chen, I was wrong today, these herbs are my way of apologizing... You're welcome to visit anytime in the future!" The shop owner said with utmost respect.

"Mm." Chen Feng nodded, took the herbs, and looked at Black Tiger with a hint of confusion. He thought to himself that after being beaten up by him last night, not only did this guy not seek revenge, but he had also made a timely appearance to help him out. Still, Chen Feng politely said, "Thank you, Lord Hu."

"Hahaha, Mr. Chen is too kind!" Black Tiger laughed heartily and then immediately pulled out his business card, "Mr. Chen, this is my card. If you need help in the future, whether it's buying herbs or anything else, you can contact me. If it's within my capabilities, I can sort it out for you."

"Hahahaha." Wang Shikai laughed, his hand roving improperly over Wu Meng's body. Wu Meng did not resist; instead, she responded more proactively.

Once Wang Shikai was pleased, he laughed and said, "The money is in my card, I can give it to you anytime you want, but there's no need. You know, you've already divorced that loser Chen Feng. In a few days, let's head to the Civil Affairs Bureau and get our marriage license. Then, won't my money become your money?"

"Kai-ge, are you serious? Don't trick me," Wu Meng said, her face full of anticipation.

As the two walked and flirted, passing by the bench, Wu Meng suddenly spotted Chen Ning sitting there and shuddered, thinking she had seen a ghost!

Chen Ning looked at the pale-faced Wu Meng, not knowing about the divorce between Chen Feng and Wu Meng. Out of politeness, she still called out, "Sister-in-law."

"You, you're not a ghost? What are you doing here?" Wu Meng recovered and asked in astonishment, "Didn't they remove your kidneys? How can you still be alive?"

Chen Ning blinked and explained, "I didn't have the surgery. Right before it was about to start, my brother went to the hospital and took me away."

"What!"

Hearing this, Wang Shikai and Wu Meng's faces drastically changed in an instant.

"Damn it!" Wang Shikai cursed, then rushed towards Chen Ning and grabbed her hands before turning to Wu Meng, "What are you standing there for? Help me take this girl to the hospital, now! Lord Hu already gave me the million! If something goes wrong, we are both responsible!"

"Right! Right!" Wu Meng immediately nodded, then rushed over to help drag Chen Ning, "Don't move! Hurry back to the hospital, get on the operating table, and transplant your kidney to Miss Jiang from the Imperial Capital! Why did you run off? Do you want us to die?"

And so, Wang Shikai and Wu Meng, one grabbing Chen Ning's hands and the other her hair, forcibly dragged her along the ground toward the direction of the hospital.

"You're courting death!"

Chen Feng, who was just returning with some herbs, saw this scene and immediately felt a surge of rage as he charged over like lightning.

Upon seeing Chen Feng, Wu Meng cursed loudly, "Chen Feng! You useless wretch! You dare–"

Before she could finish,

Chen Feng's hand flew up and struck Wu Meng's face, sending her flying several meters away, coughing up blood.

"You dare hit a woman, motherf*cker!" Wang Shikai exploded in anger. Since the Wang Family had made the Chen Family's home and lives miserable for the past ten years, Wang Shikai had always humiliated Chen Feng whenever he saw him on the street. Knowing he was no match, Chen Feng always swallowed his pride and endured.

But now, seeing Chen Feng standing up to him as if he was a changed man, Wang Shikai felt a wave of annoyance in his heart.

He vigorously ripped off his tie, then clenched his fists, assuming a professional fighting stance.

"Get lost!"

However, Chen Feng only needed a slap to knock Wang Shikai to the ground, his front teeth flying out on the spot.
