First Day Back

Peter walked nonchalantly, behind students of Apex Academy. It was again his first day of school, back to living a normal life.

He still needed to go to school for resources and important information. Dropping out wasn't ideal and he definitely needed his Magician License if he wanted to do anything in the future.

Peter was exceptionally in a good mood as he had also received his Hunter's License. He was officially an <E Rank> Hunter under the name of 'Daemon Spades'.

'Let's go turn this academy upside down.' Noah smiled. Peter nodded in response, feeling his brother's excitement.

Peter's appearance had drastically changed in the past year. He was now 5ft 4 and he looked much more toned and lean. His wavy dark hair fell just down his eyes and parted in the middle. His white bandage still covered his eyes as he was still blind. That still hadn't changed, although his senses were sharper and he could sense things much better.

"Woah! Who is that coming out of that Black car?"

"Why do they have that many cars escorting them?"

"Did some famous person transfer to our school?"

Peter didn't need to see to find out why the commotion was building up around the entrance of the Academy.

It was her.

She had arrived.

"No way! Uriel Holmes! The daughter of the President of America."

Several security personnel stepped out of their matching black vehicles before pushing the students aside.

Uriel stepped out of the car with her head held high. She looked at the different girls and boys with disgust before her eyes caught Peter's face.

Peter sensed her gaze and immediately flipped on his hood. He had been wearing a gray hoodie under his black blazer since it was a bit chilly. He mixed into the large crowd escaping her gaze.

Uriel cursed under her breath, putting on her dark sunglasses.

Her security Guards paved a way for her as she walked onwards, ignoring the different girls trying to talk to her.

'Hoho. So we're in the same class.' Uriel couldn't help but smile as her eyes locked onto Peter Magtris.

'You can ride but you can't hide. Hehe.' She smiled.

'F*ck! Why is she here? That annoying girl.' Peter cursed under his breath.

'HAHAHAHAHA! This is too funny. Bahahaha! Brother. What are the odds?' Noah couldn't help but laugh and mock his brother. Both Magtris brothers didn't know why the daughter of the President was so persistent in tailing them. Only time would tell.

The class that Peter was in seemed to be filled with mostly transfer students and other powerful people he didn't know. There were a total of 60 students in Class 1. Since it consisted of the elites in the whole year, Class 1 was the most competitive and hardest to get into.

Their homeroom teacher - Mr Hale - was a retired military officer at the age of 65, although he looked to be in his 40's.

"...Okay now everyone to the Combat Hall. I shall be testing all your combat prowess." he announced with a smile, eyeing the blind boy at the back, before leaving the hall.

The students began talking, heading for the combat hall. It was good for Peter as Uriel was stopped by a couple girls, who began talking with her. Surprisingly, she didn't get rid of them and talked with them.

'So she's not a complete weirdo.' Peter sighed, walking down the steps and exiting the hall.

Peter was the last to enter the large combat hall. It was extremely spacious and had a 30 metre by 30 metre square shaped combat arena in the center. A dome shaped glass roof spanned the whole ceiling, letting natural light into the combat hall. A series of benches were also placed on the outskirts with water drinking stations .

"Okay gather round students. I know this is the first day at this academy for some of you so it's important you know that we put a strong exaggeration on the strength of our pupils. This is Class 1, consisting of the strongest students in the second year.

"I don't want to see any of you slack. Any weaklings will be thrown out of this class immediately. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir!"

"Good. Now I will be testing all of your individual skills, ahahahah. Come at me! Young bloods." The old man smiled, looking at the 2nd year students, Peter in particular. He could sense an unnerving pressure emitting from Peter, that no other student in the hall had.

"We'll be going in order of when you arrived in the hall. So you get on stage!" He ordered , pointing at a boy and walking towards the large platform to fight.

The first student was an asian transfer student from Japan. Currently ranked 20th in the class. As he stepped onto the platform, the rest of the students gathered round the platform. Only Peter didn't bother as he wouldn't be able to see the fight anyways. He decided to sit at a bench and observe the fight using his senses.

Uriel glanced towards Peter before entertaining her new friends again.

"I, Yusuke Nakamura shall fight with my full power. It is an honor Mr Hale." The asian boy bowed, before drawing his katana. He had simple black hair at a long length and a regular stature.

Water mana began circling around his feet as he got into a fighting stance. The water circled around his body till his sword was engulfed in a blue aura.

The fight commenced when Mr Hale gave the instruction. Yusuke was quick as he used a movement technique to snake around and meet the instructor head on.

Mr Hale blocked the blade attack with his bare forearm nonchalantly, pushing the boy back.

'Mmh. Good speed and strength. If I were a regular student at their age, this arm would have been gone for sure.'

The fight carried on in a stalemate, as Yusuke struggled to even inflict a single heavy blow to the instructor. His technique was indeed flawless and he even used powerful spells that Mr Hale had to block using both his forearms, but to no avail, it looked like the instructor wasn't even trying.

"Good Job. Grade <B>." The instructor announced, "Next student!"

The students clapped, as Yusuke got off the platform.

The instructor looked towards Peter with his curiosity piqued, 'Is that blind kid meditating? Interesting.'

He cracked his knuckles as the next student jumped on.
