Thirty eight

Fa'idah ( tribe: Hausa, Meaning : Benefit or Advantage) was still in school, spending her Christmas with her boyfriend. Fa'idah is the type of girl that doesn't care for her family, and that's because she thinks they don't care for her.

When Fa'idah was twelve years, she would have been engaged to a twenty three years old man, if she hadn't ran away. Her parents forced her, and also get her many suitors, and that's why she leaves the house alot, and have the feeling that her parents just want to get rid of her.

Fa'idah just wants to finish her studies, before getting married, but her mother will be like ' you're a girl, your job is to take care of the family. I got married when I was also twelve, and so did your older sister Atikah ( tribe: Hausa, meaning : pure or clear). But was she angry? '. This is what her mother would always tell her, when ever she said she would like to finish her studies.

The truth about Atikah's case is that she really liked the person she had gotten married to. The boy was just twenty years old. And in Fa'idah's family, you must marry an Hausa boy or girl. Then Fa'idah's older brothers are already married to other young Hausa girls.

So now Fa'idah is no longer staying with her family but her friends, she just want to be independent. In the whole blood line of Fa'idah's family, no girl has ever stayed unmarried in the age of fourteen, and the good thing about being a boy in that family, is that you get to finish your studies, and marry at the age of twenty something. Back to Fa'idah and her boyfriend....

" Fa'idah, you should go to your family " Kohwo ( full name : Oghenekohwo, meaning : God provides, tribe: urohbo) said as he caressed her cheek.

" are you driving me? " Fa'idah asked as she stood up from his leg, where she was laying on.

" no, I'm not. I'm just saying that it's been long so very you saw your parents, and I know you're missing them alot" Kohwo said as he sat up.

" I miss them, but if I go there they will force me to get married. I don't want to get married now" she replied with a sad voice.

" you've been away for five years... "

" and I can stay more" she rushed.

" okay, I won't ask again " Kohwo replied. Just then, Fa'idah got a text saying...

" Provider is pregnant " Fa'idah yelled surprised.

" ehh? " Kohwo also became surprised.

Amanda's house

" Jesus " Amanda yelled shocked as she stared at her phone. Kelvin ran to her...

" wetin happen? " she asked.

" one girl for school, her name na Provider, she get belle ( a girl at school, her name is Provider, she's pregnant) " she replied.

" what level? " he asked not surprised.

" 100 " she replied. Kelvin said nothing.

" aren't you surprise?, well you're in your year four, so maybe you've seen it too" Amanda smiled.

" not even that, girls that are just fifteen years are getting pregnant, and you're surprise for someone who's already in the university " he explained.

" no this one, you should be both shocked and surprise. I have coco to tell you guys about this girl, let me call Samuel and Anthony, then we will go to my room" she said then left.

The four of them, entered Amanda's room. Anthony and Kelvin sat on the bed, while Samuel and Amanda sat on the couch.

" this girl preach alot about the gospel. She's the holy holy type, and that's why she don't have much friends " Amanda said.

" so the girl is a goat in the disguise as a sheep? " Anthony thought.

" yeah. And now who will listen to the advice, when the advicer don't do according to her advice? " Amanda said then giggled " you see what I did there? " she asked then giggled again.

" eyaaa the girl na disgrace " Kelvin turned his head left and right.

" the father will be either person from the school, outside the school, or at home" Amanda thought.

" if not those places, then where? outside Nigeria? " Kelvin said then they all laughed.

" the girl shakara done end " Samuel said and they all laughed.

" Amanda I dey hungry, go cook na ( Amanda I'm hungry, please go and cook) " Kelvin said.

" when are we going to Tivo? " Amanda asked.

" maybe 3:00 or pass three" Samuel replied.

" Kelvin's wait, when we've gone to Tivo and chicken republic, you will eat, because I'm not in the mood to cook " Amanda said rudely.

" no vex " Kelvin said, then they laughed again.

Praises house

" nawa ooo Provider has disgrace all the preachers wey I know oo " Praise yelled holding her head.

" wetin happen? " Ebi asked.

" na one yeye girl for school, she dey preach give everybody, but last last na she get belle ( there's this stupid girl girl in school, she preaches for everyone, but at the end, she's the one that got pregnant) " Praise explained.

The word shakara ,is like something girls do to show they are perfect. And they show mostly to boys, so they can rush them. But when you are pregnant, no boys can meet you, and that is when your shakara ends. I don't even know how I want to explain it to you guys, so manage the way I've explained it. thank you
