TRUE BEGINNINGS

Inside a house enclosed in faint darkness. A dark shape produced by a little body seated by the corner thought of the test his father would put him through. A woman of average height with slim, flat-bellied, heavy-breasted, and rounded hips figures entered the darkness. She carried a briefcase and stood beside him thereby causing shadows on the wall.

Sensing her presence he asked, "what do you want?" not hearing her response, he looks at her with a stoic expression on his face. His rounded head and a small beaky nose showed no sign of fear. "it's time" she replied chuckling. Seeing his face, she uses both her hand to cover her mouth. In a blink of an eye, she became serious. Seeing this his face changed.

He became nervous as he remembered his father's words 'the test comes anytime'. He became scared, he thought of the fact that he may not be prepared. Beside the woman was a drawer on top of the drawer stood a lamp. She turned on the lamp and opened the briefcase. Inside the briefcase was a game of chess. He sighed in defeat. He knew he has never beaten a woman in a game of chess before. He has been practicing for the longest time hoping to one day challenge her. But the moment was now.

​" What's wrong?" she asked. Without responding he used the White pawn to move forward.

"wh..what if I'm not ready?" the boy stutters, she uses the black pawn to move forward following his movements. He brought the knight out and it is protected by the pawn in the middle. Then she used the bishop to take out the pawn. Without thinking he uses the knight to take out the bishop. After a few takes out, three white pieces containing the queen, rook and a pawn remained for the boy and black pawn and the king remsined for the woman. Seeing defeat she resigned and shook his hands. At that moment the little boy felt so proud and assured.

" You are ready" she takes out a white pendant in the shape of a cross which signifies what they stood for from the back of her pocket.

" I need you to go to timeline x and take it". She closes the briefcase and prepared to leave. As she walked out of the door she turned to tell him "take what truly belongs to us because we are the executioners".
