Heating Things Up - Part 2

heating things up - part 2

Arriving in the cafeteria corridor, the goblins continued banging on the door, trying to get in. Seeing that nothing had changed while he was away, Alex began to put his plan into action.

He started pouring the highly flammable mixture on the floor at the corner where the goblins' corridor met his own. He made sure to spread it generously, so the fire would engulf a large area.

Once that was done, he went to the other side of the corridor, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and placed it a few meters away from the liquid. With everything set, he took one final look before putting his plan into action.

"I hope roasted goblin smells good," Alex said with a silly grin on his face. After taking a last breath, he walked towards the goblins.

Reaching the middle of the corridor and realizing they hadn't noticed his presence, he grabbed a bow and an arrow and positioned them. He had never used a bow before, so his stance was a bit awkward as he tried to fit the arrow in the right place.

After some time struggling, he finally succeeded. He straightened the arrow and aimed it at the goblins, then began pulling the string. When he had pulled it as far as he could, he released the string.

"Shhhh" The arrow flew through the air towards the goblin at the back of the group, but before it could hit the goblin, it ended up falling to the ground.

"PENNG!"

Hearing this noise, the goblins stopped banging on the door and looked towards the back of the corridor, spotting Alex, who had a embarrassed expression on his face.

"GRRRHRHRRHRHR"

Seeing the goblins growling at him, Alex began to walk backward, trying to make them advance towards him.

"Hey, you stupid goblins, why don't you come here and try to kill me?" Along with this shout, he also grabbed a handful of daggers from his pocket and threw them with all his strength towards the goblins.

"Shhhhhs"

Unlike the arrow, the dagger traveled at a speed of 150 km with surprising accuracy, reaching the goblin that had dodged the arrow in the blink of an eye and lodging itself in his right eye.

"SMACK"

The sound of the dagger lodging in the goblin's eye was sickening, but Alex didn't pay attention to it as he retreated to the corner of the corridor. The other goblins started chasing after him with all they had.

Reaching the corner, Alex stopped until the goblins reached the middle of the corridor. Then he turned around and walked towards where he had left the fire extinguisher. Arriving at the edge of the flammable liquid, Alex waited while holding a box of matches.

"Oh, give me that fire 🎶" Alex began to hum when he heard the footsteps of the goblins approaching. He began lighting the match, and when he saw that they had finally entered the area covered in fuel, he threw the match.

"Burn, burn, burn 🎶" Flames engulfed the corridor as Alex hummed. The flames rose so quickly that the goblins couldn't react. Before they realized what was happening, the flames swallowed them.

"AAAGRRRRDDD- AHHHHHHGDDDD"

Screams came from the flames. The goblins writhed, trying to extinguish the endless fire. Their bodies lit up like candles, and their melting faces truly resembled wax. The scene looked like it was taken from hell itself.

And the cause of this scene sat in front of the fire, holding a fire extinguisher, as if waiting for food to be ready in the kitchen.

"Roasted goblin doesn't really smell that bad," Alex said, feeling the scent of barbecue in the air. After watching this scene for 2 minutes, Alex checked the system to make sure they were all dead.

Seeing the notification of 15 dead goblins, Alex stood up with the fire extinguisher and started putting out the fire. After 3 minutes, all that remained in the corridor were the charred bodies of the goblins and their weapons.

Seeing so many daggers on the ground and thinking about how he easily killed a goblin by throwing a dagger at him, Alex began collecting them and strapping them to his waist. After collecting all of them, he went back to where he had been sitting before and stopped to check his system.

"Status."

Seeing so many points, he decided to increase his speed to 2. However, when he tried to increase it further, he noticed something strange. Instead of spending 1 point to increase his speed by 0.1, after reaching 2, he had to spend 2 points for a 0.1 increase.

Seeing this situation, Alex had to change his point allocation plans.

With 13 points remaining and his strength and resistance falling behind, Alex decided to focus on these two for now. He allocated 8 points to resistance and 5 points to strength, using up all his points and keeping his statistics balanced.

Alex began to feel the sensation of being massaged again, but this time it was more intense. He felt as if he had infinite energy. In that moment, Alex thought he could easily run a marathon without even breaking a sweat. But after 5 seconds, the feeling faded away.

"Now that I've used up my points, it's time to check the cafeteria," Alex thought as he walked towards the cafeteria.
