First Map!(2)

Dragging his entire body around, Clay couldn't help but lament at his unquenched thirst, he wasn't like those people who were given OP systems and were level 50+, those beings couldn't be considered human anymore, they had the power to flatten entire cities in seconds, they didn't feel hunger and thirst as often as an average person like Clay. Those beings were also the catalyst for the First system War. Though the war had already come to pass, the power those beings displayed was enough to be embedded clearly in the minds of anyone who witnessed it, stories are still being told about them to kids who refused to sleep at their bedtime.

..

.

Time passed and Clay finished walking around, burning into his memory every landmark or important place that resides in his village area.

Seeing his home in the distance his downcasted face suddenly brightened up, as if all his exhaustion disappeared magically.

Clay hastened his steps trying to reach his home faster in order to satisfy his thirst and perhaps eat a hearty meal.

Clay opened the door to his home and immediately smelled a pleasant and mouth-watering aroma in the air. Hoping it is what he thinks it is he rushes to the kitchen.

Clay's mother appeared in his sight as she seemed to be cooking something.

"Welcome back, since today was such an important day for you, I thought that cooking your favorite food would match the occasion really well" Mrs. Mapa welcomed her son.

"It's going to be ready in about 5 minutes so please set up the table will you?" Mrs. Mapa asked as Clay nodded while getting a cup of water from a large container containing approximately 3 gallons of water. Clay gulped down the cup of water immediately refilling it right after, then proceeded to gulp it down in one go.

With a satisfied sigh, Clay then went to the living room to prepare the table for the dishes soon to be placed on it. Clay saw that the items needed for making a map were still there on top of the table. He picked them up and went to his room to place them on his bed. Going back to the kitchen Clay picked up plates and brought them to the living room table.

Right after he finished setting up the table the food arrived. It was a thick soup containing both vegetables and meat, it is called pottage, a favorite dish of many in his village.

Mrs. Mapa called her daughter to come and eat at the table, to which the person responded with an affirmative hum. Belle sat at the table, and the family gave thanks as they ate their lunch.

After eating his fill, Clay cleaned his plate and walked to his room in excited steps.

After shutting the door to his room, Clay went up to his bed and began thinking about what to do with the map materials.

'Do I just draw the map? Or is there a process' Clay was stuck on what to do. If he had to draw it by hand then he wondered if he was ever gonna complete it, art has never been his strong suit. Luckily a system notification rang in his ears

*Ding!*

<Host can think about creating the map with the materials required and the system will generate a map according to what the host is thinking, the host needs to have sufficient knowledge of the content the host wants to put on the map in order for the generation to be successful, materials used in this process will either be destroyed or partially used>

'Well that's good to know' Clay mused as he read. Clay looked at the items on the bed.

'Then without further ado, generate map!' Clay tried his hardest to remember all the landmarks and places he passed by earlier while thinking about creating a map.

*Ding!*

<Detected map creation prompt>

<Checking materials...>

<Success>

<Combining materials...>

<Success>

<Creating map...>

<Success>

A bright light appeared where the items for the creation of the map were.

Moments later the bright light dissipated, revealing a detailed map of Cantor's Retreat. The quill and jar of ink were also still there, albeit, they looked a little used, with the ink being slightly depleted and the quill's tip bent and its feathers messy.

*Ding!*

<Completed achievement |First Tier 1 Map|>

<Detected completion of quest |Beginnings(2)|!>

<Claim reward now?>

[Yes/No]

Clay glanced at the notifications before ignoring them, placing his attention on the map that was before him. He reached out to the map and held it.

*Ding!*

<View map information?>

[Yes/No]

Clay clicked on Yes.

|Unnamed Map (Tier 1)|

\A tier 1 map created by Clay Mapa, an amateur mapper, this map can show a first-person view of areas in Cantor's Retreat shown in the map./

Clay froze at the description.

'If it does what I think it does, then, wouldn't that be too amazing?' Clay immediately wanted to try it out but held himself back in the end.

'I still need to claim my rewards' Clay couldn't stop smiling as he thought of using the map.

'Open beginnings 2 quest'

*Ding!*

|Quest name: Beginnings(2)|

\Make a map/

Clay clicked on Yes.

*Ding!*

<Are you sure?>

[Yes/No]

This time Clay was prepared, he didn't take that much time compared to before.

Clay clicked on Yes again.

<Received 10 EXP and 1 unallocated stat point>

Clay was delighted at seeing that he can choose where to place his stat point, he thought that it would always be randomly distributed.

'I guess I'll save it since using it now won't make that much of a difference'

'Open |First Tier 1 Map| achievement'

*Ding!*

|First Tier 1 Map(Completed)|

|Create your first tier 1 map|

|Rewards: 5 SC, 10 EXP|

<Claim reward?>

[Yes/No]

Clay tapped on Yes while he was mentally prepared to have his commitment questioned.

<Received 5 SC and 10 EXP>

'Great! Time to check my stats, then, check my map, open stats!'

*Ding!*

Clay saw the addition of the unallocated stat point text and seemed proud that he was making good progress.

Clay then turned his attention to the map in his hand.

'Here goes nothing, use map!' Clay mentally screamed thinking it would work better that way.

Moments of silence passed in his room nothing seemingly happening.

'System how do I use the map' Clay scratched his head in embarrassment.

*Ding!*

<Host needs to think of where to look in the map in order to use it>

'Oh, that makes sense' Clay made up his made of what to think about.

'Activate map!' this time Clay said with confidence.
