Are you telling us that all of these are mechanical creations? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I might have have gone a little ham on this side project (-.-)' between the chapters being by far the shortest of anything I've translated so far, getting some really good results with my newer translation prompt, and getting caught up in wanting to read the story that felt like a great change of pace I ended up taking it pretty far. There are still some things that didn't translate properly -so far its been Final Fantasy stuff in the later portion of the translated chapters but I felt it was a really smooth read that was still fairly accurate to the raw text. I still haven't had much luck at getting the westernized names assigned to characters to remain consistent from chapter to chapter so unfortunately it still isn't where I want my translations to be but I am getting closer and closer. Please enjoy.

Chapter 14: Were These Zombies Robbed of Their Mothers?

In the dim light before dawn.

Not far from Corpse Town, Cai Shengkun and the others finally completed their brief rest at a small campsite.

After a level 30 priest in the group used Purification Light, the fatigue on everyone vanished.

After a short journey, they finally encountered the first monster from Corpse Town.

"Be careful, this one is a Corpse Toxin Mutant. You should've learned about it in your Monster Information class at school," warned team leader Liu Lei, a level 39 professional who had a small reputation in Cloud City.

With their team's strength, they would not fear Corpse Town on a normal day.

But now, their main task was to babysit the others as they leveled up.

Liu Lei and the group hid behind a bush, speaking seriously.

"Corpse Toxin Mutants are the lowest-level monsters in Corpse Town, but don't underestimate them. Many rookie professionals have become rotten meat in their mouths."

Cai Shengkun and the others listened carefully.

Even Leng Bingyue, an A-rank professional like Zheng Mu, looked serious at the moment.

"Corpse Toxin Mutants are level 15 to 19, and with our assistance, they are the most suitable monsters for you to practice on."

"They're fast, have high defense, and are immune to pain. They also carry corpse toxin, making them difficult to deal with."

"In a moment, follow the teamwork tactics I've taught you, cooperate with each other, and fight steadily..."

After confirming that everyone understood, they finally emerged from the bushes.

The next moment, the Corpse Toxin Mutant, sensing the scent of living humans, turned its head abruptly.

"Roar!!!"

Its grotesque face had clearly visible blue-purple veins, and one of its eyes hung from its face.

When it roared, even from a distance of more than ten meters, everyone seemed to have already smelled the strong stench.

"Quick! Restrict its movement!" Liu Lei shouted.

The next moment, Leng Bingyue in the team took the first shot.

[Whirlwind Strike]!

Before the Corpse Toxin Mutant could charge, a sudden cold wind rose under its feet, accompanied by swirling snowflakes.

In the blink of an eye, the mutant's body was encased in a layer of ice crystals.

Behind him, Cai Shengkun didn't dare to be careless.

Consuming a large amount of MP, he unleashed several skills in succession, repeatedly pulling the trigger of his green, excellent-grade rifle.

[Weak Point Intuition]

[Accurate Lock]

[Burdened Shot]

A confident combo attack was unleashed, and five bullets instantly hit the mutant's head.

However, the next moment, the smile on Cai Shengkun's face froze.

"Damn?! It's not dead?!"

Liu Lei gave him a displeased glare.

"You don't even consider your own level. A level 3 or 4 nobody like you, wanting to one-shot a level 16 Corpse Toxin Mutant?"

Ignoring the foolish Cai Shengkun, Liu Lei loudly commanded the other rookie professionals to step forward and perform their roles.

At the same time, he signaled his teammates to ensure their safety.

Thus, with the combined efforts of seven or eight people and the protection of more than ten high-level professionals, they finally managed to defeat the Corpse Toxin Mutant.

"Hahaha, I leveled up! Damn, these high-level monsters really give a lot of experience!" Cai Shengkun exclaimed, looking at his experience bar that had instantly increased by half, causing his fatigue to vanish in an instant.

In the team, the other new professional players also gained significant rewards. Leng Bingyue's strength increased by a few notches.

However, she didn't act as smug as Cai Shengkun and calmly said, "With our level, killing monsters ten levels higher is already quite remarkable, even if the captain and the others take a portion of the reward. The remaining amount is still significant for us..."

"It's a pity about your good friend, though. Who knows where he is right now, wiping his tears?" she added.

Cai Shengkun immediately fell silent, unable to stop worrying about Zheng Mu.

With Zheng Mu's strength and his subpar profession as a mechanic, leveling up on his own, even in the lowest level monster zones, would be extremely difficult. They couldn't compare to having a powerful player like their captain to help them level up.

However, every newcomer who wanted to enter Sacred Clarity University had to go through a leveling phase. Who didn't enjoy the treatment of being guided by powerful players like their captain?

As quickly as possible, they adapted to higher-level combat and became familiar with the skills and battle methods of their profession.

Cai Shengkun furrowed his brows, but Captain Liu Lei wasn't bothered by this. In his opinion, Zheng Mu must have given up already.

While there were other players on Blue Star who were chosen as mechanics, without exception, they all ended up in decline. Unable to bear the disparity, some even chose to end their lives.

"Alright, we can be your guides today and help you level up because of your innate talent. This is your fortune, but you must also remember," Liu Lei advised.

"The help Yuntong City can give you is probably limited to this. What the future holds is up to your own efforts!"

"On this path, you will see more and more people being eliminated."

"Keep working hard to level up..."

As Liu Lei shared his life lessons with these newcomers from the perspective of a senior, a sudden development interrupted them.

A bowman from their team quickly approached with a serious expression on his face. "Captain, come take a look! Something's happened!"

Frowning, Liu Lei followed the bowman to a small hillside.

The next moment, even the usually calm Liu Lei couldn't help but curse. "What the hell?!"

Cai Shengkun and the others, who had followed them, also looked out curiously.

And then, one of them asked, "Captain, have these zombies been robbed of their mothers?"
