224 Not Under Her Control

There was an important issue that needed to be addressed at the moment.

"So, when are you gonna stop straddling me?" Adam had to ask because she seemed to have no plans of doing that.

"Oh, that's up to you big boy~, I can do this all night or concede to you. Which one will it be?" Himeno who was drawing circles on Adam's chest found herself on the couch across the table. And as much as that sudden teleportation shocked her, there was only one word she wanted to say.

"Meanie…" She pouted picking up another can of beer. This was a sign of a clear rejection.

"Anyway, I think we are done with the talk, so I'll go," Adam stood up, his feet guiding him towards the door. But just as he was wearing his shoes, Himeno came over and hugged him from behind.

"Adam, wanna fuck?" She whispered in his ear slowly, none of her previous seductiveness or smugness was there. It was a clear invitation without ulterior motives.

"Stop it," Adam sighed, they just had this talk but she didn't seem to understand it, or at least she was trying not to. Because if she did that it would be her defeat.

"Let's just say that we were drunk and did things," Himeno continued to speak in his ear. She wanted it to happen and was trying what she could, even making up excuses for him.

"Neither of us is drunk," Adam stood after putting his shoes on, craning his neck to look at her.

"You don't want to do it with me?" She asked. No matter how much she thought about it, Himeno didn't understand why he could deny her this resolutely.

"Only if you can get over him," Adam said staunchly. He didn't want to leave any points that she could exploit. After all, it wouldn't do any good for both of them, other than complicating things more.

"…" Himeno had no answer for him. There was nothing she could say that could convince him otherwise. She could only see him walk out, as the door closed in front of her. She walked back into the living room and lay on the floor.

"Heartless jerk…but it isn't like I can blame you," She sighed. There was no reason to blame him, everything he said was correct. The only reason this didn't work was because he was sure of his words and actions, he was very different from her. She had not been able to move forward because of the fear.

All she could do was drink and act more wildly to justify her actions, that is why she drank. One beer, two beers, ten beers… soon she was lying in the middle of a dozen empty cans. Her face flushed as her eye glazed over, there was only one thing to do now.

"I'll try to be more direct… I need to make Aki understand, even if he is focused on his goal… I…" Muttering to herself Himeno passed out on the floor, her body curling up because of the cold seeking a warmth that she couldn't get till now. But she did feel it, even if it was only for a few seconds.

'She really has no sense of safety,' Adam sighed placing the mumbling Himeno on the bed and covering her with the blanket. He walked out of the room and locked the main door from inside. She hadn't done that and passed out cold in the living room.

"How careless is she?" Adam shook his head as he phased through the door. Walking down the stairs he exited the building and saw the car he had arrived in, waiting patiently for him.

"Let's go," He said as the driver nodded. His destination was Makima's house.

After a few minutes, he was stopped in front of the flat, using the key she gave him to open the main door. Removing his shoes he stepped into the corridor. As soon as he appeared in a cozy living room that had ample lighting, he saw her sitting on the couch, caressing the fur of Mochi who was asleep next to her.

"You came back earlier?" Makima tilted her head. There was an obvious presence of shock present in her expression.

"Well, I just had to drop her at the house. Did you think I would come back in the morning?" Adam joked sitting on the soft couch. But she nodded to his words.

"Why do you think it would take that much time?" He asked with a twitching smile.

"Because you last abnormally longer in bed," But Makima's answer was more direct. She expected him to be back by morning or afternoon. But here he was in less than an hour.

"…What?" Adam turned to look at her stiffly, what did this have to do with him sending Himeno home? It wouldn't make sense unless Makima knew that it would happen, and thinking back on her actions and the way she sent him off.

"Makima did you…?" She nodded. It was clear what Makima thought would happen. And the worst thing was that he couldn't deny it, because it could happen. But there was more shocking information waiting for him.

"I set things up so you can be alone with her. What I am not sure about is, why you didn't do it? After all, you said you found Himeno interesting," Makima propped her chin on her delicate hand, and a look of curiosity took over her beautiful face. She really wanted to know why he didn't do it, because he wasn't that reserved about it with her. He did stop her once, but she understood his reason. But why would he not do it after showing interest first?

'Wait is she talking about that…?' Adam blinked. He did say that he found Himeno interesting, but it wasn't in the way Makima had concluded.

"So, that is why you did all of that?" She nodded at his words making him sigh. He leaned on the backrest not knowing what to say to her, "I didn't mean it in that way, I was interested in her contract."

"It looks like I have made some trouble," Makima said but he shook his head. She only realized just now that she hadn't understood what he wanted, which caused her to make a bad plan.

"No, it is fine. I am not without faults here. I should focus on you because I came here for that reason." Adam shook his head. It was his mistake of getting distracted, and leaving with Himeno knowing the latter acting. Even if Makima said she was okay with it, he should've been better in that situation.

"You came here for me?" This is when a puzzled Makima asked her question.

"Yes, I wanted to spend some more time with you. And maybe advance the relationship between us a little?" Adam smiled looking at her. This was the first time he had seen her eyes widen during a conversation. But the shock was short-lived as her face went back to normal. And after a few seconds, Makima opened her mouth.

"Adam, I did say that I was about to visit you, right?" Adam nodded. She did say that this afternoon, but why was she bringing it up again? They were still talking about his mistake. What he didn't know was that Makima was long over that as her real thoughts took hold of her.

"Well, the thing is that I haven't been able to think of anything aside from you since you left that day," Makima spoke with her usual expression, but her words could be interpreted in many ways. Adam sat up straight and stared at her, trying to understand what she exactly meant. But it wasn't easy to understand.

"What do you mean?" So he asked. Adam was interested to know what she meant by that, why was she thinking about him?

'Is she changing already? Or was it because of her plan?' Adam wondered if it was actual feelings or another plan that she wanted to start, but he could also be wrong. Just that in this case he wasn't.

"I am not sure, but the desire to see you has been increasing within me since you left, and now that you are sitting next to me. My body is reacting in a way it has never before," Makima stood up from the couch, and came in front of Adam, taking his big hand into her frail ones.

"What?" Adam still couldn't follow. He was more mesmerized by the red on her ears. But even with that, her expression was the same.

"You can feel it yourself," She said. Placing his hand on her chest, but before Adam had the chance to be surprised by this sudden action. He was taken aback by what his palm felt, and he wasn't thinking about her soft and springy breasts that were cushioning his palm.

"Your heartbeat?" Adam muttered and she nodded, the red hue spreading to her smooth cheeks.

"I am not certain why, but since that day I've gone through this every time I've thought of you. And it increased sharply when I saw you today, and it continues to increase when I am in contact with you. This has never happened to me before, so I am confused myself as I fail to control this no matter how much I try…"
