'He still reduced the amount of damage by moving slightly even in that position,' Unohana thought as she reached Adam to attack him again, after a full day of work she was finally able to set up this attack.

'He broke free…...' Unohana was cut in half as he had broken free of the restraints at the last minute, 'It is still not enough…?' but this wouldn't stop her.
If one plan failed she'd try ten, if they failed she'd think of a hundred more, and if even they didn't work, 'I'll just keep trying till it works,' she was hell-bent on killing him.
And worst of all she had the time and means to do that, she didn't need to worry about death, nor her injuries weighing her down.
She can maintain her Bankai endlessly, and she can heal herself as many times as needed.
In the end, she had everything she needed to kill him, but even then every time it felt like she was close, Adam kept getting stronger.
But it wasn't like Adam was doing that purposefully to avoid getting killed.
'She is improving at an alarming rate,' Adam had to make sure that he was increasing his strength to match Unohana's increasing prowess.
Otherwise, without the challenge, she wouldn't be able to continue developing at that rate.
'After all, this is what she wanted in the end,' Adam thought while fighting with Unohana, it was a wild battle that was full of chopped limbs and blood flying about.
And Unohana was completely absorbed in it, at this moment she was just fighting, with no regard for anything else, almost like she was running with an empty head.
This was the battle she wanted, she didn't have to worry about anything, death, usage of powers, stamina, she needed to worry about nothing.
But the thing she didn't know was that, there were other things she didn't need to worry about as well.
Things such as the potential for growth, enhancing her Physical and mental abilities, learning new skills, and improving her previous skills, currently she was charging full speed with all of her limiters turned off.
This is what it meant when Adam said that she could fight without any worries.
In this whole month, Unohana had endless potential, this was the true contract between her and Adam.
But Unohana was enjoying the thrill of the battle more, rather than her own growth.
'How should I use it this time?' That is why her growth went unnoticed even by herself, 'Maybe use it like this?' she kept experimenting with her skills, and tweaked them in the moment.
'Next time I'll definitely kill him.' And she was too absorbed into the idea of killing Adam, because he was the strongest being she had met.
So, she kept on devising plans to make that happen, and kept on improving at a terrifying rate because she enjoyed the battle in its entirety.
No matter how many times she was near death, she never got tired of that feeling. And it just kept getting better and better, as she was able to draw out the battles longer, it was thanks to her senses getting sharper with continuous battle.
And because of that she was able to land a few fatal injuries on Adam, but that was as far as she could go.
It was just that, thanks to being in her trance, she had forgotten about the passing of time.
"Well, that is the end," One month passed by in the blink of an eye.
"Can I make another contract?" Unohana asked straight away, she was still high on the previous feeling, and didn't want to let go of it.
"You cannot make more than one contract at a time," Adam said and Unohana realized, he had done his part but the contract was still in duration, since she had not paid the price.
"Then is it possible to make another after I complete the first one?" She decided to ask since she didn't want this to end.
"No, that's not possible either," Adam shook his head, but...
"Why is i-ugh," Unohana nearly fell, but she was caught by Adam who had expected this.
'I can't move…' Unohana was distraught, she couldn't feel any strength in her body, 'Is this why…?'
"Yes, you are at your limit," Seeing the shock in her eyes Adam nodded in affirmation.
Unohana wanted to know why this was happening, but her eyes were getting heavy; she didn't even have the power to utter a single word at this moment.

Her eyes closed and everything went dark for her, she had fallen asleep, how long had she been in that darkness? She had no idea.
The only thing she knew was that, 'What is this warm feeling around me?' she wondered that during the duration of her entire sleep.

"So, it was the bed," Unohana sat up sluggishly, her head was still ringing but, "How long was I asleep for?" she asked Adam who had just walked into the room.
"4 days, I thought you'd take longer," Adam smiled giving her a glass of water.
"I assume this is because of what we did in that month," Unohana asked after drinking the water, because she was interested in the cause of this.
"Yes it is because of that month-long battle," Adam nodded, in that time Unohana had used an ungodly amount of Spiritual power and she had been injured countless times more importantly, "Do you remember how many times you died?"
"I don't," Unohana hadn't paid any attention to that, but she could understand that it was the reason for her current situation.
"It was 781,125,691 times," Adam had counted all of them, "even if you don't die thanks to the contract, there is still a limit to how much of that you can take, both of deaths and the growth at once."
"Is that why you set the contract period to one month?" Unohana hadn't questioned before, but she understood why that was the time limit.
"Yes, also it wouldn't be good to continue after this, you have a huge improvement in that month so…." Adam didn't really need to explain to her.
"It would be better if I make sure to consolidate what I have acquired," Unohana was now back to her normal self, she could read the situation calmly and understand what was happening.
'My mind was too clouded with battle before,' Unohana knew that it would happen, 'I was too elated, so I didn't want it to end.' That is why she was acting like that before she collapsed.
"Then let's go and eat," Adam said making her look up.
"Eat?" there was a slight shock on her face, and it wasn't without reason, what would food do to her?
"It is to help you recover quickly, don't you feel sluggish still?" Unohana could only nod at those words, her body was still not in good shape; she had woken up too early and thus didn't get enough rest.
'The food has a restorative effect, I should've guessed,' Unohana concluded as she stood up, 'I am not used to this….' She nearly sighed because she felt like she might fall at any second.
This feebleness made her feel weird at that moment.
"Want me to help?" Adam asked looking at her somewhat shaky legs, but an expected answer came.
"There is no need for that," Unohana said while taking slow and steady steps.
"Alright, do tell me if you need help," Adam smiled and led her out of the room, they went to the newly made dining room at a slow pace, and on the table.
'There are way too many unknown dishes here,' Unohana thought as her eyes went through the numerous plates there.
"Take a seat," Adam said while pulling a chair for her, she sat down without a word.
Not because she didn't want to talk, but because her eyes were fixed on something, and Adam noticed it as well.
"Are you interested in Fried Chicken?" Adam asked and…
"Is that what it is called?" Unohana asked a question of her own and Adam nodded.
"You can eat it if you want to," For some reason, Adam sounded proud, but she didn't notice it and picked up a piece with her chopsticks.
'It has a strong aroma,' Unohana thought looking at the Fried chicken that was covered in a dangerous-looking glossy and thick red sauce, it looked quite appetizing as well.
The pieces were bite-sized so she was able to put it in her mouth at once, 'It has a… lot of spice,' her eyes widened a little as soon as it touched her tongue, but this was nothing.
As soon as she bit into it, the crunchy coating along with juicy chicken was mixed with the spicy sauce, and she was swept off her feet in an instant.
'This is… tasty,' Unohana thought as she started to eat it one after another, she really liked it and it was evident on her face.
