The Test

Heero was speechless at how the test went. It was completely different from Dramonia.

Dramonia, a place he came from, had heroes. In order to become a hero, there were several conditions that had to be fulfilled.

Firstly, the temple had its own people who would test potential heroes in battle. The people called the tester Barrier, a barrier you had to pass in order to become a hero.

One had to gain Barrier's approval before proceeding to the next step.

The next step, or the second condition, was to hunt the lowest level beast or specter. You had to kill at least ten beasts or specters.

Whether it was a team hunt or a solo hunt, you had to kill the beast or specter. Finally, you had to complete the Apprentice quest set by the Heroes' Guild.

Once you had completed these three steps, a priest from the Nebraska Temple would hold a simple ceremony to appoint you a Hero.

This is how the test worked in Dramonia. You would be appointed an Apprentice Hero. To increase your rank, you had to hunt either a wild beast or a specter, or complete a quest set by the Heroes' Guild.

In this respect, the system of the Hero League was very similar to that of Dramonia. As for the test, it was completely different.

"What is wrong? This is how the Hero League has been testing candidates for years!" A man's voice with an unpleasant tone sounded from the back.

Heero, Bai Xin Yue and Kang Seo-Yeon turned around.

A middle-aged man with a clean face and neat hair was walking towards them. He had overheard Heero's words and was dissatisfied with Heero, feeling that Heero was condescending to the Hero League's testing system.

Heero shook his head and looked back at the arena.

Below, the candidates were being divided into many groups and tested by the machine the Hero League had prepared.

"What's that guy doing?" Heero pointed at a man standing in front of a machine.

The man was preparing to punch the machine.

"This is a machine to test the candidate's strength. The machine can measure his strength and turn his strength into a score!" Bai Xin Yue explained as her eyes followed Heero's finger.

"The highest score is 100, while the lowest is 0. The standard score we set is 40, if his strength is below 40, he has failed!" Kang Seo-Yeon added.

"You don't know such a basic thing? How can they appoint you as the Chief of Hero Instructors? Those old men must have old..." The middle-aged man walked up to the three of them and sneered.

Kang Seo-Yeon and Bai Xin Yue frowned and turned their heads towards the middle-aged man.

"What about that one!" Heero pointed at a man wearing a helmet. There were many cables connected to the helmet as the man who wore it sat in the chair.

He did not spare a glance at the middle-aged man, even though he was being targeted. He remained unperturbed as he continued to ask the other things.

"It's a virtual machine. The virtual machine used to test..."

Bai Xin Yue and Kang Seo-Yeon explained everything Heero asked them

Heero simply had too many questions. As for the middle-aged man, the three ignored him. They regarded him as air.

"Hah..."

Heero rubbed his forehead with his hand and let out a sigh.

"No wonder... no wonder..."

No wonder the heroes on Earth were weak. The standard for choosing heroes was just too low, '

These people had no practical experience of fighting in the wild. You could say it was just a physical examination. The heroes were chosen by physical examination, "Even Dong-Woo and Lingxun could beat most of these guys..."

"I guess I have to change my plan! How am I supposed to choose my apprentice with such a pointless test..."

"Let's go to my office first! Where's my office?"

The two girls volunteered to be Heero's guide on his first day. Heero gladly accepted. It was much better to be guided by someone he knew.

Even though he was quite interested in the advanced machine. All in all, he was quite disappointed.

"You... you... you dare to ignore me!" The middle-aged man pointed his finger rudely at Heero. He was furious that he had been ignored for half an hour.

"I am a Master Instructor. Many gold-class heroes have been born by my hand! Soon... Soon I will be a Grandmaster Instructor, you should show me some respect, kid!"

Kang Seo-Yeon stopped her steps and looked at the middle-aged man.

"Funny, a subordinate asking his superior to respect him! Have you gone mad, Kim Han-Pyo?" Kang Seo-Yeon could not help but flare up.

They had been ignoring him, but it seemed that Kim Han-Pyo was determined to cause trouble.

"Kukuku... Look what we have here, you little girl dares to go against me now! Stay away if you don't want to drag your family down with you, little girl!"

Kim Han-Pyo threatened Kang Seo-Yeon arrogantly.

"Ah, I know why you dare to talk to me like that. It's because of your fiancé... Wait a minute... You have a fiancé, but you're still playing around with such a young man! You are really brave..."

"Kukuku... I wonder what Jin-Soo will do when he finds out... Interesting... It's interesting..."

"The new Chief Hero Instructor is having an affair with the Emperor Class Hero's fiancé... Kukuku... This is going to be a headline, a huge one..."

Park Jin-Soo, a prodigy to rival Musashi Naizen. In his early thirties, he reached Emperor Class Hero. Now he was Emperor Class Hero - rank 16.

Kang Seo-Yeon's father, Kang Yun-Cheol, betrothed his daughter to this prodigy without her consent. Everyone in the inner core region knew about it.

Kang Seo-Yeon gritted her teeth, obviously angry, but she did nothing. She could not touch the middle-aged man, even though she was stronger than him.

It was frustrating, but she knew she had to put up with it.

Kim Han-Pyo had the Kim family behind him, a colossal family. The Kang family was nothing compared to the Kim family.

The Kim family not only had two heroes of the emperor class, but also two elders and a supreme moon, Kim Jung-Mun.

The Kang family relied only on Kang Myung-Chul, who was the Grandmaster Instructor. The difference in power between the two families was like the difference between heaven and earth.

Heero, who was always silent, patted the girl on the back and smiled at her. He had intended to ignore this man, but he could not ignore the man again when the girl was standing for him.

He took two steps forward and stood in front of Kim Han-Pyo, then opened his mouth, "You said many gold class heroes were born under your hand? I assume you are a hero instructor?"

"Yes! I am Kim Han-Pyo of the Kim family, a Master Instructor!" The middle-aged man proudly announced his identity.

"Hoho... Then you should know who I am, right? I am the Chief Hero Instructor, your superior!"

"According to the contract, I have full authority over all Hero Instructors, including Grandmaster Instructors. Not to mention a mere Master Instructor... I can fire you for disrespecting your superior..."

Plop!

Suddenly Kim Han-Pyo fell to his knees. His hair was soaked with sweat as his face turned red.

He clenched his teeth, as if he was enduring something. His eyes were wide open as he looked up at Heero.

Bam!

Kim Han-Pyo put his hands on the floor and bent down. He was kneeling with his body almost touching the floor.

"Hey! Hey! You don't have to do this! All right! I won't dismiss you, just get up!"
