Chapter Hundred and Ninety six

"Becca! Becca!! Andrew yell out her name as he ran up the hills, it was already freezing out here and she was still out there.

He couldn't understand how Sunny disappeared, she was at the party, and the next minute, she disappeared.

The only person that could be behind this was Sam and no one else but he was sure that the security was right, how then did he get in or succeed with his plan?

"It was my fault, if I haven't shown my face tonight, she wouldn't have left you guys". Josh stopped pacing for a while at stared at both girls.

"Look here nothing is your fault here, you shouldn't blame yourself, I guess by now Sunny would have been found"

Gina said to lighten the room because it had been hours now, and they still haven't got any information, and they all had been trying to get hold of her through her cell phone but it was already switched off.

Maybe her phone died, she tried the convince herself a dozen times now.

"If she had been found, I need to go and check out for myself, I can't just sit here and do nothing".

He felt guilty like hell and just being here made him want to scream his head out, he wasn't some sort of kid that should be kept locked up in a house and told what to do.

Jade and Gina watched him walk to the door, just then the door pulled open, and Miranda and Josh's walked in just in time to see his son walking out.

"Where are you going? She held him by his arm attempting to stop him. "Has she been found? That was the first thing he wanted to know but just by the look on his mother's face, told her all he wanted to know...Sunny was still missing.

He felt his heart drop, he couldn't stand here and wait, he need to be out there looking for her, he was the reason he got missing in the first place. It gets like hell thinking about it, he snatched his arm away from his mother's grip and jog off.

He was going to look for her by himself despite hearing his name as he jogs off, he didn't stop or answer, he also need to be out there.

He just couldn't stand being indoors and waiting for any news that they'll bring, his heart broke each minute he was there waiting...

"Josh!!! Miranda called out but she was already at a far distance, jogging off to his car that was parked along the road, she watched him drive away with tears in her eyes.

She had expected this night to turn out well not this disaster it had formed. She turned back to the house and saw the girls sitting by the fireplace still wearing their immaculate gowns.

It just looks so perfect until you look at their face to tell you how worried they look, they were all worried about their best friend.

"Has she been found? Jade asked not hesitating for a bit. Miranda looked at them sadly, she hates to break the news to them but she has to tell them, they are her friends so they have every right to know.

"No news of her yet but the search team is still searching for her now, she'll be seen soon". She tried as much as possible to lighten her voice just to calm them for a bit.

" I don't understand how she'll be around and the next minute missing, we were all together before she saw Josh and made her way out, Josh was right behind her in a minute then how then did she get missing"

"I think she might be somewhere close by..." Just then it was drawn to her that she didn't know both their name "Gina" and "And I'm Jade" Jade added saving her the stress of a long introduction.

"I'm Miranda, nice to meet you girls" the girls nodded with a brief smile on their faces, she know that they were trying their best to look fine.

"Why don't I make you girls some tea, your parents will be here any minute to take you, girls, home and the police are coming along too just to let you girls know".

"Police? They both look frightened "They're just coming to ask a few questions that's all, they're going the same to a lot of students at the graduation field".

"This means that this thing is serious, Sunny is really missing" Gina's legs trembled at this realization she grab the nearest cushion so she won't fall.

Jade reached out and hold her hand tightly, she was also lost for words.

She didn't want to believe that her friend missing, they had been together waiting patiently for the after party when parents some of the parents have left and the rest would no more pay attention to them.

They would drink to stupor and dance till their leg hurt, they all had been waiting for this hour till this dreadful incident happened.

Josh's mother came around and handed them tea. "Drink up girls"

Andrew finally sights Becca at the top of the hill, kneeling there with a confused look on her face.

He knows what she might think and how confused she was now but he had to get her home because it was already freezing outside.

"Rebecca! he called out but got nothing in response, he had to walk up to her, taking off his jacket and wrapping it around her body.

"Rebecca" he bent toward her and saw the lost gaze in her eyes. "Have my daughter been found, where is she? Andrew hates to break it to her that her daughter had not yet been found.

" She will, Becca, a lot of people are out there looking for her, in no time we'll see her but now we have to get you home, it freezing out here".

"She might have just wandered off, I think I should stay and wait for her".

"I don't think you'll find her by staying here Becca, you'll freeze to death if you stay the next hour here what then would Sunny when she finds out? You have to be there for her.

With this, he helped her up with his jacket still wrapped tightly around her, all Rebecca could think of was her daughter. She was somewhere but where nobody had called to tell her that her daughter had been found.

They were still looming for her, she still don't want to believe it, her daughter might be at home but she had sent word at home and would have gotten the information if she was there.

Her daughter was missing that was the sad truth and she couldn't do anything to stop her, she wasn't able to protect her daughter.

She had been prepared to save her from danger anytime in her life but this one...she was stunned by words.

" I need to find my daughter". Andrew held her shoulder gently as the walked down the hill. "We will Becca, I promise you".

Emily was already at the house when she arrived, she saw her face snd it was clear that she had been crying for a long.

She ran to embrace her tightly as she called her by her name. "Has she been found? Without answering Emily gave already knew the answer, Sunny was still missing.

Becca wanted to bury her face in her sister's arm and cry, she wanted to tell her how much it hurts to be separated from her daughter again. This time she did not even know where she was if she was even fine.

She wanted to tell her how much it hurt to even breathe or talk, that all she wanted was to see her daughter snd make sure she was fine. She wanted to tell her that she was angry at her because she had failed as a mother.

She was supposed to protect and keep her daughter safe but she wasn't able to do that one simple task.

Tears formed in her eyes and slowly slide down, crowding her eyes and making her body shiver in pain.

"I was supposed to keep her safe" this time she did not only think but she said it aloud, she had failed and that was the truth. "You don't have to say that, you did not fail...

But that was a lie, she was just saying that to make her feel good. She couldn't save her daughter, she couldn't be there for her when she needed her the most.

It felt like a stabbing pain in her chest, tearing her apart slowly. It was a pain that reminds her of how much she had failed to protect, it was a pain that breaks you down into final pieces.

A pain that would make you dead while you're alive, she needs to find her daughter and get her revenge on whoever was behind this. "She's missing Emily, I have failed to protect her when she needed me the most, I'll she'd blood if it means getting her back"
