Chapter Hundred and Eighty nine

They all felt speechless when they got home but Rebecca even didn't bother bringing up what had happened at the mall. Sunny couldn't help but wonder what he had said to her mum.

She found herself pacing through her room, she was tired of seeing that man's face, the man she had loved her. She didn't want to see his face again or have him coming close to her mum ever again "I think you're going to get a headache if you continue like this" Jade said to her but she ignored her.

"Jade a right, can you stop pacing already, I feel dizzy just watching you" Sunny sighed and slumped down on her bed "I'm so tired of seeing that man's face, why don't he understand" "I don't think you should worry, your mum would definitely take care of him"

"I just want it to be us in the picture, I just want us to finally be happy, I don't want him to keep showing up in our life, I think Tara had finally realized that she had lost me, and it Sam's time to get it into his head"

Gina stood up from where she was sitting on the couch and walked up to her "You should stop worrying your head over him, your mum wouldn't be happy if she's are you like this, you should leave it for her to take care of it and to don't have to act as if he even exist"

Sunny nodded but it wasn't as easy as it sounds, how could she act as if he doesn't exist while hearing only his voice sent a shiver to her spin? How could she act that way knowing that he was capable of doing harmful things without even giving a damn?

She lay on her bed and watched the white ceiling and thought of nothing when she heard her door pulled open. She heard her mum as she walked up to her and felt her hand in hers.

"You don't have to lay here like this all evening Sunny" "why? She asked nonchalantly "Remember, Josh, invited you over for dinner" "What if I decided to go". "Why? You should at least give him time to explain himself".

"Not only that mum, not only Josh" "But what Sunny, I can't leave you to suck in your room all day" "I'm not sucking" she sat up now and looked at her mother. "How did you expect me to go through my day while you're acting as if nothing happened? " What are you saying Sunny, nothing happened"

"That's what I'm saying mum, you just act like this and expect me to be okay with it, how I'm I going to act that everything is fine knowing that my life and that of you are bringing threaten by this man!

"I know you really want to protect me but It's just hard for me" "I know it is baby, by you can't keep allowing him to get to you, that's what he wanted, and getting worried like this means you're giving him the pressure and satisfaction watching you get this scared and worried".

" I don't want to but it...difficult". "Then don't even think of him, don't give yourself the time to think about any of it, and to do that, you had to get dressed for dinner" Rebecca kissed her hair and flip the drop only tears away from her eyes, I want you to be happy Sunny, that's my first reality priority as a mother Sunny"

Sunny just watched get mother without saying a word "Now, you need to get dressed for dinner" She nodded at her "Thanks" she finally said as she watched her leave the room.

She lay back down on her bed and shut her eyes, she wanted to take a few minutes to relax and calm her mind.

Josh finds himself pacing and checking his wristwatch, it was just a few minutes to the dinner, and she hasn't arrived. Maybe she wasn't going to show up after acting like a freak to her for the past week.

Andrew and Miranda watched the panic on their son's face and when they finally heard the doorbell, how he seems relieved instantly.

Josh walked to the door, hoping and praying that it was Sunny that was standing at the door. He took a deep breath and then pushed the door open to see himself staring at the most gorgeous girl ever.

She was wearing a black dress that wraps around her body perfectly and had a simple but beautiful silver design on the neck and also with a gray jacket that was left unbuttoned.

"You're beautiful" that was the first word he found himself saying, her hair was left to fall on her shoulder. She looks like a beautiful princess "Thanks" Sunny smiled and waited for him to stop staring at her.

"Josh" she called out after some seconds pretending that his stare didn't make her a bit exposed.  "Umm, sorry..he smiled and took her hand in his. " I'm sorry Sunny for ignoring you for the last week, I'm so, so sorry for acting like a freak and I just want to make it up to you"

She wasn't angry anymore, she didn't feel any of that sad emotion, she feel light and happy being here with him. "Come" he finally led her in "My mother would be happy to meet you, I forgot that tell you that" he whispered into her eyes.

His lips seem to brush against her skin and she felt a sudden chill remembering the kiss they both shared in her art room. "I'll love to meet her" Sunny smiled. As Josh lead her to the dining area where Andrew was already waiting with his wife.

Happily, she walked toward him and embraced him "it's been long Sunny" Andrew kissed her hair "It's good to meet you, uncle". Miranda also opened her arm to welcome her too "Nice to finally meet you Sunny". " Thanks," Sunny hugged her.

"You know, I had heard a lot about you from my husband and son and I can't just wait to hear from you, come let's eat, the good is almost getting cold"  She smiled feeling much welcome.

Josh had to collect her jacket from her, and she found herself seated beside him, and at her right was his mother. Dinner is a simple meal but delicious "So, Josh told me about your exam, how's it going so far".

She swallowed the food in her mind before answering " Okay" Sunny looked at Josh who she had noticed staring at her through the dinner before turning back to his mother.

"It's okay but at the same time difficult" she laughed followed by his mother then Andrew and Josh. "I'm trying to do my best". " Sure, and I heard you're a real artist" "The very best" Andrew added.

"Not...the way they say" Sunny widened her eyes at Josh who shrugged. "She had been drawing all her life, when she was little she used this tiny crayon and multiple colors to draw and after that, her mother used to paste her drawings on the fridge"

"Oh" Sunny covered her face in laughter "Yeah, it's been a long time,"  she said. "Yeah, but you turned out to be a very good artist," Josh said to her and he found him giving her that stare that always makes her seem to melt into a liquid.

She broke the stare and focused back on her food "I'm not that good yet" She smiled as she scopes some of the food into her mouth. Andrew kept remembering her childhood memories which she also can't remember but it was good and interesting hearing them from him.

Interesting but also weird knowing that he would have been with his mother to the extent that he was then planning on being his dad and her probably not going to meet Josh. She swallowed hard to tell herself that none of that doesn't matter, he wasn't his father now...

He had a family on himself and if she was destined to meet Josh that she'll probably meet him no matter the situation, just like Josh drawing about the soul mates.

Josh found himself staring at her as she laughed, it was one of the beautiful memory that you'll always want to carry with you. He reached out for her hand under the table and watched her turn instantly when his hand touched hers.

It was like an electric wave that passed through then and finally, she smiled and tightened her grip on his hand. It felt so warm and lovely sitting side by side with him.

"So Josh good you about us traveling back right? "Hmmm? Sunny felt she had misheard and wanted to hear the words again. "He told you were traveling back right, we've stayed do long here and we think it time to go back home," His mother said and at that instant, she felt a sudden stillness.

He never told her of that...
