CHAPTER 1-NEW DAY

"Are you sure about this? I mean,we could just find a teacher and get me home schooled,you know? What if the other kids don't like me? or what if I don't fit in? I honestly think this is a bad idea. Xavier expressed, throwing the dishes abruptly into the sink..

A slender,tall and fair woman in her late thirties,who was leaning on the kitchen door, whilst staring sweetly at Xavier, walked briskly towards him,and gave him an assuring hug from behind. She ran her five fingers in his thick black hair,before placing a brief kiss on his cheek.

"How can they not like you,honey? What's there not to like about you? You're such an amazing person.So I'm sure they would like you the moment they get to know you. I know moving to this city has been hard on you,I know you miss your old school and your friends,but honey,give this city a try. I'm sure you would love it here. So hurry up, let's get going. You don't wanna be late on your first day,do you? Elizabeth smiled Swifty at her teenage son,Xavier' whilst assisting him to knot his tie properly.

"I hope so,mum! This city is much bigger and more developed than our previous,and I'm just scared that I might not fit in or make any friends. What if they think of me as not social or civilised enough? I loved my life back in the province and I miss it so much. It has just been two weeks since we moved here,but it feels like two years. I'm a little bit nervous about today.

Elizabeth tucked Xavier's face in her palm firmly,and his sad,dark brown irises greeted hers.She flashed at him series of sweet smiles, before moving to hold his left hand faintly. She sighed deeply whilst entwining his hand into hers.

"I understand everything son! But you know, sometimes change is good right? there are better hospitals and doctors here. You can get treated in no time, and moreover in this city you have higher opportunities of fulfilling your dreams. I hope you understand my decision for us moving all the way here! You'll do great today, I'm sure of it. You're like the smartest and strongest person I know,so how can you not fit in? Elizabeth reciprocated!

Xavier scoffed,and turned his back to his mother,immediately she was done speaking.

"Dreams? Treatment? I don't know why you still bother and think of all those things. My time on earth is limited, and I have come to terms with that. There's no treatment or medication that can lengthen my life. Xavier blurted out tearfully.

Elizabeth turned her face to Xavier abruptly, as she spoke on top of her voice,That he won't die, and she would go as far as hell to see to that.She ended her statement with two hot streams of tears rolling down her fluffy cheeks, before hurriedly running away from the kitchen. Xavier sobbed silently for a moment, and walked out of the kitchen casually. He passed through their medium sized living room,with his eyes darting about,as if searching for something. He grabbed his backpack from the hand of the sofa close to the exit,and saunderd outside almost immediately. He was greeted by the sight of a black Toyota Camry,the moment he stepped out. He entered into the car without hesitation, and sulked his butt into the front passenger seat.The atmosphere was tensed,until Xavier broke the akward silence in the vehicle.

"I'm sorry mum! It wasn't my intention to make you cry. You're doing everything for me to get healthier and here I am being ungrateful towards your. Thank you for everything! We should get going now,to avoid us being tardy. Xavier spoke with an iota of remorse and affection.

Elizabeth rose her head from the steering wheel of the vehicle,dipped her left hand into her black bag,and brought out a white handkerchief. She dabbed the tears off her eyes gently with the handkerchief,before heaving a deep sigh of relief.

"I want you to know that I won't let anything bad happen to you. We will continue to move from one city to another,if it means getting the best doctors to treat you. Have faith in the almighty, nothing will happen to you. I will give up my life to see you get cured. You're just 17 years old,so how can you die now! Just be strong for me.

Xavier responded with a nod,and the mother,son duo hugged passionately. Elizabeth glanced at her wrist watch afterwards,and realized that it was almost 7:30am. She began driving out of their apartment speedily,to avoid Xavier getting late on his first day of school, and also her getting late for the office. It was a thirty five minutes ride from their apartment to Xavier's new school. The duo conversed happily,as they drove to school. Twenty eight minutes into their ride,they alighted at the packing lot of BLUE FIELD INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY.

BLUE FIELD INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY is the most popular and expensive school in the whole of Life camp city. You have to be filty rich or at least financially stable to be able to attend the school. The school has the most prestigious amenities imported from foreign countries in the whole of the city.BLUE FIELD INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY is indeed a huge school. The school is a twenty five story building with different facilities.

Elizabeth and Xavier sauntered to the principal's office after they alighted. They both acknowledged the beauty and architecture of the school. Students in their blue and white uniform same as Xavier walked pass them in different directions. Some seniors could be seen addressing their juniors. It was a sight to be hold for Xavier. His school back in the province was nothing close to his new school. They finally reached the principal's office with the assistance of a junior student.

Principle Franklin ushered them in and welcomed Xavier officially to the city and the school. He promised Xavier would love it here,and praised him for his good grades in his previous school. A small booklet was handed to Xavier by the principal, which entails all the list of social activities in the school. He was asked by the principal to pick an activity before the day runs out. A book containing the rules and regulations was also handed to him. The principal operated on his computer for a while, before announcing that he just assigned Xavier to Mr Omar's class,which is on the sixth floor. Elizabeth also reminded the principal about Xavier's health condition and the principal assured her he was in safe hands. He also promised to take extra care of him and not involve him in strenuous school activities.

The principal dismissed Xavier to his class, and asked Elizabeth to wait behind. Elizabeth hugged Xavier again,before he left for class.

The principal's office was on the seventeenth floor,so Xavier had to use the elevator to get to his class,which is on the sixth floor. After much admiration of the floor he was on,he sauntered into the elevator,pressed the button that had 6 on it,once he entered the elevator. The elevator door was about closing when a girl hurriedly entered. She looked same age as Xavier. The uniform fitted her perfectly, although it looked a bit loose on her. Her black shiny hair swayed down to her shoulder. She had braces on. Her eyes had a dark spark in them,but she looked beautiful regardless.

The elevator door closed completely once she was inside. The elevator was filled with silence until Xavier noticed her bloody nose and bandaged head. He offered her a handkerchief for her bloody nose,but she shunned him without saying a word.

Xavier felt bad and cursed himself under his breath for trying to be nice to her.

The elevator came to a halt on the sixth floor,and the both of them alighted. The girl walked hurriedly into a class,whilst Xavier stood still looking confused. There were about twenty class rooms on this floor, and he was confused on which to enter. He looked around and saw a girl coming his way. He hesitantly said hi to her,she smiled at him and responded with a hey. He politely asked her to point him to Mr Omar's class. The latter responded cheerfully,and asked him to follow her as she was also headed there. Xavier thanked her and followed closely behind. Surprisingly they both entered the same class the injured and rude girl from earlier entered.

As the duo walked into the class,they noticed class had already begun. A chubby woman in her late forties was at the front of the class teaching the students what seemed like geometry. All attention was paid to the duo that just walked in and it made Xavier really anxious. The students started murmuring amongst themselves,but the teacher ordered to keep quiet. She asked the girl with Xavier why she came late to class.

"I'm sorry miss Smith. I'm just coming from Mr Tyler's office. He requested I came with my dad to school to see him today. The girl responded.

"What offense did you commit this time around,bethzy? This should be the last time you miss my class. Now go have your sit!

Bethzy did as she was told and took her sit at the front roll of the class.

Miss Smith glanced at Xavier who looked obviously nervous,and flashed him a short lived smile.

"Young man are you in this class? I have certainly not seen you here before.Miss Smith questioned Xavier in her usually small voice.

"Uhmmm,yes I'm new. I just started. Xavier managed to respond.

"Wow! you're welcome to Blue field international academy. Care to introduce yourself to your mates?

"Uhmmm,My name is Xavier. Xavier Cortes.

"You're welcome Xavier. I'm miss Willer Smith,but you can call me miss Smith. I'm your geometry teacher. Go on have your seat. You can seat close to Araceli over there.(pointing at the injured girl from the elevator)

Xavier scoffed after realizing he was made to fit with the rude girl from earlier. He simply said "Thank you" to Mrs Smith and walked to where he was asked to sit. The evident of almost all the girls staring lustfully at him. Xavier had always been the ladies type even back in the province.

He has never had the courage to confess his feelings to any girl before,but hundreds of beautiful girls always flocked around him. The only girl he ever had feelings for,never considered him as more than just her play buddy. Xavier had the looks every girl could want from a guy.

Xavier took his seat close to Araceli, and neither of them said anything to each other.

Class continued and miss Smith wrote an equation on the board and asked the whole classroom if anyone could try and solve it. The only hand that was up belonged to the extremely beautiful girl sitting close to bethzy.She stood up, and walked gracefully like a princess to the board. She solved the equation in less than five minutes and Miss Smith applauded her for her effort but denounced her wrong. She asked if anyone else would like to try again, and Xavier raised his hand. Impressed by his courage,miss Smith called him on. He solved the equation in less than three minutes and went straight back to take his seat. Overwhelmed,miss Smith asked the entire class to make a round of applause for Xavier, which they obeyed. She turned towards the girl who solved it wrong and said. "It seems like you finally have a competition in geometry,Lily"

Lily grinned annoyingly and turned around to give Xavier an evil glare. Xavier didn't mind and only smirked in return which infuriated Lily more. The bell was rung indicating geometry class was over. The student copied the assignment on the board and Miss Smith Left afterwards. The class was filled with noise and murmurs as soon as the teacher Left.

Without saying a word,Araceli left the classroom after the teacher did. Xavier watched in bewilderment as she exited the classroom with her head down. He was still in deep thought,when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and found a petite fair girl,with acne visible in her face, and her obviously bad teeth smiling at him. He responded to her smile with a brighter one.

"Hi,my name is Zalia.. Don't bother about Araceli, she's the class freak. Always showing up with different injuries and behaving like a dumb freak. I have an open seat close to me,you can come sit with I and my friend Jeremy over there.

"You have a pretty name,Zalia. Have you guys ever bothered to find out why she always has injuries? Thanks for your offer but I'm good here,I like this angle of the class..

Zalia blushed cheaply exposing her very bad teeth. "Thank you! Well about Araceli,no one cares about her. So no one knows,but rumour has it that her dad is a serial killer and she assist him in getting the job done. Don't worry about her.

"Hmmmmmmm, Interesting! Xavier responded faintly.

"Enough about Araceli. Are you a day student? and why did you switch school?

"Yeah! I'm a day student. I just relocated here with my mum.

Zalia was about responding but got hold of a figure approaching their direction and fleed immediately. Xavier turned immediately to see what made Zalia flee like that and he was greeted by the likes of Lily and Bethzy. Lily had a menace look to her very beautiful face,whilst Bethzy had a cheerful smile to her equally gorgeous face. Xavier seemed to be lost,as he kept staring at Lily like a cupcake about to be pounced on. Lily snapped a finger across his face and asked him to "Take a picture,that it last longer". Xavier became embarrassed,but didn't make it evident.

"Hello Newbee! I just came here to have a little chitchat with you. I'm the queen of Ornament hall and every student belonging to Ornament hall adores and respects me. It's just your first day here,so I'll advise you stay clear of me. You tried to steal my shine to

a while ago,never try that again or else you'll regret it. It's not a threat darling, it's a dare rather. Bethzy let's go!

Xavier stared at her disappearing figure in astonishment. He smirked again and reached out for his backpack.

"I thought we're in this together? Don't try to stop me now that I'm close to achieving my goals.I will be careful,I promise you! Tomorrow my second plan will be in motion. I will make all of them pay. I will finish their entire families and make them suffer,just like they made me seven years ago.I will call you once I arrive at Life camp city.(dropped the phone and smiled maniacally before boarding a vehicle).At the passenger seat of the vehicle,the young lady began to reminisce about the day it all began.

It was six years ago,She was just thirteen years old. Her father was newly appointed as the C.E.O of the company he worked for,although he was the youngest amongst his colleagues. Almost all his colleagues were unhappy about his promotion and their resentment towards him became evident.
