At 10.00 pm, Dylan and Abbie returned to the hotel where they were staying after talking to his grandfather and mother.
Because his father's attitude that seemed to dislike Abbie, Dylan finally chose to resign from the company after marriage, then Benjamin promised to give his big company to Dylan as his beloved grandson, and he did that because Dylan must have a bright future for his children and his wife. It was all unexpected because, in the end, Dylan would be able to inherit, but he had to be willing to let go of his father's company. But the man seemed to have no regrets at all he was even more convinced to marry his secretary who felt reluctant to accept it because she felt it was making his relationship with his father worse.
"You shouldn't have to be like this for me, while you know I can't necessarily love you back. I'm not sure that I can make you happy," said Abbie who had just entered the room. She stood by the door, saw Dylan who closed the door back then turned to look at her.
"Then what should I do?" asked Dylan with a raised eyebrow. "Do you want us to cancel our wedding just because my father can't accept you?"
Abbie looked down. "I just don't want to be the destroyer of your relationship as father and son."
"But I also have the right to be happy, and I can only be happy if I can marry you," Dylan said then put his hands on Abbie's shoulders and look at her eyes intensely. "You should have been more convinced to marry me, because I love you, even though I am willing to lose a lot of things to be with you. But you can see for yourself that my grandpa has prepared provisions for our future. You don't need to worry anymore," he reassured her.
"But how is your relationship with your father?" asked Abbie worriedly.
"I don't know." Dylan sighed, then took his hand from Abbie's shoulder. He walked towards the couch while saying, "I also never expected his response to being like that. Even though he usually agrees with my decisions. But now he doesn't seem like my decision."
"Of course he wants you to marry another girl who may be from a rich family like your family," said Abbie.
"I don't care what he wants, I don't care at all." Dylan sat beside Abbie, then embraced her from the side. "Don't think about this anymore. Besides, we already got the blessing from my mom, Grandpa, my sister, and maybe other family members too. If they meet you, they will also give their blessing. I don't want this marriage plan to fail just because of my father."
"Okay ..." Abbie sighed and surrendered because Dylan was persistent in marrying her.
"Let's rest. Tomorrow we will go to San Francisco to meet your parents," said Dylan.
Abbie looked up at Dylan. "Is your mother will come?"
"Yeah, well. It's kind of me to propose to you, so I bring my family. Mom, my sister, Grandpa. Definitely go there," Dylan explained casually.
Abbie was silent, staring at Dylan's chest. She imagined how her family would respond when suddenly there is guests who wanted to propose to her, everyone would be in shock because all this time her family knew that she didn't have a boyfriend.
Dylan let go of his embrace on Abbie when he heard his cell phone ring. He also grabbed the sophisticated object from his trouser pocket, then saw an incoming call from a contact number named Laura.
"Who's calling?" asked Abbie.
"Bastian, my friend from Los Angeles," answered Dylan, immediately turning off his cell phone and placing it on the table. "I don't want to talk to him, because he definitely invites me to hang out at the night club," he continued.
Abbie was silent, glancing at Dylan who was now smiling at her.
"I want to be with you tonight." Dylan kissed Abbie's lips as he hugged her back again. "I think I'll stay in this room too," he continued.
"No, you can't do that!" Abbie pushed Dylan.
"Why?"
"We're not married, we can't sleep in the same room," explained Abbie, distancing her body from Dylan.
"Abbie ..." Dylan again pulled Abbie closer to his body. "Sleeping together from now on or not, we're still going to get married. So there's no problem. Do you still not believe that I'm serious with you? Didn't you already know that my mom and grandpa planned to take me to propose to your family? Are you still unsure after I left my father's company to be with you?"
Abbie scrunched up her face. "I trust you."
"Then you don't need to be afraid anymore. I am your future husband, not a temporary boyfriend or a guy who just makes promises to you," Dylan said, then cupped Abbie's right jaw, making her look at him. "You want to learn to love me, right?"
Abbie nodded.
"Good girl." Dylan smiled warmly, looking at Abbie with pleasure.
Abbie just silent and does not know what to do. The feeling of awkwardness and still not expecting this situation still hit her heart, making her unable to think straight.
Dylan was also silent, staring at Abbie's innocence who was amazed him. 'She's beautiful, not wild, maybe she's still a virgin too. I am sure of it.'
"Eh ..." Abbie let go of Dylan's embrace. "I think I have to go to the toilet."
"Okay, I'll wait here."
Dylan let Abbie go to the toilet, and after that, he took his cell phone from the table. He saw an incoming message from Laura, then read it.
Laura: Dylan ... please, I want us to get back together. I can't live without you. Next month my work in Los Angeles is finished, I'm going to New York to meet you. I promise I will never let you feel alone again, I will spend time with you. I don't want to lose you!
Dylan was speechless, remembering that Laura had been his girlfriend for the last two years but he decided to end the relationship because she didn't have time for him. The long-distance relationship also made it impossible for him to survive, because he had to go back and forth from New York to Los Angeles in the midst of being busy taking care of his father's company.
Dylan immediately put his phone back on the table when he heard the sound of the door opening. He turned and saw Abbie coming out of the toilet with a slightly damp face like she had just washed her face. Seeing that girl made him feel like he had to stay away from Laura, not give her a chance to come back because he was going to marry Abbie.
"You really want to sleep here?" asked Abbie, awkward.
"Yes." Dylan approached Abbie, then pushed her gently until she fell onto a medium-sized bed that was covered with white sheets. "I want to sleep with you, I want to hug you until morning." He immediately hugged her tightly.
"But, I haven't changed yet."
"You don't have to change clothes, it's dangerous," Dylan said.
Abbie looked up and glanced at Dylan, who occasionally kissed her temple. "Why is it dangerous?"
"If you change clothes, I'll see your body which will definitely make my blood boil. I don't want to ruin you, I don't want to make love to you before we get married," Dylan explained, then rubbed Abbie's cheeks gently and looked at her eyes intensely. "I want, we have something special on our first night. You understand, right?"
Abbie was silent but slowly nodded her head. She swallowed her saliva, imagining how the situation of her first night with Dylan would be, where as now just being hugged she already felt very nervous, and trembling, even her heart was beating faster than usual.
