"Sherina! What do you mean, actually? You're not just embarrassing Jackson's family, but also your own family!" An angry old man scolded Sherina, as he was very displeased with what Sherina had done.
"I'd rather endure a moment of shame for replacing the groom who was going to marry me, rather than marrying Jackson, because it would make my life miserable!" Sherina gave a straightforward answer.
A neatly dressed woman walked towards Sherina; she was Mrs. Edward, stepping towards Sherina, drawing all eyes to her.
"Sherina, what actually happened, why do you suddenly not want to marry Jackson?" Jackson's mother asked with a serious look.
Sherina averted her gaze, observing the woman she knew to be good. "Sorry before, Tan, but I really can't marry Jackson; he's hiding many bad things from me. Jackson is not as good as I thought." Sherina answered truthfully.
"What are you talking about, why are you tarnishing my image?!" Jackson was furious. His eyes stared at Sherina sharply.
Sherina averted her gaze, observing Jackson who was now very angry with her. "I'm not tarnishing your image; I just know your true nature and what you've done behind my back!" Sherina no longer wanted to hide everything.
"What? What have I done behind your back?!"
Sherina smiled ruefully, feeling sorry for herself. "I know that you're actually a scoundrel and you also have a girlfriend other than me, right?" Sherina began to bravely gaze at the man who ultimately did not marry her.
"I also know that there is a plan you have with my Grandfather, that's why you were so enthusiastic about this wedding event. Isn't that right?" Sherina's gaze sharpened, as she knew the fact that they both just wanted to use her.
Sherina's Grandfather felt unacceptable; he looked at his granddaughter with disapproval. "What are you talking about regarding me?"
"I'm just telling the truth about how Grandfather really is."
"You must not be disrespectful to your Grandfather!" Harry or Sherina's Father felt displeased with what his daughter did.
"Dad is not happy with what I did because Dad will benefit not from Grandfather and also from Mr. Edward's family, right?"
They were all surprised because they had assumed that Sherina did not know anything about the well-prepared plan, so now they could only stay silent in shock. Fortunately, Jackson's Father was not present at the event now; if he were, the atmosphere would heat up even more.
"You have to watch your words when speaking to your Father!"
"Huh? Why is Dad angry, isn't what I said true?"
"Sherina!"
Sherina averted her gaze, observing her Grandfather with a very relaxed look. "Yes. What is it?"
"You are rude! You have gone too far!"
"Argh!" Sherina screamed loudly, as she clearly saw her Grandfather's hand about to slap her, but a few moments passed... Sherina did not feel a slap land on her cheek.
All eyes turned to the man who was now holding back Sherina's Grandfather's hand. "The old man must not slap her, and no one should hurt my Wife!"
A cold and weighty voice was heard, making Sherina open her eyes, and she saw the handsome man's gaze focused on her with a worried look.
"Are you okay?" Demian asked with a concerned look, and Sherina nodded.
"Yes, I'm fine, thank you."
"What you did should not have been done because Sherina is no longer yours but is now mine!"
From Demian's words, Jackson now felt his emotions rise again. "Remember, she is my Wife, and you just came and took her away! Don't be so disrespectful!"
Demian averted his gaze, stepping towards Jackson, which made Sherina panic, and she immediately grabbed Demian's arm, worried that Jackson and Demian would end up fighting.
"No matter how I got Sherina, it's clear that she's my wife. So, you have no right to approach her, let alone hurt her!" Demian spoke fearlessly to Jackson.
"You're rude! What do you want now?!" Jackson's statement challenged Demian, as he felt insulted by how he was demeaned. Jackson felt that his dignity had been lost in front of many guests.
"I don't want anything. I just want to take my Wife away from here." Demian redirected his gaze to where Sherina was. "Come, dear, let's leave this place." The inviting statement sounded full of tenderness.
Sherina still stared at Demian; she did not expect that the man she accidentally met on the roadside would have such courage and could treat her so well.
'Regardless of whether he's pretending or not, I just like his gentle demeanor!'
"Heh! You can't just take my granddaughter away like that!" Sherina's Grandfather objected."You unclear man! Return my granddaughter!" Simon commanded with a very high tone.
Demian shifted his gaze, stopped his steps, and looked at Simon calmly, with a smile on his lips. "It seems you shouldn't address me as an unclear man because you already know my name, and in fact... you could even call me your grandson."
"I won't accept you as my grandson!" Simon retorted angrily.
A nonchalant smile was clearly visible on Demian's lips. "Actually, I also don't need recognition from an Elder like you, because it's clear that your granddaughter is my Wife!"
Demian reached for Sherina's hand again, then continued walking, and throughout the journey, Sherina could only gaze at the pale white-faced man who was now her Husband.
"I will protect you from anything," Demian said gently, with a smile and a gaze that captivated Sherina as she looked at him.
