Chapter 2

Kwesi looked up and saw this incredibly handsome freshman. He couldn't even tell if the guy was Ghanaian or not because of his light, creamy skin that gave off an Afro-American vibe.

And let me tell you, the boy smelled like expensive cologne, giving off those rich vibes.

Kwesi was so captivated that he stared at him for a whole minute until the freshman waved his hand to get his attention.

The freshman asked, "Are you okay, Senior?" That brought Kwesi back to reality, and he quickly regained his serious expression. With a stern look, Kwesi replied, "Hey, is that how you talk to your Senior? You just arrived and have the audacity to ask me why I'm laughing like that?" He said it in an undertone so that Papa Nimo wouldn't hear him.

The freshman blinked in confusion and looked back to check if his elder sister was still there. And guess what? She was standing by their posh and luxury car, completely engrossed in her phone. She didn't even notice him looking at her. He turned back to the prefect, who was still staring at him, and asked, "Is that your sister?" Kwesi wondered if she was also Ghanaian, but he kept that thought to himself.

The freshman replied, "Yes, Senior. Why? Do you find her beautiful? Don't worry, I can..." Kwesi cut him off, almost yelling, which caught the attention of Papa Nimo, some guardians, and parents. He awkwardly smiled at them and then turned back to the troublemaker. Kwesi  cleared his throat and asked, "What's your name?" The boy replied, "Jesse, Senior."

Kwesi, being the strict prefect that he was, had a way of making sure the freshmen understood the hierarchy. He gave Jesse a stern look and said, "Can't you just talk without emphasizing 'Senior' all the time?"

Poor Jesse, being new to the school and not understanding all the rules, blinked in confusion.

Today was a bad day indeed for Jesse

Why were all the prefects rude this started with the one who inspected his things immediately after he arrived.

He saw him inspecting others before him and had a habit of rearranging things. Jesse wanted to tell him to stop messing up his neatly folded clothes in the trunk, but he changed his mind when he saw Dan, the guy with the stern face, glaring at him.

And now he was facing another prefect whom he did not understand at all.

He looked back at Kwesi, who let out a sigh and pointed behind him, saying, "Stand there."

Kwesi had spent a lot of time dealing with Jesse, and there were still other freshmen waiting in line to be allocated their rooms. He wanted to finish with them before dealing with Jesse's stubbornness.

As Kwesi resumed his work, he heard some commotion coming from the upper floor of the building. He whispered to himself, "These form 2s have started." Curious, he turned and looked at Jesse, sending him a message, "Go up the stairs to the upper level of the building. Move to your right, and you'll see a room with the name 'Prefects Room' on the door. Enter and go to the left side. There's a guy there. Tell him to quiet down the form 2s. There are parents and guardians here, and they need to behave themselves." Jesse nodded and started his assignment.

He found the room Kwesi mentioned, he swung the door open and entered quietly.

He was surprised by how spacious and clean the room was, with smooth cream-painted walls and large windows. The room was dimly lit since the bulb was switched off. Jesse noticed a single bunk bed with white bedsheets and pillows. There was a trunk and a chop box beside the bed, presumably belonging to the person who sent him there. Books were scattered on the bed, and neatly arranged brown sandals and black shoes were placed under the bed. Hanging beneath the upper bunk bed, Jesse saw white shirts with a badge and brown pants, which he recognized as the school uniforms.

Curiosity led Jesse to the other side of the room, where a larger curtain seemed to divide the space. He assumed that's where the guy he was looking for was. As he entered, he saw the guy with his eyes closed. The room was similar to the first one but even neater.

There were no scattered books this time. Jesse mustered up the courage and whispered, "Hello." He almost chuckled at himself, realizing that his voice was too low to wake the sleeping prefect. He couldn't help but feel intimidated by the prefect's presence. Jesse wondered what kind of prefect he was. He decided to observe him quietly, noticing his well-defined jawline and the fact that he was only wearing a singlet, revealing his abs and muscular thighs. Jesse swallowed nervously.

"What do you want?" The prefect said harshly as he opened his eyes to look at the freshman who was shaken up with his brown eyes widened as he was spoken to.
