Sneaking in

Talus' POV

I splashed water on my face and let out a sigh of relief. Drying my face with a white cloth, I walked out the room. Standing at the corridor, soldiers walked past me, bowing down when they reached me. We had conquered the Galian post last night and spent the night here. I'm not sure any of the Galians made it out alive.

I rested my hands on the rails of the corridor and looked down. Dead soldiers were carried on cart and dumped at the middle of the fort, dry stalks around them. The Dalfean soldiers rose their gaze to me and I gave them a curt nod. They moved away from the pile of dead bodies.

I focused on the stalks and soon sparks of fire surfaced. In seconds, the bodies were ablaze. My breath hitched and I removed my gaze. Some of our soldiers had died. I couldn't stand watching them burn to ashes.
