The beginning

The cold rustle of wind brushed past my pale face as my eyes flickered from the wind sailing by.

"This was it" I said to myself.

I stared down at the white envelope in front of me, my 'parents' inside waiting for the news. I softly opened the envelope with my shaking hands as the sound of paper being opened echoed in the garden.

I glanced down at the paper that decides my fate with hesitation pulsating through me.

-it will be alright…- I heard her mutter in my head, my only friend.

She's been in my head as long as I remember, the only friend I every had. All my 'parents' did when I told them about her was take me to a physiatrist who endlessly asked questions.

"Thank you" I mutter emotionless as I picture her smiling back at me.

I look down at the envelope only to see the results, it was not good.

The words read with in my head over and over again.

"mentally unstable"

I was always dinfferent, trying to make friends over and over in my orphanige, only to get beaten cruel, with not fists but words.

"Your weird!" They mocked.

"Go away!" They screamed.

"Just die!" They said.

I eventually did make a friend, the one in my head. She didn't mock me for my seemingly lack of all emotions, or my strange, or as others said it, twisted view on life. That we as humans are ment to be used by other humans.

stronger humans.

I was adopted 5 months ago by a decent family, they treated me well, and I thought they cared.

But when I opened up about my thoughts, all that came was looks of disgust and revolution.

I broke the last straw when I told them I have a friend in my head, I didn't take long for them to send me to a physiciatrist, that's when they started distending themselves.

Even the physiciatrist looked at me with distain, she had nothing good to say.

My parents forced me to take a test, to see if I was mentally stable.

There words were, "we don't want an emotionless weirdo as our son, to represent us and our lineage, if the results are unstatisfactory you won't be welcome in this house!"

/Thump/

The door swung open abd my 'father' came out to the green backyard.

"Hand me the results boy!" He stormed on the stone under the umbrella.

He pushed my 11 year old body back and hurriedly snatched the note from my hands.

He was quiet…

He looked at me, eyes filling with disgust and distain.

With no words he grabbed me, roughly pulling me out of the garden through my house I've lived in for less then five months, out the front door and onto the footpath.

"I can't stand driving a pyhico, find your own way back to the orphanige" he uttered with cruelty harshly turning away retreating back to house while mutrering how much of a disgrace I was.

I looked at my former home only to see my mother looking at me with happiness, for I was gone.

That quickly changed when she saw me looking at her, her face scrunched with cruelty and she turned around.

Standing there, still alone… well

-let's se if we can find the orphanige- she said

I only nodded with agreement.

I shuffled through the streets of the city, looking for my allly.

It's been eight days since I was left and haven't found the orphanage.

I wondered the streets with lookes of disgust from all around as they hurridly got out of my way.

"Found it" I said remaining emotionless and walking towards the entrance,

-watch out!- she warned but it was to late.

I collided with a heavy man in a suit pushing us both down.

I hear him muttering curses as he lookes at me hatefully.

"Did you just try to pick pocket me" he said with anger as he patted himself only to find his wallet gone.

I glanced over seeing his wallet on the ground.

[must of dropped it on the fall] I thought.

"No sir you wall…"

"Shut up!" He said with anger "give it back!"

I tried to form words but pushed me into my ally.

"Hand it over," he said looking menacingly at me, like a bull eyeing a mouse.

I point to where his wallet fell only to see someone walking away with it in their pocket.

He turns to find nothing, and looks back at me with fury.

"Trying to pull a fast one!" He muttered coldly as he walked to me, "I'll break your hands and knees so you can never pickpocket again, it will be a service to this country" he said wickedly.

A cacophony of /cracks/ /thuds/ and /creaks/ could be heard in the ally as I was left there lying, while the man strutted away with his revenge fulfilled.

Without being able to move I sat there for two days, food and water slowly being deprived from by body and it slowly turning skinny and wrinkely, only 'she' to keep me company.

On the morning of the third day I closed my eyes for the last time regretting everything as the pain died away.

It all turned black.

The sound of nothing haunting my head. The felling of nothing caressing my body as I drifted through nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing, I had only been here for a short time but I felt I would go mad.

But Then… something

I bright light scattering through nothing making it something with light warmth envolping my body.

-poor child- the voice… no she said.

"How are you here I speak, weren't you in my head," I ask.

-I was, but you didn't imagine me.-

-11 years ago a boy with no emotions was born, curious, I watched him live his life to see what an emotionless human would do.-

-And I saw suffering.-

-I pitied you so I decided to grant you a wish for your troubles and gave you your deepest desire, a friend.-

-I'd talk to you in your head becoming that friend, but your life still ended in mystery.-

-Seeing such a terrible life I had decide to give you a chance in another world, with emotions included this time.-

-And of course a wish… hmm no, two wishes-

" I simply wish that I have a friend… friends" I said instantly

The light chuckled… she chuckled.

-of course you would say that, I will give you a aura that radiates friendship trust, happiness, and all basic things for a frined to have. This of course dosent just give you friends, it just makes it easy to gain them and them to trust you-

I simply hummed in thought

"what will the world im going to be like?" I ask to help me decide my next wish.

-it is a world filled with gods and mystical powers, and many places you can find find friends.-

-but also a world with a towering tower called bable where dungeon monsters roam and it is the duty of these people called adventures to conquer this dungeon-

"Hmm" I thought.

"What do you recomed?" I ask due to me not udderstading my new world.

-You can get power in that world but it takes an awful long time, I would recomed something to speed up your progress-

"Very well, I wish for faster progressing"

I could see the light raising its eyebrow if it had one.

-what dose that do?-

"I progress faster in every thing, training, strength, magic, and even my metal capabilities, I make faster progress with everything."

"Something that takes a year to learn, master or do, I can do it in much less time."

-very smart, I beleve we're done here, goodby Arcius-

"Goodbye…"

-Elpis is my name- she said with a smile, well, that's what it seemed like, she is just a ball of light right now.

"The female Greek god of hope?" I asked wondering.

She laughs and nods

-There's nothing else to it goodbye- she said

I feel a spilling sensation in my chest as I fall through the nothing to something.

"My new life."
