Undertale: The Scientist

"Hey, your majesty, I have a question." "Yes, Victor?" Asgore calmly replied. "Why do you have dead corpses of children in your basement, perfectly preserved, and not buried?" ... ----------- Will be updated frequently, but no set schedule, don't feel like forcing myself into a schedule that'll likely turn this into a hiatus book.

Ch 6: It was cheap, what did you expect?

Authors note: I was planning on finishing this yesterday and posting it then, but I got caught up in my psychology homework, so here's a longer ch to compensate.

"Ugh, fuck." I can't help but say in response to the extreme restricted feeling on my chest. "Yes, hi there, buddy. Aren't you a big boy?" I try to remain friendly.

He responds by licking my face.

"Yes, yes, good boy. Could you please get off of me?"

He whines, and moves, to my surprise.

"YES, WHOS A GOOD BOY!" I yell in a playful tone. I immediately look for something to throw. He is a dog after all, after jumping on me, he isn't gonna leave me alone until I play with him.

'The pen! The pen in my pocket!' I have a realization.

I pull it out. "See the toy? See the toy?" I hype him up. "Go get it!" I throw it towards the iced area before here.

He tumbles multiple times as he jumps out of his armor to go and get the pen.

'I hope he will be fine, if he accidentally eats the ink, the story might shift, and that could be a problem…'

I almost fall in the chasm in my lost thoughts.

"Fuck! I need to get that habit out of my head!" I curse.

And even worse…

There is a bridge.

I almost fell into the chasm when there was a bridge. I can't help but be embarrassed at the idea that I could have killed myself like that purely on accident.

My stomach rumbles.

I sigh. "Well, I am almost at Snowdin, I wonder what Grillby's tastes like."

My mouth, salivating at the idea of Grillbys, guided me through the bridge. It honestly is a wonder how it is able to bring Greater Dog from his post to Grillbys and back so many times, considering how rickety it is.

Soon, a lovey sign greeted me.

"Welcome to Snowdin!"

"It actually is a really nice looking sign, I dont know why more people talk about it." I wonder.

Of course, there are a few things that are different. There isn't the little igloo. The inn hasn't been built yet, although it does look like it is in construction, and finally, there are only a few houses behind Grillby's, as opposed to the small town that should be there. Sans and Papyrus's house is there, but it seems like its abandoned…

My stomach growls, interrupting the exploration of Snowdin.

"First things first, I am hungry!"

As I walk into the bar, I am assaulted by the smell of grease. The jukebox is playing Never gonna give you up by Rick Astley.

When did they get access to human music?

The only two people here are Grillby and a cloaked man at the far end of the bar. I sit down at the opposite end.

Immediately, Grillby sets down the glass he was wiping with a clean rag and heads over to me.

"What can I get you, dear customer?" His voice sounds exactly as you think it would. A raspy but warm voice, as if fire itself had a voice.

"What's your cheapest burger and how expensive is the whiskey?" I get to the point.

"Cheapest we got is a normal cheeseburger for 3G, and the whiskey is 7G."

'Ugh, whiskey is just as expensive here as it is in other worlds, huh?' I curse to myself.

Wait, how do I get my money? It's in the menu right? Do I just summon it?

I summon it in a place I can't see, slightly in fear that others might be able to see the screen, and simply put my hand through it.

As I pull my hand out, 10 golden coins are in my hand.

"I'll take it." I say goodbye to half of my money.

"ID?"

I sweat drop. Graying hair really means nothing here, huh?

As I show him it, he simply replies, "Coming right up."

He takes my money and disappears into the back, where you can hear clanging as he pulls together his cookware.

As I wait, I look around in interest. It was my first time here after all.

It reminded me of those places you and your friends would go after a long day of work to drink. It definitely had a cozy atmosphere, despite the smell. Even then, the smell merely added to the nostalgia I felt.

Then I look at the hooded figure, and wonder who it was. I doubt River Person was so early in the timeline, although he looks like him, he doesn't have his boat that River Person takes with him everywhere, even on land. His father, perhaps?

As I am lost in thought, Grillby comes out with a simple patty between two buns with a single slice of cheese. He sets it in front of me and turns around to the board full of alcohol and grabs a glass from the far right and the same drinking glass he was cleaning and set it in front of me, pouring the drink at the same time.

"Enjoy." He says sinply, walking back over to his original spot and grabbed another glass to clean.

I take a bite of the burger.

"It tastes like grease," I sweat drop. "Well, at least its something. I'm starving."

I finish it quickly, probably within five minutes. Not 100% sure though, as I was far too focused on the burger to count.

I then looked toward my drink. It was a beautiful golden brown color with a few ice cubes floating around in it. I take a sip.

'Perfect.' I think, satisfied at the campfire like taste.

(Authors note: anyone who has drunk whiskey knows what I mean, that shit fucking HITS man.)

It was gone before I knew it.

Slightly sad at the whiskey being gone, I said my thanks to Grillby and left for Waterfall. I may have plenty of time before the storyline, but that doesn't mean I should squander my time, tight?

A slight blizzard blocked me from the entrance to waterfall, but it was hardly a problem, as it for some reason did not restrict my movements.

"2, 4, 6, 8, I think it's time for a date, i've got a craving and I think you're my taste!" I sing to myself as I leave through the blizzard, trying to distract myself from my low funds. Although, I can't convince myself the song wasn't coming from the slight buzz I was feeling.

🎵"So won't you come out and play? Darling it's your lucky day!"🎵

I think about whats next. Probably a job, and I have just the place!

🎵"Why so blue, dear? Why the expression of fear? Not into falling for those crocodile tears! Got nowhere to flee, now your soul belongs to me!"🎵

The labs. With these clothes, it would make perfect sense to work as a scientist, and, although I don't want to toot my own horn very much, I am pretty intelligent.

🎵"You've been invited to my spider dance! Spider dance! Spider dance!"🎵

I guess I have my new goal to work to…

🎵"So move along with me and clap your hands! Clap your hands! Clap your hands!"🎵

The future won't wait for me! I fon't know when the first human will fall, so I have to take the next step forward!

🎵"Im gonna trap you in my spider dance! Spider dance! Spider dance!"🎵

A beautiful blue wall with glowing crystals, air wet with the water flying off of the rocks at the bottom of the waterfalls, greets me as I take my next step.

🎵"You know a heart like yours can't stand a chance cause your marionette strings are in my hands!"🎵
