27. Hello love, did you miss me?

I was so mad at myself. I always blamed myself for wanting more, for not being satified with that kind of life. Now that I finally had some magic I understood that it didn't matter , I would always be alone .

I tried so hard to fight for both of us, I tried to keep him but he always left, he always abandoned me.

I thought that he would hold my hand during this journey , I was scared, a lot.

I didn't know where were we headed to, I didn't even know where we were.

I approached Franklin who was studing some paper.

"Do you have a minute?"

"Oh yes dear, tell me." He turned his full attention to me.

"Where are we? Where are we headed to?"

"Kurucetra."

"Kuru... What?"

"This is how the place we are headed to is called. There is where the battle of virtues and bad habits occur. There is where you will find the answers you're looking for."

Franklin spoke calmly, but as soon as he finished his speech we heard noises.

"What was that?" I widened my eyes.

"You stay behind me." Franklin covered me with his body. But I was still able to see the creatures that were crawling towards us.

They were white as a sheet of paper, their eyes were bright blue, their head was bigger than their body . Their nails were like those on the paws of the animals. Instead of walking they were crawling and weird noises went out from their mouth . Five of them were headed towards us .

"Who are they?" I asked again as Franklin was throwing yellow balls of energy towards them.

He didn't answer me he just yelled Gideon's name again and again. Those creatures seemed not effected by his efforts, Franklin looked tired. He was barely standing on his feet.

I hold him by his arm, he crashed into the grass whispering: "Run."

I couldn't just let him there. I tried to throw something at them but it wasn't working. Nothing came from my hands. I didn't know if I was in shock or Christoph wasn't anywhere near.

I crawled back as two of the creatures crawled towards me. The other three were busy because Franklin continued throwing something at them.

I thought I was going to die. My life would end there , I thought I would never find out who I was. I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest, that's how fast it was beating.

I closed my eyes waiting for my end, praying 'Please let it be no painful. '.

Nothing happened, I heard weird noises from their mouth in the air. I opened my eyes slowly to se that those two creatures were ripped into pieces.

A stream of green energy headed towards the other three.

I followed the source of the energy and saw him. I was relieved that we were safe, but were we?

"Hello love, did you miss me?" Hannel smirked helping me to get up by helding my arm.

"Hannel?" I pulled my arm. I was afraid. I looked at Franklin who now was unconscious on the grass .

"Oh sweetness overloaded when you say my name." He was smiling like nothing happened, like he didn't try to turn me into a lab rat.

"Stay away from me!" I searched with eyes for something heavy to protect myself.

"I just saved you, this is how you thank me?" He became serious, he became angry.

"How do I know you didn't bring them?"

"Them? Those creatures are canibal coffins Iden. You can't make an alliance with them, you can't stay 5 foots near them because they will bite you and eat your flesh, your organs until they lick every bone of your body."

I was shocked, until now the yourney had been only words and tales and now I had to face other monsters that weren't inside of me.

I couldn't breath, I was having a panic attack. I never had panik attacks before that bad. I convinced myself that I was strong, I feed myself with that thought every day.

" What is wrong? Shshsh, breath Iden, breath! "

" Don't call me Iden." I barely spoke with my hands on my chest.

" Sorry. Tara look at me, breath, calm down. I'm here. I won't let them hurt you. I will protect you."

It was funny, the one who tried to hurt me was promising me to protect me. So no one else could hurt me, apart from him.

" What happened to her?" I finally had hope when I saw Merida approaching us.

" I don't know she is having a panic attack I guess!"

Hannel responded nervous.

Why wasn't she running, why wasn't she afraid of him.

" Well you better take her away now, they almost killed all the canibal coffins. "

What? Was that Merida? She was helping Hannel.

I had to save myself , I had to overcome my fear. I breathed while he was saying some words I didn't understand and Merida was looking behind if someone came.

Finally I got up turning their attention towards me.

" You said you didn't brought them! " I pushed his chest, he took steps back.

" Oh I didn't. Your friend here lured them with some magic trick." He raised his hands in surrender smirking.

I turned my head towards Merida she was scared of me, like I would hurt her.

"What is wrong with you? Are you on his side?! I expected Aurea to be the traitor since she hates me, not you."

" I don't hate you Tara. How can I hate you? It's for your best, he loves you, he will protect you."

She spoke naively .

" Are you mad? He turned me into a rat lab! I am not safe with him. "

" Oh don't speak like that, you're hurting my feelings. Oh wait I don't have any feelings, you buried them in your tomb when you died!" Hannel spat at me walking towards me .

I walked backwards but he was stronger than me. He threw me on his shoulder heading towards some kind of portal.

" Don't touch me. Let me go! Put me down!" I yelled . I screamed. Nothing.

The last face I saw there was hers. What was she thinking?

Why did she think I was safe with Hannel?
