“Hi,” he said. “I’m sorry that I left Bakersfield and—”

Adam walked in, closed the door, and kissed Jojo. He held Jojo’s face, and pressed further and Jojo didn’t fight him. He kissed back. Adam pressed Jojo against the wall. There was a faint smell of sandalwood and jasmine. “God I missed you so much.”

“I missed you, too. Jizelle told me what happened,” Jojo said. “I was overcome with jealousy, and I should have not just run off like that.”

Adam put a finger to Jojo’s lips and stared into those beautiful brown eyes. The suite was exposed to so much sunlight on the top floor he could see the small green flecks. “I would’ve done the same thing. If I heard what you hear.” Adam smiled. “Have I ever told you have the most amazing brown eyes? In the light, they’re almost hazel.”

“There’s no such thing as hazel. Eyes are either brown or green.” Jojo said, his breathing slightly hitched.

“Argumentative this morning?” Adam smiled as he buried his face in Jojo’s neck.
