Chapter 29

“Eat,” Janeth commanded. “Your food will get cold.” As she said this she brought out beef and tacos to the table. Chicken fajitas were already on the table. Adam didn’t wait to be told twice. He took the chili sauce bottle and sprinkled it on his food. When he finally started eating, he said to himself he had never had a more delicious chicken fajita. He made a beef taco, too. He glanced over to Jojo’s meal. That’s when he realized that Jojo didn’t have chicken but just vegetables.

“You don’t mind if they eat their dinner in front of us?” Jojo asked.

“No, why would I?” Adam said, biting into a taco that he just made full with beef, tomatoes, lettuce, and homemade salsa. “Oh my God, this is amazing. Sorry, I didn’t mean to eat and talk with my mouth full.”

“With us, that’s a compliment.” Janeth brought forth a dish in front of Erwin who had walked back inside from the courtyard. “Ah, do you want to try some of the sinigang ng isda?” Erwin asked.
