Rada glared at both of them. “Me,” she told Denehey, with a sweet smile that fooled no one. “Thank you, Detective.” She passed him a card Ben hadn’t seen her fish out of her purse and gestured to the others. “All right. Everyone to my office.”

“I was thinking more like a bar,” Ben muttered.

“It’s not even nine in the morning.” Rada scowled at him. “There aren’t any bars open.”

“That cute little champagne bar is open.” Townsend followed along, but he smirked at Lennon.

“Oh my God would you shut up, Townsend.” Ben pinched the bridge of his nose.

They settled into Rada’s office, and Ben swept it for listening devices. Only then did anyone speak. “Right,” said Lennon. None of his anger had dissipated. He still vibrated with it. “So, like I mentioned, Kaden, you’re fired, get out. Good talk.”
