When Deanna woke up she was in bed with a migraine but the surroundings were unfamiliar.
"Finally, you're awake," said Lisa. "I had to go and get help from the school nurse. I was so worried about you."
"You didn't need to be. I'm going to die soon anyways. I won't let that killer claim me as his bride."
Lisa was confused.
What the hell was going on in Deanna's mind and what was she raving about now.
Perhaps there was some truth to what the Nurse had said earlier about Deanna.
The Nurse believed that Deanna's mind was fragile and had snapped under the weight of being an underachiever from a family of high performers where success meant everything.
To give herself relevance Deanna was crafting stories where in her mind she was the heroine and would be the one to save the day.
