Roy sighed watching his men torture the bonded man, after his phone vibrated he got up and walked closer.

"I didn't want to go to such lengths but you forced me" He pushed the phone in front of the man showing the images on the screen, "So are you talking now Mr Carl"

The man looked up, "Am begging you don't touch her" he said...

"I won't if you give me what I want, " Roy said.

"Okay, tell your boss I will tell him everything, just please won't hurt her" he answered.

Roy smiled, "Okay".

Cynthia was too busy in the kitchen to hear Roy return. It was until he opened the door that she heard him.

"Your back" she smiled running from the kitchen to the door where he was standing.

Roy stood still seeing her run to him with her hands full of flour, standing in front of him, "Welcome back" she let out.

"Thank you" he answered

She opened her arms and he frowned, "Well Mama Rosa & Alex always hug me when I return from work, so am asking for one now"

"Ohh..." Roy slowly bent down giving her a light hug then pulled away.

She giggled turning back, "Dinner is almost ready"

He followed her inside, "How was your day?" she asked.

"Great, finally got what the boss needed," he said noticing the mess in the kitchen.

"Am glad it went well, hope my dinner doesn't spoil the rest of the evening for you?" she said.

"It smells nice I think it will taste incredible" he smiled, "although the mess in the kitchen might not agree with me"

She giggled and turned to wash her hands, "Ignore the mess and trust the smell.

He chuckled nodding.

He took off his coat and tie, folded his sleeves and helped with the table.

She brought the food and sat down happily.

"Before we start I want to tell you this is my very first time cooking without burning the kitchen or the food. So I hope it's okay " she said. "I didn't want to disappoint you ".

He smiled taking a bite," Well the smell didn't lie it tastes amazing "

"Really "her eyes lit up. He nodded.

"It's not as bad as you imagined, "he said.

Cynthia took a bit of her food and blinked with a smile," This is one of the best meals I have ever put together, am so happy "

"Congratulations, "he told her.

"Thank you "She made a little bow laughing.

They both laughed going back to eating.

"I have a bottle of wine should we open it up to celebrate your first cooking success? "he asked.

Cynthia nodded," I would like that "As he walked away to get it, She thought it was a good idea to get drunk in a stranger's home. But then smiled thinking of how Roy had treated her, he was the safest person she could be with.
