Pain

"Alex love, wake up" she heard someone call her, eyes fluttered open to see Nathan next to her. She blinked moving and touching her face, "Is that you Nathan".

He smiled with sadness in his eyes, "Honey, it's me" he said.

Alex gazed at him tearing up, "Come here" he said gesturing her to move into his open arms. She burst into tears falling into his embrace.

"Dad is gone, he left me alone. It hurts so much " she cried. He held her tightly, "Oh my sweet girl" he whispered.

"I...I wasn't even there for him..and I... I..." Alex cried. Nathan pulled away wiping her tears, "Shhh, don't cry love, don't cry" he said.

Her tears fell staining her face. He frowned, "Am here for you, love" he said holding her. "I know it hurts but we both know how strong you are Alex, you have been through a lot and still managed to reach this far so....." Alex cut him off.

"But... I don't know if I can this time. He helped me take that painful feeling when my father died, but now that his gone too, it has returned "she was gasping for air through her tears. "It hurts so much now that I can't bare it" she cried.

Nathan held her letting calmly as he gently caressed her smooth hair whispering in her hair. "If it hurts so much then give me all that pain, let me take it away," he said. Pushing her head down further onto his shoulder he told, "bite down into my shoulder with all your strength, realise all that anger and pain and give it to me"

Alex sniffed, "won't it hurt" her teary eyes gazed up at him

He shook his head kissing her forehead, "No it won't love trust me"

Alex following his lead gently pushed away his white shirt from his shoulder and bent down sinking her teeth into his skin but Nathan didn't feel anything, while crying she finally let go.

Her tears flowed down looking up at him, "I love you, Nathan, I can't hurt you"

He smiled, "But...." Alex held him by the neck and kissed the part she had lightly bit.

"I just want you close to me, holding me and telling me things will be okay. Just Your voice is all I want to hear" she said.

He carried her laying them back down on the bed, "Then let me hold you until you feel yourself again"

The burial was attended by the company workers & shareholders. Relatives and other family members.

"Mom at least fake some tears, they are all noticing how plain and calm looking you are" Cynthia whispered to her mother.

"What do you want me to do, I can't cry. I wanted him with everything I had and am so glad he died of the heartache" she answered.

"A heart attack you caused, mom has same shame" Cynthia cried.

Her mother smiled, "Let's say luck was on my side, I merely touched him but he fell by himself" she said.

Cynthia felt herself get dizzy, getting up, "I can't take this right now" she moved to her sister's seat.

They heard the final prayer from the priest and got up.

Cynthia moved to throw her flower on her father's coffin right after her mother. Alex and her mother did the same then Nathan and his father followed.

Alex held back her tears as she watched her father being laid to rest.

Nathan drove her and her mother back home. Then left after the non-family members were asked to leave.

"If you need me, call me immediately," he said to her. She nodded, "Get home safe" her red swollen eyes smiled.

He sighed hugging her again, "I love you, don't forget that"

She smiled.

"Do you think Alex will be fine, father?" Nathan asked.

His father sighed, "Son I can't say for sure, the man who has been protecting them both is gone now. Am worried the vile woman has already made her plans" he said.

"Can we wait & see if she will be fine after the lawyer leaves?" he said.

Roy parked the car aside, and Nathan's eyes kept on the open gate leading to the White mansion.

A few minutes later they heard a scream, and then Alex fell out of the mansion being thrown out by two strong men. Her mother ran to her, crying. He frowned jumping out of the car.
