21. Securing Supplies

The next day, after school, Indra immediately goes to the local market to buy supplies. In traditional markets, he can find cheap items easily. Obviously, their qualities are bad, that's why they are cheap.

But it doesn't matter because he needs them for emergency situations. Also, things like clothes often get torn when he fights, so it's better to buy cheap clothes. He doesn't even care if they look ugly because the monsters won't care about it either.

Furthermore, he is still growing, so he buys oversized clothes to anticipate that. He buys quite a lot of clothes to prepare for many situations. After all, he can't wash them in dungeons, so he needs a lot to stay hygienic in case he needs to be in the dungeon for days like if he is trapped in a Red Gate.

Other than clothes, he also buys food & water, which are the most important. He buys the ones that can be stored for a long time and are easy to prepare like instant noodles, canned food, biscuits, or dried food and ingredients.

He tries to get all kinds of food to make sure he gets all the nutrients he needs even in emergencies. But it's obviously difficult to get everything he needs with his limited budget. It will be very simple if his inventory is like the ones that those cheating MCs have. The ones where the time is stopped in the inventory.

"I need fiber, but no one here sells dried vegetables and fruits. Hmm, seems like the only way is by making them myself. I'll look for the method on the internet later. Maybe I can make dried meat myself too. It should be cheaper that way and I can flavor them however I want. Besides, it sounds fun."

He knows he might find dried veggies and fruits in supermarkets, but he doesn't want to go there because he always feels the items there are overcharged. Or at least that's what his thin wallet thinks.

Anyway, he spends that day buying basic necessities he will need in case he gets trapped in dungeons. He even watches survival videos to learn how to survive in different terrains. His sudden interest in it confuses his family, but they don't think much about it because it's normal for a teenager like him to suddenly change his interest.

However, he is too absorbed in it and forgets to raid a dungeon that night. Well, at least he can get a proper rest that night and his body feels really great the next day. So from now on, he will only raid a dungeon once every 2 days because he finally feels the importance of rest.

The next night, he attacks another D-Rank dungeon, so it's another easy night for him. He finally levels up to 59 after clearing that dungeon. Not a bad day, but he hoped he could find a C-Rank dungeon because he was already close to level 60 and gets more skills.

"Sigh, I hope they can develop the device that can measure magic power quickly so I won't need to choose the Gates randomly."

Indra finally gets lucky in the next raid as he finds a C-Rank Gate. It's filled with red wolf-like monsters that can move very fast and they are quite smart. The monsters move in groups of 10-15 wolves and their attacks are very coordinated.

These guys are harder to deal with than those Lizardmen despite being weaker. Indra even gets quite a lot of injuries from their unexpected fast attacks. But in the end, he defeats them and learns quite a lot of things.

The boss doesn't look so different from the normal red wolves except for being just a bit bigger and having a lot of scars on its body. But Indra can sense that its magic power is much stronger than the normal ones.

This boss is not alone. There are 10 normal wolves with it, just like how an Alpha wolf is with its hunting group members. And just like the Lizardman boss, this boss also has some magic skills.

It just roars and the normal wolves suddenly get some buffs. They become stronger, faster, and they look more ferocious. That roar also affects Indra. It reduces his strength, agility, and inflicts fear. But he resists those debuffs instantly because of his Longevity skill.

The boss is surprised, but it doesn't panic and focuses on giving instructions to the normal wolves. Their attacks are much more coordinated and stronger than the normal wolves outside. They even know how to use feint attacks to make the battle more difficult.

But Indra still can defeat them quite easily. He is still faster and stronger than them, so he can catch them easily. Their bodies are not so tough either, so each punch can break their bones, which makes killing them easy too.

Even the boss doesn't stand a chance against Indra's attacks. It is stronger than the normal ones, but its main ability is its leadership. So once all its subordinates die, it loses almost half of its true power.

Indra clears the dungeon and finally passes level 60, becoming level 63. His stats increase and he gets some new skills.

"Huh? Lightning magic? I don't remember Jin Woo and Odin mentioning this. Also, they give me Lightning Magic itself, not Spells like the other skills. Do they want me to explore this magic and create spells myself?"

Indra doesn't know why they decided to give him Lightning Magic and why they chose it. The plan was to give him support spells like Healing spells, Buff spells, and debuff spells. All his attack skills should be physical, not magical like this Lightning Magic.

But that doesn't mean Indra hates having this Lightning Magic. The reason he should only get support spells was because Jin Woo & Odin said his human body can't handle too many different types of magic. That's why they chose to only give him support-type spells.

However, it doesn't seem to be the case now. Both Jin Woo & Odin won't just give him this Lightning Magic without any reason. Indra just doesn't know why and he can't even ask any of them now, so he can only guess.

Nonetheless, this is a very good thing because now he will have more options to use in battles. He always thought that there would be enemies with a high physical defense that could make his attacks useless. So having real magic attacks will be very helpful in that situation.

Indra wants to try his new Lightning Magic, but suddenly the dungeon shakes. He panics and quickly stores the dead monsters before running to the Gate. This place will close soon because he has cleared it and he almost forgot about the time.

He manages to escape on time which makes him very relieved because he doesn't want to get trapped inside a dungeon like Jin Woo's father. Though speaking of Jin Woo's father makes Indra think about what would happen to that old man now.

Sung Il Hwan should be a strong awakener even before becoming a Ruler's vessel. But there's no Hunter ranking system yet before his disappearance, so Indra doesn't know his rank. However, what concerns Indra is if that old man will get trapped in a dungeon again.

"If he gets trapped before there's the Hunter ranking system, then it should be before the first S-Rank dungeon appears. So around this year or next year. Tsk! I really want to do something about it to help Jin Woo, but I'm still too weak to do anything."

Indra really wants to help and prevent that from happening. But after thinking for a while, he starts to think that Jin Woo won't be that stupid either. Jin Woo must have planned something to prevent the same tragedy from happening to his father.

"Ugh! I really should have just focused on getting stronger now. Earth's future depends on the success of this plan."

Indra feels that he is getting too tired, that's why he starts overthinking things. So he quickly goes home and sleeps.
